Love watching LSV before a set releases to grasp the format better. I hope we can get more draft content like this later down the line, if you do end up liking the format, whether it's on MTGO or Arena.
Mandatory disclaimer: I am nowhere near the caliber of player LSV is and he's one of the GOATs, but that second-to-last game was a a doozy. 55:48: "There's *no way* LSV is greedy enough to discard the land here. He's greedy, but not that greedy: I think we're safe. We discard map since we have to play to the board on turn 4 if we're taking turn 3 off to ramp: our opponent played a 2 mana 3/1." 55:52: "I should have known. Well, let's see if it somehow pays off." 57:59: "Wish we had more colored mana to play Kellan. Opponent is representing the counter spell where we have to pay 2 though, so at least we'll be able to resolve this Lullaby and they'll probably be priced into making a 2/2 flyer end of turn, and then we can hopefully stabilize with steed, kellan, and our overall card advantage." 58:02: "Hmm, I didn't even really look at the draw spell as an option this turn, although admittedly, it does set up a very nice following turn with Kellan. But it straight up loses to the counterspell, which is a common." 58:11: "So this is what the 'just deserts' in the title was referring to. Oddly satisfying." LSV you're great, don't ever change 💙.
the only thing worse than his game play was his drafting decisions. running 4 colors in a draft is just so greedy especially with no treasure creation. he skipped over a lot of commons and uncommons that could have snowballed boros or even Naya considering all his favor for green. I understand wanting to run the bomb that is kellan but he really didn't draft for it at all. his deck struggles to synergize at all.
I have a feeling this set is going to be complicated to learn.. I have 12k gems saved up so I'll probably get lots of chances, but I'm going to have to relistem to the LR set reviews a couple times.
What happens if you put Pariah on Stuffy Doll? Will it break down the servers like...ehm...tripple o-ring? I guess it's good that it's not in this draft format.
This draft has felt so reliant on bombs, from the Instant speed Wrath to the Primal Command into the stupid 12 power worth giant. There was some cool stuff going on but I just don't enjoy bomb-y experiences.
Hasn't that been the thing for 3-5 years now? Powercreep plus bombs made me quit mtg years ago, I now only watch LSV and a few other old veterans, mostly for cube
MKM had barely any bombs and the experience was drawn out games of ppl drawing cards /investigating until one side gets an advantage. personally i prefer sets like this that have wild plays and bombs, because it's more exciting. granted you do sometimes get matched with a person who drew 4 bombs like the last match of this video where the guy dropped primal command into 3 more bombs, but thats an exception and not the rule.
I've no clue if the draft format itself will be fun or not. I just have not found that the kayfabe (the fiction and such using a pro-wrestling term) interests me. Like. "Cowboy World" is a meh for me personally and "Detective World" might have been fun but uh, there was no mystery to solve (or they spoiled it in the story explainer so no fun!, though thats a silly nitpick) I guess I am just waiting for them to release a set that really grabs my attention and interest. The last one I really got into was Kaldheim way back when, and just somehow enjoyed that format a lot!. Here's hoping this one is a good format and has legs for those who like it. Its enjoyable enough to watch a draft or two at least. Though I do find I vastly prefer cube drafts or old-school drafts (Let's see LSV and his team do a IPA draft!)
For the first few months I watched your drafts, I thought you were responding to a stream chat and doing a good job as an announcer by addressing their questions, restating comments you agreed with, etc... then i found out thats just you... You are literally a one man team. Draft, Stream, Announce, Play. If you are considering stopping the daily vids, you have to let us know months in advance if possible.
In this case he was streaming. He streamed the thunder junction early access event; in fact I would guess streaming it was a requirement to even take part.
Not sure if this is sarcasm, but I'm loving the new limited format so far. Seems much more nuanced and interesting than recent ones. I hope he shows more drafts of it than he did prior ones.
I think you meant "Just Desserts" as in "Deserved reward or punishments". You said "Just Deserts" as in an arid, sandy region. It's easy to remember the spelling with the mnemonic "You always want a _S_econd _S_erving of dessert". Hope that helps!
Imagine being this condescending and also incorrect LOL Obviously he meant "Deserts" because he's drafting the desert lands. It's a pun, which is a type of joke, often used for humor. Hope that helps!
Thanks so much, LSV, for the consistent content and for dabbling in other formats besides vintage cube. Love the variety!
One of LSV's best qualities is his ability to consistently and effortlessly insert a jab at BK in any video no matter the format.
"Make your own luck was basically an ancestral recall." Never change lsv.
"Nevermind, I don't want to play this game anymore.", describes Bonny Pall perfectly.
Best in the business. Fun and informative.

Two videos released so far in the format : one value fest, one (successful) mill deck.
Yup, that's LSV for sure !
Man, if we get to the end of the format and this kind of deck was competitively viable, this format will have been a BANGER
if you build it (format supporting 5c goodness) they will come (lsv w like 12 multicoloured cards)
I have a feeling Make your own luck is gonna find its way into the cube.

Cactarantula: basically Leovold. You heard it here first, folks.
El grand boa is one of the best french players. Good to see him against lsv and in a great game. Thanks lsv for the show
Bravo Thierry!!! Awesome comeback there against LSV no less! ;p
Yup, love watching you draft on Arena!
Kind of wonder if Make Your Own Luck into Make Your Own Luck is constructed viable.
If a Worship effect is in the set, Pariah may have more use
"i cut this island" totally misses it.
why cant i see any limited of this on arena?
It’s not out yet
This is a streamer-exclusive event, the set releases on Arena on Tuesday
Sweet deck!

You rather just get killed by op 1 drop 2 drop 3 drop?

I thought Thrown From The Saddle was supposed to be good
First, love the content

Uh oh is it turning into recycled stream?
yay hoooray to MTG for reprinting mana drain......ffs
Do you even love vintage cube anymore😢

@@Kendal411mostly sarcasm :) this format seems really sweet i just also love the cube content
wow
He doesn't use Raoul Vitale art for his moxes, I think it's very clear he never loved Vintage Cube.

It was actually painful to read this comment, oh wow.
