So... you don't have to do a smog test in NJ for renewal? You can clear the CEL with a scanner but the fault remains in the cars ECU until the problem is rectified. (ask me how I know this.... ugg..) A cat fault will fail the smog test where I live, CEL or not. I'd love the Foxwell but it is not compatible with a Mac computer for registering and updating.
Dealing with similar issue atm, but the worst part is i just bought 992 carerra S literally a week ago, it's 2019 car, new generation but it only had 2 previous owners and 20000 miles, drove for few days then suddenly saw that engine management light on, but it said ok to drive but take it to garage soon, but after 10 to 15 mins of driving the car stared a stalled a little bit then immediately i take it to porsche garage, it's been a week they have my car, they still haven't been able to find out what exactly is wrong. Hoping its nothing serious.
I just changed my exhaust on my GT3 touring, and a check engine light came on the dashboard. Would it void the warranty to clear the code? Thanks and regards!
Was about to order a Foxwell scanner as well - BUT - discovered that you need a Windows computer to do any updates. They don't have any Mac software - so unfortunately a no-go for me.

As long as you drive over 100 miles it will be ready for testing
Macs can run Windows.

No it won’t.
@@TommyLGarage kinda figured. The only thing I've seen that will do it confirmed is POCOM or the OEM software.

So I have owned it for a couple of years now and not ones that I have to do an update. I would not be bothered by it.
Upon further research, found that Foxwell has a new model that is WiFi based ...NT710 so no computer connection required.
You can also run Windows on a Mac
I think my 911 is a 2014 carrera 4S the battery went down and that light came up!
