I lived in alaska four years when i was little cause our dad was in the airforce and my sister was born in alaska. Did not like when it was dark all day in the winter and day light all summer but we got used to it .
I grew up in Anchorage. Spenard area by West High..... It's changed so much
Ive lived here in Alaska for nearly 50 years and never tire of of it’s beauty! Every day is a postcard . I encourage everyone to come and spend time exploring our beautiful state! Thank you for your post!
Lived in Alaska for 39 years and I drive by some of the stuff you took video of everyday. I guess sometimes when people tell you it's beautiful and how amazing is it, we Alaskan's take it for granted as it's here every single day for us. Truly do love it here.

Alaska is absolutely beautiful. People always think of warm weather for vacations , but they should give Alaska a chance. I loved it!

I live in Alaska, and drive back and forth from Anchorage to the Kenai Peninsula often, during the summer and fall months. It’s so awesome being able to see my “normal” views along the highway be interpreted from someone who’s never been here previously! Hope you enjoyed your stay! It’s an AMAZING state and I love with my whole heart.

When I was six my Family started going to Kenai in the summer to commercial fish at Cook Inlet we would go every summer and go back to arizona for the winter it was amazing I’m now 13 and my family owns an oyster farm In Wrangell but Kenai will always be a special place to me.

It’s really interesting to see peoples reactions to the mountains, trees, water, the nature of places like Alaska. I’m from British Columbia, so to me, that’s “normal” scenery. After I moved away a few years ago, I truly realized how special it is. Glad you got to enjoy Alaska ❤️
Next time you’re in ANC, go to Moose’s Tooth for the best pizza and local brews. It was a favorite place for us when we were stationed in AK. Beluga Sound is always gorgeous, the whole drive along the inlet is stunning. Glad you got to experience a little of ANC. 💙

Glad you were able to explore Alaska. I visit at least 3 times a year for the last 7 years. The Seward Highway is a feast on the eyes from every turn. So much to see and do. Anchorage is the gateway to all the top exploring things in Alaska. Love the video

Hello Julia!! My favorite part of the vlog is all of it!! I have always been interested in Alaska. My dad was a World War 2 Veteran, and he was stationed the whole time there. Fears of attacks by the enemy. Which did, in fact, happen. He had lots of stories about how pretty is was there. Your video did a wonderful job of showcasing the beauty of Alaska!! @@Tux.Penguin I generally rely on lonely planet guides but sometimes you have just got to do what Julia does & get out to explore as the crew have very limited time to get a good overview before prioritising later on subsequent visits.

If you grew up in Vegas, Alaska would definitely be cold to you. I live in the Palm Springs area and think anywhere it snows is too cold. The scenery in this video is breathtaking. Great job Julia!

Really happy for you, being able to see Alaska for the first time. I'm 67 and during my career I traveled all over the world and am now living in my 7th country. But I still remember the joy of seeing so many of the world's wonders for the first time.

Wow, it is so wonderful to see you walking around where I live! I live just a few blocks from where you caught your shuttle bus at the downtown visitor center. I may have walked by you on the sidewalk! I've lived in Anchorage for 33 years, and your enthusiasm re-inspired me to enjoy the wondrousness of my own backyard. We've had a relatively warm autumn. You were fortunate to have temperatures above freezing and little snow. I plan to go to 49th State and appreciate their delicious burger. If you have time on you next layover, check out the glacier (and whale) cruises out of Seward (instead of Portage). There are several storefronts along 4th Avenue directly across from the visitor center that have details about the Seward whale and glacier tours.
I’m so glad you were able to go to Alaska that is my favorite state to layover. It definitely is beautiful there the scenery alone. If you get the chance to go back I recommend Snow City Cafe to have breakfast there.

The thing that I miss the most about that part of the country is the smell! there's nothing like the smell of Oregon Washington and Alaska the trees the rainforest it's just a heavenly smell. I'm so glad that you got an opportunity to do the trip you've always wanted to do thanks for sharing it with us.

The landscapes that you could see from those lookout points literally made my jaw drop ! The snow caps on each of the mountains were unreal. I also can't get over how at ease all those animals look just walking around. Aside from those wolves who were fighting, but they're not that far removed from domesticated dogs, so that's just dogs being dogs, at the end of the day haha I can see why you wanted this trip !

That WAS INCREDIBLE !!. My Mom went with her friend a while back and really enjoyed it so much as well. I can’t wait to see “ where we’re going to next “ !. I work weekends at Domino’s and I feel the same about my job as well !. Pursuing a Flight Attendant Career is my Dream Job. But right now I am just fine with working at Domino’s. Keep being positive Julia !.
My wife and I were in Alaska and drove along the Seward Highway down to Beluga Point. We were there in November and it was breathtakingly beautiful. Snow covered mountains across the Turn Again Arm. Frozen waterfalls on the cliffs. It was a magical wonderland and felt like a different planet. Magnificent epic landscape views everywhere. Unbelievably beautiful. Super nice people there too. We love Alaska. Thanks for the video. Glad you liked it too.
Glad you enjoyed your time in Alaska. I was stationed in Alaska for 3.5 years and loved it. You need to go back in summer to truly enjoy the splendor of the scenery.

Im so glad you got to see Alaska. I took a cruise in 2008 with my daughters and we just loved it.. I felt like if you didnt believe in God before you arrived there you had to before you left. I know exactly how you feel when you talk about gratitude for your travels. I had a similar career, not a flight attendant, but worked as a consultant for hotels. Saw SO many things.... and Anchorage was always a highlight for me also. :)

Absolutely magical. No, you're not cheesy at all Julia. My eyes would've welled up too, seriously. Impossible to pick a favorite part . Maybe the animals. You look so cute in the winter duds :) I adored your dress-up scene. Sweater is super cool. And, as you were showing us that, I was thinking "hmm, did she get a magnet"? Julia, I live right in Anchorage, i am very lucky to have lived here all my life. If you want some local tips on what to do, let me be your guide. I love that drive down to portage, it changes each time you go. If you are looking for a glacier tour, there are several up to the Mat-Su glacier in the North and the 26 glacier tour out of whitter is good also.
Loved the blog, I was actually born in Anchorage but live in Colorado now. I have been back to Alaska a few times and just love it so much. Definitely want to move back there but it sure has gotten expensive!
