- Its going to be a journey, and Im Taking you guys with me. From drills to matches, from tournaments to workouts. You'll see it all on this new series. ROAD TO 11. Lets get after it!!!
These program setup are so awesome. One big takeaway for me (not to undermine the program though) on this is to learn to be humble. Take in the humility and use them to inspire you forward or back on forward again if you're restarting. You'll relieve some people from having injuries as well with this video program. I want to add also that the video program is becoming more livelier to watch and we can grow with it.
Greatly appreciated input 🙏😁
Well put. I feel playing points - especially in a real tournament scenario - is always different and adds spice to the mix. No matter how much we are telling ourselves to be relaxed and swing freely - there is always this bit of nervousness creeping in that does affect our ability to hit as relaxed as during practise. As you put it - humbling ...
Wow! Can’t believe I came across this. An old mutual friend shared with me lol.
Good luck on your road to 11!
I'm curious 🤔 whose the mutual friend
It’s Kat from d&e. For his privacy I’m gonna say AB lol.
@katrinatiedeman739 oh tell homeboy I said he needs to call me 😁 I was trying to track him down
Haha. I knew you’d figure it out.
And no kidding! I’ll let him know.
Great to have you back bro! Hopefully, you’ll make it back down to VA and play Dill again. This Road to Eleven sounds like is gonna be a winner 👍🏿👊🏿
I'm in the tough part now, which is the conditioning
@@ironwilltennis Yup. Training and conditioning sucks but the payoff makes it worth it 💪🏿
Keeping up a channel - as regularly as you do - takes up a ton of time. This makes it harder for you to get back into the game competitively, I suppose. The key word here is "under practiced", as you humbly said. I am pretty sure you will make great improvements, which ultimately will translate into more confidence when playing matches, especially when working with your current and future collaborators. Good luck!
Thank you for the kind words 🙏 I'm really looking forward to this project 😁
I've heard that the biggest barriers to people hitting the really high UTRs are pure athleticism and strategy, and you're exceptional in both. I think you can probably hit 12, realistically
I greatly appreciate the words of support, I hope I can get there as well 🙏 if not it won't be from lack of effort
I’m hype for this 🙌🏽
I'm excited for this project as well 😁
Looking forward to this.
I'm excited to get going. This is a fun project
Good luck with the series! I just started a Road to UTR 10.0 series as well :) Looking forward to see how you get on, where are you based and what tournaments will you be playing?
Thanks for the vote of confidence 👍 Im Based In the states. East coast
I also thought you were hesitant. I do have to say I love the amount of spin you got off your serve. I am curious if you felt your serve motion might be too compact. You clearly look like you can serve hard balls but was wondering if you can serve with more power by a longer take-back. I say that because I am trying to see what works for me and if anything I feel my current serving style was more like your opponent. Good luck!!!
I did notice that my service motion has gotten a little smaller. I believe that isa biproduct of coaching. but I am actively working to undo it.😁
@Will: Can you talk bout intensity. I feel my game improved quite a bit over the last few months. Well I got to be specific: My game as in my feel for the ball, timing etc is improving. Still the proof is in the games in the end. What I realise there is intensity is lacking. Very likely it is the game factor - more hesitation to swing freely; the 'fear' of making a mistake; the need to win points leads to e.g. backhand slice rather than stepping in and rolling it aggressively. Can you share your experience here ?
On another note: I saw Giron play Karue Sell on a different video. I noticed, Karue has a different style as in he seems very controlled. Giron obviously is at another level playing ATPs regularly etc. Still I find the intensity of Giron way way higher than Karue's . Is it my perception or do you see it the same way ? Look forward to your comments. Regards from Singapore ;-)
this is great. I like to see how you prepare/deal w/ tournaments. Last time I ended up having 2 singles and 2 doubles matches on a Saturday. Fortunately, they use a 10 pt. tie breaker in lieu of a 3rd set. First two matches were great. But after that I pretty much had to push the ball b/c I was spent. Will you also do USTA leagues? If you haven't played in a while, you could do 4.5? Many of the teaching pros here play 4.5 league and open division in tournaments b/c there aren't 5.0 teams.
I'm hesitant to do leagues because then you are locked into a committed schedule and that takes away the ability to adjust the schedule of recording
Woo lets go!!!
Let's get after it!!!
Looking forward to this series! Gotta’ have the camera in the middle of the court, though, not to the side… please ;)
I'm playing around with different angles. The club where I shoot sometimes, has curtains that are a little close If you want to safely play a set unfortunately. But in other places I can definitely set it up that way
W IW, L Gerardo, no rizz.
That's hilarious 😂
