remember when Hasbros shamelessly released that $20 Spider-Ham, that too 6 years ago? and this figure in 2024 costs $15

That whitish paint-thing between their eyes is actually intentional. In the movies they did it to get rid of Sonic's single eye with to pupils, but to still remain the outlines of it. So, on a $15 figure such a thing just doesn't look really good.

@@RaiJolt2they really don’t lol I enjoy going to target each week to see what they stock up but man I’d appreciate it if they made them more available sometimes. It’s a lot better now but like the day wave 1 released they were sold out EVERYWHERE…and eBay had them listed for like $30-$40 by scalpers 🫠
Just picked up the Super Sonic and they've actually given him a sparkling yellow paint job. Looks amazing..........these figures are way better than they should be for the price. Jakks knocked them out the park

Some of the sonic prime figures are close to the games, like the shadow figure from that line has lots of articulation and looks a lot like the game
@@sammarchetti9143they have , the new shadow the hedgehog collectors edition is based on the games it comes with a bunch of stuff like wings extra faces , and it poses and looks incredible
I think the reason that Sonic's head has those dark spike colors and the mold line as well the ears been a separate from the mold is because probably this was suppose to be a light up head feature to simulate his speed power at some point, but they decided to not do it and instead include that feature to the super form instead. Its pretty much the same thing with the Super Sonic and Super Shadow which they have those strange spikes that allows the light to go trough much easier for their power up light gimmick.
It's an awesome toy. I wouldn't call it a collectible if that's what people are looking for. But for me to play with my boys, the line is great toys.

@@AnthonysCustomsThat was my thoughts exactly! I debated between getting these and the regular 4 inch (non-movie) inspired line for the kiddos. Ultimately I went with these.
I think it works as either. It's intended as a toy for kids but is well made enough that it can be a collectible should one choose to use it as such
I miss the days when Marvel Legends were just $15. That was the max I was willing to pay for them. Now I just wait for clearance. The blue lines in Sonic's head are his quills. They are supposed to glow.
The clear lines on the back of the Sonic figure was supposed to have a light up feature which they re-released him in a 4 pack with Shadow, Knuckles, and Tails (with tails having an angry head sculpt) they axed the light up feature on the first wave reiease but did it on the 4 pack which removed head movement and torso movement. They did it too with the Super Sonic having those clear lines and Shadow by re-releasing Super sonic with a light up feature but making a new figure being Super shadow.

@AnthonysCustoms it's a plastic mold inside but you get the idea since I'm guessing they released the first wave way too quickly and originally wanted to add the light up feature but held off me to do it on the packs. They may make a fourth wave of figures since we got a super shadow with light up features as I mentioned maybe they might make him without the light up features. Only issue idk who else they might make maybe it being Eggman's grandfather and the *spoiler* character we see at the end.
No they’re not. It’s on him because the thought process was if you shine a light through it the eyes light up. It just didn’t work well. Its not remnants of the light up figures
.....................Shadow is everyones favorite character. I won't be shocked if there is a solo Shadow movie. Seriously.....do the movie guys. You will only make more money. And it's Shadow voiced by Reeves. But seriously I want a Shadow movie.
i knew i would like it but i wasn't expecting to enjoy it so much, makes me wish i was more of a sonic fan
The blue quill marks and seam line on the back of the head are from the light function featured on Sonic from a 4 pack at Targét. So i guess they just used the mold feom that figure. I think now that these are hit amongst the collecting community, we will get another wave of Sonic 3 figs with a hero Sonic figure.

I can’t wait to see people make customs of these that look closer to the games. My brother bought these and they’re a ton of fun to pose around. I think he’ll fit right into a smash brothers display with the SH Figuarts Mario line
It's all pretty damning when a 2/3 inch Sonic arm has more articulation then an entire King Kong McFails-figure...
So much fun. I have Sonic and Shadow, and both purchases put a big smile on my face. It was a nice break from the subtle but unmistakable weariness that comes from collecting most other retail figures.
I have Super Sonic & the Cheaper Shadow that came with the bike…..that he used for literally 40 secs 😓. But it was the only one I could find and I regret not picking them all up….even Robotic the 1st day I noticed them in Walmart haven’t seen them all together Since 😭. Also saw a Knuckles at GameStop .
I picked this up at walmart a while back..he actually fits well with the Mario and Luigi. I got Mario and Luigi for $10 each at Ollies.
Spanish Amazon has these figures but they are not in stock and even though they want to charge for them now they will only ship them in between 3 to 7 months.
I wouldn't mind owning them but I don't feel like waiting more then 3 months, specially if I have to pay upfront for them.

3:55 I guess Sonic having Soap shoes is a rarity because of the limited brand deal or whatever, but they could totally fudge it and name them something different... that Adventure 2 look is choice for Sonic, no question.
the weird clear blue head quills are because jakks used the same head sculpt on this and the light up figure that is included in the target exclusive 4 pack
Such a good figure, such a solid movie. Great stuff. I love them both but Big Blue is probably my favorite of the Two. Love the simplicity of him. A fun gun who loves adventure.
Yea sonics head definitely isn’t as good. Although the clear pieces are for when he uses his powers

The weird things in the hair are clear blue plastic they made it for the light up sonic from the 4 pack set including a light up shadow, they used the same head to save money I think

I own many Sonic figures and yes I agree, this is definitely one of the best Sonic figures despite being from the movies.
Can’t wait for the Super Shadow to drop, hopefully in the next wave 🦔
Can’t even start to describe how cool these look, especially for the price they’re not perfect but this is the prime example of how much very figure should be, the QC for sonic is worse but we can see the effort that was put here, it’s amazing

For 15 bucks and compared to what you get for the price and even with all the defects it gets 100/10
The arm on my sonic was loose I admit it, some defects are just bee but hey.

As a figure, I enjoy Sonic more, with the lighter head and the regular hips instead of the Y-joints Shadow has, making him easier to pose. Both are excellent figures and Jakks really outdid themselves with these. Tails less so but still.
Knuckles is part of Wave 2 alongside Super Sonic, which may be why it's hard to find in the US for the time being. As a European I'll have to wait a few more weeks at least to get them I guess. Wave 3 leaked a while back and contains, and this is spoilers for the movie for those who don't want to know, Super Shadow alongside a repack of Knuckles, Sonic with the Master Emerald and Gerald Robotnik.

Sonic and shadow did not wear the same shoes in Sonic adventure 2. Shadow has rocket boots, Sonic’s shoes were only for grinding. Sonic’s movie shoes are licensed to PUMA so they probably won’t change

He’s only the only 1 I have from target. Shadow all I could find is a glow in the dark version & a one with a bike. Just wanted a single release like this.
I saw a shelf full of sonic, tails, and shadow, at gamestop. I'm guessing knuckles is the hardest one to find.
I don’t remember my regular sonic having that head mold , only the one with the light up feature. They probably messed up by accident
My favorite character from the Sonic franchise is E-102 "γ" (Gamma) from Sonic Adventure
The dark blue on his quils are light piping like a transformer, shine light in it and they glow. Only issue, it barely works! So they just stay there and look ugly
I think Shadow is supposed to have a lot more melanin in his skin compared to Sonic, yeah.
4:43 they are supposed to be a bit different with Shadow having more of a darker tone to his muzzle/mouth thingy, Sonic's definitely a bit pale here tho
I still think this line is underrated, they're definitely in my 10 of the year, especially in the articulation department

The black lines in his hair are because he’s going fast!
My only issue is the finger articulation. The way the thumb is looked really odd if you open up the fingers.
I did a mod where I was able to open up the index finger. Kind of looks like a trigger finger. Heat up hand take peg out and slice down the side of index with razor blade. Put peg and hand back and wuuuuaahla
Out of sonic and shadow, knuckles is my favorite character. I've never played a game with shadow in it

Jakks. Gave this figures as much love as the writers did with the movie.. sonic skonnit is. Lighter thah. Shadows thats acurate... Super sonoc is phenomenal. And. Knickles as well hope. You can find it and review it ... If you cant. Find the sibgle rrlease. The 4 pack is. Easier to find and the kight up frature inn those sinic and shadow are worth reviewing as well

Shadow has always had darker skin than sonic

@@AnthonysCustoms depends on the game/artwork but his skin is generally darker, on some the cover art of SA2 it shows the biggest difference and almost every shadow figure I’ve had has been that much darker whether it’s accurate or not

I don’t think sonic is supposed to be THAT pale but Sonic’s “skin” tone is typically lighter than shadows, shadow has a tan for some reason compared to sonic in most games I’ve seen him in
