    Just bought this after checking out the Ola lessons and these are fantastic workouts. I like that these are more than just exercises. These are giving me ideas on things to add to my soloing already.

    Jon what course is this video from? Do you have more arpeggio courses other than the one you dropped a couple days ago? Also do you have lessons on combining scales and arpeggios together on your patreon? Thank you!

      Not yet but I have a hard time most people have gone through the shapes in the one I posted a few days ago.
      Yes, I have 3 workouts specifically for that in the Guitar Gym tier.

    these are very challenging for me, that big stretch, then the rolling technique, trying not to let the strings ring together, I got the first one memorized, and playing it at extreme retard speed, its going to be at least a month before I'm comfortable enough to practice this with a metronome, I most likely will start at 30bpm, its going to take me at least two years to play this at 120bpm and that's practicing only the first one for 25 minutes a day

      You can always move the shapes up to a more comfortable place on the fretboard for practice. These shapes will take some time to get together but they're worth it since they're so usable and show up all the time.

      @@JonBjork I just finally got the arrpegio down, the stretch is no longer daunting, I'm still moving at a very slow speed, still not comfortable enough to put it to a metronome yet, I keep working at it, 5 minutes a day, thanks!

    The stretch you do from the 4th fret to the 9th fret on the A string just kills my left hand. I have good sized hands. I don't understand how you do that stretch without hurting yourself.
    Do you do a set of exercises to get that flexibility? I've been playing 35 years and that stretch is so hard. I'm shocked that you can do that stretch effortlessly.

    • @JonBjork
      @JonBjork  6 месяцев назад

      That stretch isn’t bad though since it’s not a pull off. Simply stretch your hand as much as you can naturally to get as close as possible and then shift the remaining bit.
      It’s only pull offs where you need to be stretching the full width.
      So the high e string parts are worse in these shapes.
      Just make sure that you never push through any pain or discomfort. I’ve never done any stretching exercises as I don’t believe it’s worth potentially hurting the hand.
