  • Join me as I explore the country house and gardens at Buscot Park near Faringdon in Oxfordshire, England. I was amazed at the excellent level of upkeep in this place and it thoroughly exceeded my expectations. There are so many points of interest! I would thoroughly recommend a visit to anyone already planning to do so or if anyone is in the area. Opening times are currently a bit strange being 2-6 in the afternoon but if you can adjust your schedule to fit then you may well be rewarded (as was I). Many thanks for watching, and please correct me if I was wrong on any of my terminology or identifications of trees or features. Adam :)

Oh! This one is a real beauty! 10:00 The Pre-Raphielite room! Burne-Jones, or Rosetti. My God, the art in this house! Next comes the Itallian Rennaisance room, then the staircase room with possibly a Whistler on the right, which is not shown... Art in every medium is top priority here, ending with the Hermes fountain and finally the sunbathing frog! Thank you.

Burne-Jones.. The Briar Rose... Kelmscott Manor is just down the road towards Lechlade on the Thames, home of William Morris. Both members of the Pre-Rapaelite Brotherhood. Buscot House owned by Lord Faringdon, paintings are part of the Faringdon Collection.

I was amazed at how beautiful and well kept the gardens and grounds were. It's a fantastic place and I wasn't really expecting it to be quite as good as it was. Very impressed :)

Somebody spends their entire working life cutting those hedges & that grass everywhere ! I do not like the murky water - does not look inviting at all ! The trees are beautiful however. Just so much garden, and inside the house so much 'stuff' it is suffocating - I love old interesting things - in small quantities, just hate it all stuffed together so you can barely see what's there for the quantity of it. Wealth gone mad !

Fair enough! :) Yeah, there is a lot of 'stuff' in the house to be fair. Love the gardens and grounds though, although the water could have been a bit clearer on the day. Thanks for watching my video, I appreciate it. Adam :)

Very nice Presentation. I was the head decorator in the rehabilitation of Ca 'D Zan in Sarasota Florida. Therefore, I have a special understanding of this timeless beauty. Thanks for uploading your thoughtful work.

Thanks again! Thanks for mentioning my voice too as I'm never too sure how people take it as I live in an area called Dudley (near Birmingham) and apparently we have one of the worst accents in the country, so it's just good to know people can understand me, for a start. Very nice to know that it sounds calming. Thanks again, Adam :)

Hello Adam. I can’t say enough wonderful things about the gardens. Truly stunning. The gardens just seem to keep going & going! It amazes me how once u have seen one section, & will see a pathway leading to a new discovery of something enchanting (based on what u have already seen). The pathway to the next is long enough so it’s kept secret for a bit. Then u reach yet another discovery even better than the last. Whoever designed these gardens is a genius. Now the house… it was wonderful to see all the art works &statues. They definitely were art lovers. The ceilings were wonderful as well. Thank u for the hard work u do not only in finding & going to these magnificent locations, but in learning about its historical importance &pass that on to us. I’m a big history buff so this is invaluable to me. Thank u, thank u. Take care.

Thanks again Tina. I enjoy learning about these places and then going to visit to see what the reality is like, so it's all a pleasure really. I'm a bit of a history fan too myself! Yeah, I was genuinely amazed by the quality of these gardens and how well they were maintained. Really really great work by all involved. Adam :)
