Chris Stapleton's bluesy, gritty, soulful voice & his guitar really do it for me! His version of "Tennessee Whiskey" is the best I've EVER heard! You guys need to listen to "Cold" from his latest album Starting Over! Check out his rock style on "Barely Alive" (acoustic version); "Inside Your Head" & his cover of the Allman Brothers band's "Whippping Post"! His "What Are You Listening To" is another great cut! Listen, there's NO SUCH THING as a bad Chris Stapleton song; so, just check it all out! He's scheduled to appear here in Charlotte, NC, USA in August & I'm REALLY hoping to see him! Thanks for this reaction Bros! Peace!
Hey George & Patrick! It's Jen! Chris Stapleton can make anyone a fan with just the first line of a song. Chris is country but he has strong roots in blues & fuses country with his signature blues/rock vibe. The woman singing the chorus with him is his beautiful wife Morgane who is his an accomplished singer also. I definitely recommend this rabbit hole. Here are the specific songs & videos: - "I Was Wrong" (Live at Austin City Limits) - "It's A Man's World" (yes, this is James Brown song. He was invited on stage WITHOUT planning & simply tore it UP! James has big shoes to fill. You better bring it. Watch the bands reaction of amazement.) - "Tennessee Whiskey/Drink You Away" with Justin Timberlake at the CMA Awards. (Oh my Lord, fasten your seatbelt for a good time) - "Sometimes I Cry" (Bing Lounge) - "Say Anything" Justin Timberlake featuring Chris (Justin wrote this for them. The ENTIRE video is sung & taped live in one shot.) - "Fire Away" - "Cold" Do NOT sleep on any of these or you will be missing out. Chris has a huge fan base. The views will come. ENJOY! 🎵❤✌
Hey George & Patrick🙋🏻♀️ I 10000000% AGREE with Jen’s recommendations here. I 20000000% recommend you start with the (2)Justin Timberlake collaborations- and in the ORDER in which Jen suggested. YOU WILL FREAK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!❤️
YES.... To ALL of the above!!! You're gonna love all of it, but "Say Something" with Justin Timberlake is especially moving for me.... Both, musically and lyrically. It hits my soul different!
@@gingeroo5765 Thank you! I'm glad you noticed the order I put them in. You're awesome & a true Chris fan I see. I've always felt that was the best line up that keeps you wanting more & more! Your suggestion is noted - next time I make this list I will think about that one!! ❤🎵✌ George & Patrick are going to love this rabbit hole.
@@jennhurl Yes they are, and I’m fairly convinced they already have placed both feet in that rabbit hole’s mouth but only time will tell. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that they do..🤞🏻... (along with grunge as well!😆) 😘✌🏻
You need to see him perform this song LIVE with Justin Timberlake at the CMA Awards 2015... They do two songs back to back. The second one is JT's and it's called "Drink you Away"... it is complete 🔥!! A spectacular live performance!!
When I'm in the country music mood .. Chris Stapleton is in my top 3 to listen to. What a great voice but y'all need to see him perform!!! Just fyi .. I'm a sub & I tickled the bell a good while back not long after y'all started. Lol. So I think Patrick has a smooth Tennessee whiskey sweet strawberry wine warm brandy kind of Girl .. wink wink. Haha y'all b safe & well .. keep rocking .. peace out🤘🏼✌🏼💓SUCH FUN😊
Rolling Stone magazine called Chris an "Accidental" Country star (2016 issue, it's pretty great story)). He spent years as a songwriter in Nashville, writing songs for the likes of Kenny Chesney and Country music's "King" George Strait (just to name a few). This guy is an amazing talent and a great human being. Recommend you checkout this song in his Austin City Limits, LIVE performance. It blows the studio version out of the water. (IMO) Plus, you'll get to see his guitar skills and his wife Morgan performing with him.(she's his background singer)
This is actually a cover of an old-timey Country song from years ago. I looked up one of the older versions. I wouldn't have given those a second thought. Wow. When it's in Chris Stapleton's hands it is suddenly exceptional!
I wondered if you guys were gonna get around to some Chris Stapleton! This guy is more than amazing and can literally sing anything thrown at him. It’s a rabbit hole!! 🤣🤣
Hey dudes. Unlike a lot of the fantastic songs you’re reacting too, Chris is a new era. He is just beginning his career and if he hangs in for the long haul I expect he’ll be a once (maybe twice, or three) in a lifetime talent that you’ll be able to see in his prime live. Bless him and you guys. His wife sings along with him so fingers crossed he’ll have the love he needs to ride along.
Why has it been over a year since you reacted to Chris Stapleton? It seemed like you reallllly loved him. I hope you try his music again. I Was Wrong live at Austin City Limits and I Cry at the Bing Lounge. Both will blow you away. Thanks
Absolutely love Chris Stapleton and this track in particular. An artist that no channel haas reacted to is “Stick Figure”, from Hawaii, one great song of his is “Angels Above Me”. Truly, it will blow you away. Lovin your work guys, keep it up.
One of the BEST songs out there. There just r NO WORDS that will suffice Be well, safe and happy....esp during these trying times Fr across the waters Canada 🇨🇦 🐥❣️🐥hugs and all that shite
There is a video of he with Justin Timberlake performing this song and “Drink You Away” live at a country music awards show. It is PHENOMENAL! Will blow you away! Please review it. 🤗
If you want to be even more amazed by Chris' voice, check out his cover of James Brown's its a man's world. Immensely talented and one of the true country artists of the past decade.
I agree with your other listeners. You would thoroughly enjoy watching him perform this song live with Justin Timberlake at the CMA awards. Also, Chris did an impromptu appearance on stage with a band and where he sang James Brown's song "It's A Man's World". Holy !!!!!!!
Great reaction, guys! Chris Stapleton has such a soulful voice. He has many more great tunes - "I was Wrong" and "Sometimes I Cry" are amazing. As for your songs from every state - I submit "Ridin' The Storm Out" (REO Speedwagon) and "Rocky Mountain Way" (Joe Walsh(from The Eagles)) from the great state of Colorado.....truly God's country! Enjoy!
Damn, watching you two get so much joy from music makes me so happy. I'd love to see you react to Shinedown's version of Simple Man. The vocals are so pure.
It's a shame y'all aren't hitting on some of the greatest recordings out there by Mr Stapleton ..so much talent in this guy. So many genres he can annihilate.
Actually George, didn't you and Patrick start doing reactions in November last year? I may be wrong but that would make it about six months - it's amazing how time passes! It's been so good watching your reactions to all the various music - I've certainly found it really enjoyable and of course still finding it enjoyable! This song Tennessee Whiskey is a great country song and does calm you down and make you feel better which is what we all need at this present time. It's interesting that in the US whiskey has an 'e' and in Scotland it is whisky without an 'e' - I'm sure it all has the same effect! Many thanks for another great reaction, guys, cheers.
I am responding 3 years after this video was dropped. Chris is almost always better live than recorded. I say almost because there is one song that is better on the recording. It is not because of Chris, it is because of the instrumentation behind this chilling song "Death Row". Live you miss all the nuances of the background sounds that transport you to prison. Well worth the listen believe me. Also Chris was a member of the rock band "The Jompson Brothers" and the bluegrass band "The Steeldrivers". Both are worth checking out. And last but never least check out Chris with live covers of James Brown "It's a Man's World" and the Allman Bro's "Whipping Post". All other suggestions are fantastic too.
Please do the group the SteelDrivers with Chris Stapleton “can you run” “ trees that make thunder” “ If it hadn’t been for love”. Adele has covered the latter in a great performance as well.
"Sometimes I Cry" (live at The Bing Lounge) really, really should be next, followed by "I Was Wrong." Also, his duet with Justin Timberlake, which is a medley of this song plus "Drink You Away" (live performance, at some kind of Awards show) is a must-watch too. Their other duet, "Say Something" you should watch the official video, and aside from appreciating the music, see if you can identify something unusual -- and frankly, remarkable -- about the way the video is made.
You should check out "Blood in the Water" by Chris while fronting a rock band by the name of The Jompson Brothers. He's great no matter what style of music he's performing.
Your reactions are priceless to this great, soulful song! Check out his song "Cold" and also "Knowing You" by Kenny Chesney. Now I need to go find some whiskey...☺
Justin Timberlake and Chris Stapleton Live at CMA AWARDS. FANTASTIC. Chris Stapleton wife is also on stage,
Yes yes yes! Such a superb performance, I love them together.
"I was Wrong" is amazing. Chills every time I hear it. Of course, I haven't heard a bad Stapleton song yet.
You really need to listen to COLD, it is fantastic 👌Nobody does it like Chris Stapleton
He has an Amazing new song out." COLD" !!!
“Sometimes I cry” by Stapleton live from the bing lounge. It will blow your mind!
Lmao..Patrick..."dude what a vocal he has"....as George slowly sinks into the chair!!

“Sometimes I cry live at The Bing Lounge “ should really be your next one. Just Chris, a guitar and a microphone. Absolutely amazing!
Loved your reactions, Patrick and George. You really appreciate talent when you hear it. Stapleton's voice is as smooth as Tennessee Whiskey.❤

Yes!! Austin City Limits performance is awesome....

You really can't go wrong with any Chris Stapleton song
Put this on and slow dance with your person. It’s sublime... ☺️
Watch the epic 2015 CMA awards show with Christ Stapleton & Justin Timberlake. One if the best performances ever! They rock the socks of everyone
I love the pure simple melody/ harmony - sounds, so so sweet. The moment I got chills PAT you said the same thing! Love it!
whenever somebody says they dont like country music i play em this song and they cant deny the talent this man has

He has such an amazing voice
“Midnight Train To Memphis” 🔥🔥 That’s his wife Morgane singing with him ♥️♥️ Chris is amazing 🔥 Big voice & an even bigger fan base ♥️
Now you should listen to Cold by him. It's awesome
A must is his new single “Cold”.... a masterpiece in how diverse Chris is.
Chris is a good ole Kentucky boy. He could sing the songbook and make it unique.
This Artist and the group Brothers Osbourn is why this old 70s classic rock guy loves country.
Please, more Chris Stapleton, guys!!!!!
This is actually a cover of an old-timey Country song from years ago. I looked up one of the older versions. I wouldn't have given those a second thought. Wow. When it's in Chris Stapleton's hands it is suddenly exceptional!
Ive never listened to chris stapleton and my reaction to this was the exact same as you guys. More of this!
Damn,,,,,,,!!!!!! Music,,,, we love it. A good artist can contribute more to society than any damn politician can.
Oh and his wife who does background vocals for him has killer vocals also!
I wondered if you guys were gonna get around to some Chris Stapleton! This guy is more than amazing and can literally sing anything thrown at him. It’s a rabbit hole!! 🤣🤣
