I just love the design! Someone said, "you can love it or hate it." But I just LOVE the design. Sleek, boxy, modern design that will detract other car owners on the road. I am reminded of that very old Onida TV adv caption in India: "Owners' pride, neighbors envy".
11L per 100ks has to be a mistake. I just spent 6 weeks driving around Europe in a Tucson hybrid. Loaded with 4 adults and all our gear even on long trips on the autobahn travelling at around 130kph it never used more than about 6L per 100ks.

This is the main reason I bought a Ford Everest Platinum instead of Hyundai Santa Fe Calligraphy. Sometimes we are so focused on the features that we neglect the “car” ( engine / transmission etc) part of the cars ..
This recall is in the US for the 2.5L non hybrid 8 speed dct transmission. There is no recalls for the hybrid model which uses a tried and tested 6 speed transmission. The one found in all Australian models.
Fuel figures have to be wrong, Cost of this thing for a 7 seater is still cheap as chips. A pretty bloody good option if you ask me. The mid spec is the one for me though. Front wheel drive no thanks, I made that mistake in our current CX8. Never again.
@@jace888au yes very strange. I have the calligraphy which is 300kg heavier and the worst I’ve had is 6.9 l/100km. Over the last 2000km I’ve averaged 6.6. My only guess is it wasn’t driven very far.

The stupid alarms are dangerous, they can be very startling and shock a person while driving . Hyundai need an override button or a firm ware update asap on this new model . It seems a bit too thirsty on highway as it is a very heavy 2.5 tones but needed fuel burn to be closer to 5.5 - 6.0 litres per 100 ks for highway driving where you are maintaining 110 ks, but we are seeing fuel consumption on the high side around 7.8 up to 9.0 litres.Fuel in Australia is now way too expensive always sitting around 220per litre and every sign it will get to $3.00per litre by early 2025. @@robertduclayan2298correct. We just did a road trip from Adelaide to Melbourne with 7 of us loaded up in our calligraphy hybrid and averaged 7L per 100km.
This hyundai is very urgly , its a box which means poor aerodynamics which adds to its poor fuel economy. Normally boxy vehicles go hand in hand with offroad , like a Jimny ,land cruiser, ford bronco, land rover, keep wrangler , but this is boxy for no reason. The hybrid model offsets the terrible fuel economy a little for being boxy, but its still bad for a hybrid. The non hybrid model is even worse The us non hybrid version gets 21mpg
I'm getting approx 7.6L per 100km. Driving AWD base version for approx 5 weeks.
