The majority of people who go missing in the bush simply underestimate the outdoors and how dangerous it is if your not prepared. I go hiking in the bush all the time and I've nearly been caught out a couple of times in areas that aren't even that remote.
@@fair98fair lost my bearings on a couple of occasions, once when it was like 35 degrees and didn't have much water left. I have been caught in the middle of a lightning storm that came out of nowhere, I checked the weather beforehand and nothing on radar, within an hour of my hike lightning was striking like 50 yards in front of me, was terrifying. Another time I got really breathless and faint (I have no health conditions and reasonably fit and healthy) but had recently gotten over a bad flu so put it down to that, this caused to lose my bearings a bit. All of these things happened in places that aren't too remote and I know pretty well, could of been a different story if it happened somewhere more vast and unfamiliar.
I will tell you all this as alpine deer hunter that has spent plenty of my life in the high country I've seen button man in the Thompson Valley at Store Point hut the next night he watched us skin a sambar from Junction hut then we saw him watching us drive out of Merringtons camp ground I've seen him on foot at Tanjil Bren I've saw him walking through Erica I've seen him walking through Bruntons Bridge the week later Then I've saw him a month or so later at Buchan I also the saw him several times at Wonnangatta Station but the most of all 2 places he is frequently there is a home made hut at Walhalla about 1km north of the town turn right this road takes you up the back of the cemetery his about 200 yards east of the entrance and the other spot is on the otherside of the road across a river on a bend between paradise Valley and licola
That's creepy af and now that you have said about seeing him in Erica, and Walhalla (about 30 or so mins away from where I live) I've just had a flashback of when I was at Tyers Wirilda river about 16 or 17 years ago with a couple of mates for a swim and we cooked some snags on the BBQs provided (After cleaning the fuck out of them of course!) And as soon as I started packing our stuff up this hermit looking guy (about 55 or 60) just appeared out of no where and came from the general direction of where there is no track or anything and started walking up in our direction after I said to my mates that if no one wants the left overs, I'm going to toss them so the birds can have a feed. He gave me goosebumps the way he just blended into the bush and we didn't notice him until he was 10ft away from us (the bushline was about 30metres away) He was in dirty tattered clothes with no shoes on and I can't recall excactly what he mumbled but it was something along the lines of giving him the left overs. I said no worries and put them on the bench and I said are you ok mate, where did you come from? to which he completely ignored me. I offered him a can of soft drink to which he snatched it from my hands pretty quick. we got the feeling that he'd been watching us and also that we weren't welcome. Scary for a 20 year old girl at the time too!! He just walked back into the tree line and disappeared into the surroundings. After hearing these descriptions and areas of where he's been spotted, I feel that this dude was most likely button man for sure.
So...the button man is known by police, gave a statement and people know his campsite is a good place to get reception...yet he is still the button man? BAHAHAHA...I love it, can't wait to meet him...full respect to all those and families of lost mentioned
The couples murderer was caught and faced court. If buttons chooses a life of seclusion leave him to it. He's been basically alone so long he'd probably seem ' different ' to many.
ive had an interesting interaction with him before up on bluff track......I would feel uneasy being up there alone but Its sad that there are people out there now actively looking for him
That's unwise. The best way to find someone like the Button Man is to just enjoy the space, mind your own business and travel a regular route through the bush. If he finds you interesting enough, he will appear.

Button man let him leave in peace please let him be he is a man that is at his own peace and we need to leave him
It sounds like the USA isn't the only country that has a sh*tload of unknown & unsolved disappearances in their National Parks for whatever reasons. Of course people do get lost and confused and die by natural causes and whatnot, but it seems like a very large number of people seem to disappear off the face of the Earth when they visit these National Parks and unfortunately their friends and family never get any answers as to what actually happened to them. I think that for most of these cases there are certain authorities that actually know what happened but they cover it up.¯\_(ツ)_/¯THAT'S JUST MY OPINION THOUGH ‼️💯
Would not surprise me if government cover ups were involved. There are no doubt plenty of those. The government is trying to cover up the cause of death of our 2nd son.
Australia has a tiny population compared to the U.S. America has more because more people visit the national parks there, don't think its a cover up,the vast majority are either unlucky or went out unprepared and paid the price. Obviously some will have met foul play but I'm willing to bet there in the minority.
@@rawdog314nah you should look up the mysterious deaths in Washington state alone. They basically deem all weird deaths “suicides” even there’s signs of harm that isn’t self inflicted. The single walker could have met his end at the hands of the Oona Poona there are many that have but no one wants to talk about that as that thought is too terrifying for most.

There may or may not have been two girls that disappeared in the 1800's but the movie and the book it was based on were purely works of fiction by the author. Still a good yarn though. Thanks again for your comment 😊
Picnic at Hanging Rock was a fictional novel by Joan Lindsay. It was first published in 1967. The plot was so eerie that people began to believe it was a true story.

Why do you think he is territorial there are entire communities living like this fighting over cave's public toilets and hidden campsite shacks built from pallets and sheet metal furnished with things people throw away the police move them on when they become noticed they tour around to different spots they know under bridges one night sleep in a cave or overhang the next.

This is just made by someone who has no idea of the Victorian or Australian bush. The maker 'shadow matter' has put shots of 'desert' scub and European forests. And a wide shot of a totally European or US forest. Australia does not have deciduous trees, so we get no autumrn colour. And the scrub shown is totally wrong for the area around Mansfield / and hight country where Button man lives or lives. Some shots show the escarpment of Blue mountains... about 1000 km north! Victorian high country looks nothing like that! Anyway, getting that stuff wrong indicates a whole lot of other stuff is likely to be wrong or misinformed too. ( just saying).
I'm already on edge when camping at night, especially after the murders of the couple and all those people missing. So if Button man or any other man wants to visit my campsite at night just to give me a 1000 yard stare then be prepared because I will be hightailing it out of there in the opposite direction not looking back even once. I will be hauling ass.
Just offer him some food to try to make peace with him. The description of the way he behaves, he seems to be patrolling his area and checking what goes on so he stops by at people's camps to have a chat. He's doing it at night to protect himself. If he needs to disappear to protect himself, he can melt away quickly and the people visiting the area won't know the area well enough to pursue him in the darkness if they want to do him harm. One must remember that at the root of human nature is a hunter of game and he's acting like one. Kangaroo tail stew would be a winner with him.
Yes I think so... I should really put a disclaimer comment on this video. It's been a while since I made this and totally forgot about it. Thanks for the heads up 🙂

I've seen button man in the Thompson Valley at
Store Point hut the next night he watched us skin a sambar from Junction hut then we saw him watching us drive out of Merringtons camp ground
I've seen him on foot at Tanjil Bren
I've saw him walking through Erica
I've seen him walking through Bruntons Bridge the week later
Then I've saw him a month or so later at Buchan I also the saw him several times at Wonnangatta Station but the most of all 2 places he is frequently there is a home made hut at Walhalla about 1km north of the town turn right this road takes you up the back of the cemetery his about 200 yards east of the entrance and the other spot is on the otherside of the road across a river on a bend between paradise Valley and licola
What sort of area are you taling about here? Are all these places within ?kms / walking distance of each other?
@@BL2197 75km radius but in those areas could be 3 to 5 day walk
Have you ever Communicated with Him? I sounds like he Isn't too fond of People?
After hearing these descriptions and areas of where he's been spotted, I feel that this dude was most likely button man for sure.

ive had an interesting interaction with him before up on bluff track......I would feel uneasy being up there alone but Its sad that there are people out there now actively looking for him

That's unwise. The best way to find someone like the Button Man is to just enjoy the space, mind your own business and travel a regular route through the bush. If he finds you interesting enough, he will appear.
I caught the bugger spying on us from a tree stand that I've used for years to hit sambar at O'Tooles camp ground past merringtons track and Junction hut half way to store point

I've heard of this folklore I used to have a bro that knew a bro that had an out of body experience when the button man looked into his eyes, he woke up back at home in bed and still had to go and pick up his truck.

Did the button man sell him some LSD perhaps?🤔

In Australia we don't blame it on a Sasquatch!
@@rawdog314nah you should look up the mysterious deaths in Washington state alone. They basically deem all weird deaths “suicides” even there’s signs of harm that isn’t self inflicted. They also couldn’t find the gun.

I've been thinking about doing some videos on Aussie Cryptids. That would be cool.
Hanging Rock has very little information based in truth. There may or may not have been two girls that disappeared in the 1800's but the movie and the book it was based on were purely works of fiction by the author. Still a good yarn though.

Drop bears & Trip spiders
How do you this is Bullsh*t without saying This is Bullshit!!
never heard of him
I'm already on edge when camping at night, especially after the murders of the couple and all those people missing.
Never - Never go alone.
A tracking system and at least one other person may help you in a difficult situation.
Best wishes to all
