@@ShadowMatterYT No need to pass the feedback on; they're psychics, they already know! Just get your bag from them so you can keep going strong.
Some hopefully constructive criticism regarding one tiny aspect of your videos is the amount of screen time taken up by the image sources that you compile. Don't be afraid to give the static images you compile some fractions of seconds (or even full seconds) longer, at the expense of the screen time given to the stock animation etc. You clearly spend quite some time finding and selecting these different images for use, possibly more time than the video scripts even take to research and write, and it's a shame that they flash by so quickly sometimes. It also gives the videos a "floatier" mood when the animated segments are interspersed with the brief glimpses of static images; the eye will try to adjust on a focal point to perceive information only to have that removed and replaced by multiple moving points of focus... it's a personal preference but I feel like the "floaty mood" doesn't do justice to the work put in by some creators.
The animation/b-roll type stuff is visually intriguing (and specifically in your videos, usually quite spectacular to watch and pleasing in the consistency of the channel aesthetic - it's fun stuff) and give a good hook to grab attention but it's not the actual strongest element of your work *once that attention has been obtained* . If people do watch one of your videos and make it even a quarter of the way through, then by that time you know that they are probably around for the rest and won't be turned off in boredom just because there hasn't been anything moving on screen for a second or two, especially since the images you source are usually very well selected. It genuinely feels like you take the extra time compared to some of the hacky stock-image dependent "first-image-on-google-search" aesthetic lazily adopted by some creators.
I hope that some of this makes sense, not at all sure if I've managed to explain it successfully, but hopefully you understand most of all that this is not intended as negative criticism in any way.

    • @ShadowMatterYT
      @ShadowMatterYT  Год назад

Thanks again for your honest feedback I really do appreciate it.
Yes you're halfway right about the research/scripting vs editing the video. Sometimes it is way longer to research and script and others take a lot longer to edit and source clips/images it really just depends on the subject. And a few are about the same length of time to do both. On average I spend about 60 to 70+ plus hours to produce one video. This is usually done in my free time away from my "real job" and just life in general. Thanks so much for taking the time to check out the video and comment your thoughts. All of it really does help me to become a better content creator.
You sound like you have some good knowledge on the subject of video/content producing and would love to hear/read more comments giving constructive criticism in the future.
      Cheers

There’s a similar ghost legend along Wilfred Barrett Drive to Norah Head where a ghost hitchhiker that’s a young girl stops you, gets in and then disappears!!
Been many times to the Picton mushroom tunnel at night. It’s very eerie but no ghosts. The shapes people see are the puddles of water on the ground reflected by the tunnel entry. The great thing is though that to feel that sensation of total darkness and no sound makes it feel really spooky. More scared of weird people than ghosts.

I’ve seen a few big cats in the bush in my younger years when I was a soldier, we saw one in bush around Mt Victoria 1987 that never knew we were there we were silent and it position using camouflage and concealment the cat was never in any danger but after around 90 seconds picked up our scent and was gone. It was too big and tactical to be a domestic cat but seemed too small for a “big cat”3 options 1/ A multi generational feral cat who has evolved through nature 2/ A young early juvenile “big cat” 3/ Someone slipped Victoria mushrooms into our brews without our knowledge.

A family friend owns the Rocklands Lodge in Victoria. The lodge was used by the US Air Force (to teach the Australian pilots how to land on the water) there is a local guy that stopped in one time and mentioned to the owner that they indeed had panthers and let them go from that very spot! They were advised to put them down, but they were very attached to them so instead let them go when the US went back home. There are so many interesting stories from the locals up there about sightings of black panthers.
Our friend has a picture of a huge paw print at his letter box! Something big will drag dead Roos and takes their head off from the shoulders and sometimes they find sheep high up in the trees. There’s even farmers that say they have spotted Tasmanian tigers in the same region!

It's not a hard sell to believe a shy, nocturnal creature could be living in the bushland of Tasmania without us knowing. But I'm still thinking feral cats for the panther sightings; they get surprisingly big and humans are demonstrably terrible at judging the size of moving things.

It has an eerie atmosphere because the film _Picnic at Hanging Rock_ is so ingrained in the Australian psyche, combined with Aboriginal "Dream Time" stories about the area, have convinced people to it was actually a true story.
When I visted as a kid, they even had plaques in various locations where the girls disappeared (in the movie) like it had actually happened. 😆
My mother is one of those types who think the rocks hold some power, and I distinctly remember her saying after we visited that _"the rocks spoke to her and told her what to do",_ which was apparently become an alcoholic, abuse her children, and abandon her family. 🙄
But they don't have any special powers. They don't speak to people, and they don't make underage school girls on a picnic disappear. They are just rocks. Only rocks. Some big rocks, and some smaller rocks. One even appears to be hanging. But they're still just rocks.

I’ve had a face to face encounter with the Panther at Mt Victoria just above Lithgow. My flat mates and I were rallying an old Commodore up the fire trails in the bush at night. We got the tyre stuck in a ditch on the side of the track. We all jumped out to lift the car up out of the ditch and on the embankment there was a deep guttural growl, we turned to look and there were 2 large red eyes and it continued growling. We screamed and got back in the car, debated for an eternity about who or how we’d get the car out of the ditch. Eventually we went on the count of 3 and rushed out and lifted the car clear, didn’t hear or see the panther again. I know there is nothing else it could have been, there’s just nothing out there that big let alone make a sound like that.

Here's my experience of a possible Yowie (Bigfoot)...
I was house hunting in Qld, Australia one day, I drove to the outskirts of Brisbane, Qld to look at an A Frame house for rent, I parked my car, went inside and it was perfect! The bedroom upstairs overlooked the lounge area, I loved it. I then noticed a wooden double door leading to the backyard, it looked like it had been forcibly broken into many, many times. I thought, a few deadbolts could fix that problem even though I thought it was suspicious.
I then proceeded outside and stood between the house and the shed, I saw a lovely dam up the back of the property just in front of the Greenbanks Army grounds which was all bush. I'm thinking this seems like a great place to live and then, the hairs stood up on the back of my neck like never before as I heard this loud, deep growl/roar like sound, now I grew up watching all the animal shows from around the world, I've heard Tasmanian Devil sounds, Barn Owls that sound like banshees but that deep growl/roar sound scared the crap out of me. I ran to the car and got the hell out of there.
Later that day, I told the story to my partner but didn't believe me, my partner insisted on going and having a look so we had a friend drive us out towards the road where this house was, I kept saying, we shouldn't be going near that place, to be honest, I have no idea why I went along knowing what happened earlier that day.
At the turn off to this road was a servo and as I was begging and pleading for our friend to turn around, the lights went out just as we got to the servo so we pulled in and stopped the car.
I said to my partner, see, this is a sign to not go near that house, there's something evil out there that probably wants to have us as a main course, meanwhile our friend is trying to get the lights going but nothing.
After some discussion, they both agreed to turn around and go home. I said ok GREAT! Now see if the lights will work one more time before we have to get help from another friend.
The lights came on like there was never a problem, that's when they both freaked out and finally believed my story.
Never go near the Greenbanks Army area, that thing does not want to play. What was it? Not sure but it sounded very large

There is an unlit road in Johannesburg, near Sandringham and Silvamont, called Club Street.
The road is in a steep dip just before Modderfontein Road.
It has long been rumored that there is a ghost of a young blonde girl who died of bubonic plague haunting the dip.
There is, or was, an isolated cemetery just off Club Street containing the remains of people who died of infectious diseases, including bubonic plague.
I have been to the cemetery at night myself with the now defunct Lombardy East Scout troop back on the 1980s.
    That was scary.

Possibly haha. I remember on a trip to Hanmer Springs in New Zealand when I was a kid and they were talking about it then.

Well there are possums there and camels and cane toads in oz! Think about it! Captain cook might have taken a breeding pair there and they escaped lol

In regard to the big black cats l actually saw one once....l was living in a very small town called Navarre...went out the back door looked across the paddocks and saw a huge black cat in the distance...people can say whatever they like...but l know what l saw....

My only comment is that I wont ever have to worry about the Crown Casino's morgue since I categorically refuse to set foot in Crown Casino and its environs. The Deeming Theory's a good one, though.

I have to weigh in, I have been a Yowie, never seen one, and it is a long story but short is video footage of me wearing a roo skin with full beard long hair was taken on a crappy phone in 2007, my friend joked i looked like a yowie posted to facebook as a joke, deleted it about a week later because it went mental.
There are no Tigers left, having said that for $5000 + expenses i can get you close enough to get a picture of one. Not that i am that unscrupulous but i did meet a man who sold a lot of tours and he told me how to do it, shhhhh big secret. not.
as for big cats i have lived through small town curfews on kids due to cat attacks on stock, my neighbours dog (blue healer on a chain) was killed by a cat, another long story but he witnessed the killing and 2 weeks later shot it and registered it with the CSIRO who came out and picked up his frozen 17kgm specimen. Far above the average 4/5kgm, it was motley ginger.

I thought the Ripper moved to the US and then moved back to England ten or so years later.

Just had to add as well that hanging rock is a very spiritual place. It has something of an indiginous feel to the place more than any white spirituality. Melbournes Vic Market was built on a cemetery and I myself had seen a young boy who was out of his time watching me as I looked through some old pennys in a stall. 😊👍

I'd prefer to live a life where I always have an extra dribble after I wee before I get my persona read from some kind of tarrot regurgitation.
I'm also trying to be funny and want to get my palm read.
