(It depends how close they really are). It's no different in the corporate world with cutthroat politics in the office (depending what kind of culture your workplace has). I know I have worked in a toxic workplace where I had to be smart and did certain things publicly, to cryptically warn other people. (I no longer work in a toxic workplace anymore.) But I think Andre Ward has his heart right. Having some kind of spirituality will help him keep his head straight and be objective about his own choices. Giving some context to my thought, I haven't seen the Flyod interview and I also don't follow boxing heavily. However, this guy's response is diligent and well mannered enough that Mayweather will respect his decision as a professional. Once again I don't follow boxing, so please don't torch me for my thoughts, but I think Mayweather is most likely right. Flyod is smart, no matter what anyone on this thread or any online thread wants to claim. He knows the exact amount of hardwork and preperation that is necessary to beat a worthy adversary. Flyod also has the experience of dealing with an organization that only cares to bolster their own profits at his own expense (his health & time). Mayweather knows how to defend his record, get paid ridiculous sums of cash, and have the least amount of damage done to him in the ring (which translates to a healthy life and ability to enjoy his large amount of money). Say what you want, but if 'Dre comes through this fight in style, he likely writes the check for this last part of his career. With three belts around his waist, and the Stevenson fight left to unify (at a weight that seems to be about where he'd be just fight fit), a longterm deal (similar to what Floyd ended up getting, I don't see a 3-year, 10-fight, $20m guaranteed deal with a broadcaster being out of the ordinary) is waiting for him.

Giving some context to my thought, I haven't seen the Flyod interview and I also don't follow boxing heavily. However, this guy's response is diligent and well mannered enough that Mayweather will respect his decision as a professional. Once again I don't follow boxing, so please don't torch me for my thoughts, but I think Mayweather is most likely right. Flyod is smart, no matter what anyone on this thread or any online thread wants to claim. He knows the exact amount of hardwork and preperation that is necessary to beat a worthy adversary. Flyod also has the experience of dealing with an organization that only cares to bolster their own profits at his own expense (his health & time). Mayweather knows how to defend his record, get paid ridiculous sums of cash, and have the least amount of damage done to him in the ring (which translates to a healthy life and ability to enjoy his large amount of money). Mayweather always puts himself first, because he knows at the end of the day when he's washed up no one else will care about him. For those of you that are saying Floyd is a certain way on camera, it's because he has figured out how to stay relevant in a continually evolving world. Floyd has recognized the culture that surrounds him, put in the hard work to get to the top of that culture, and now reaps the benefit of his hardwork. There is a reason the guy in the video is even prompted to respond to what Floyd said.

I'm pretty sure Ward's camp knew about those comments before this interview and probably reached out to Mayweather's Camp for clarification. Key statement:" that doesn't mean it's gone work though", in as calm a manner as possible. He was prepped for this. Also, Mayweather has money invested as part of the promotion. People need to seriously stop falling for the bait and switch media gotcha tactics. If you are asked a question, which just so happens to be in a public space, you are expected to answer it. Any amount of silence is seen as throwing shade, no matter whether you open your mouth or not. If someone did an interview with your best friend tomorrow and they briefly talked about you and your decisions, you would be surprised at what comes out of their mouths.
