      Depends on country! I love it in Ukraine, well before war at least and then my native is Sweden so its not many markets at least at christmas!

      still trying everything, haven't sampled enough to list top 3, but definitely glüwein is always on my must have list! thanks for all the great ideas to make sure i check out! ( i already know i don't really like spätzel, though!)
      ferris wheels trigger my worst acrophobia, i can do the highest, fastest roller coasters no prob, but ferris wheels freak me out!

      for sure want the baguette with the sausages, Deana's number 1 and the 'mac & cheese'. I also agree with Daena on the Ferris wheels. My stomach is going crazy just by watching the heights in this video.

    My wife and I just got back from the Christmas markets from Köln to Strasbourg (and others all along the Rhine) Magical!! We loved Köln and the Angels Market (at Neumarkt) everything was amazing from all the food (favs-Bratwurst, candied almonds and any bread & cheese) to Glühwein plus scenery…love your videos-you’re so great together. Prost!

    What a wonderful collection of festive foods! Each one sounds more tempting than the last! I love that every market brings its own unique flavors, but these three definitely need to be on everyone's to-try list.

      I'm curious how close they are to the real thing. I'm closest to the one in Chicago, but that would still be a real travel headache and might not be worth it. Edit, worth it meaning, will there be real german wurst, kuchen, almonds, langos, döner, etc....). I couldn't care less about the knick knacks; I just want the FOOOOD!!!!😂

      There is a Christkindlemarkt every year in Bethlehem, PA. It’s somewhat popular.

    Yes. Yesterday we went from Amsterdam to Düsseldorf. Everywhere we went we came accross the Christmas markets. And we got addicted to the sugared nuts. Are you kiddin' me. Later on we got the Bratwurst. And Glühwein. Was fun.

    Here in Finland wieners and sausages are available in every market. Some markets also have smoked salmon and other smoked fishes as well. Smoked fish is always delicious.

    Thank you for another great vid. I look forward to your Christmas Market ones each year as we don't have any like that here. I went to a "Christmas Market" here and though the booths looked like some of yours, they were mainly selling products and not food. Though other annual festivals do have food booths and food trucks.they

    Before I even clicked on this, my immediate choice for number one was a langos! I first had one at the Christmas market in Heidelberg in the mid-'90s. I'm surprised they haven't made their way to the States yet.

    6:55 Langosch has always been available in Austria at every church festival or other public event. But until 40 - 50 years ago there was only Langosch with salt or garlic.
    The other variations were only thought up later.

    And the fried dough cooked around like a metal rolling pin with sugar or vanilla on outside and Nutella inside - I only found it in Vienna market near palace and the mid evil market in Munich but I believe it’s Hungary food.
    I also liked the idea of the weird chocolate looking sweet bread that looked like a gingerbread man or snowman in strasbourg and the star sweetbread in Nuremberg

    Those "Kartoffelpuffer" discs are also known as "Kröppelchen" in the Rhineland. And the Reibekuchen has normally the size of a big body of bread, and you get a piece of that at a Xmas market.

    I absolutely love reibekuchen, but a kasekrainer sausage with mustard on good german bread is to die for. Christmas markets have the best food. And yes, might have something to do with the amount of gluhwein consumed 😅

    i have to go to Germany after watching y'all eating this, although here in Austria they have most of it except Reibekuchen, that is a typical German thing which is my favorite. Munich is not far from where I live, so this weekend I am driving there. Thanks for your wonderful videos, I enjoy them all.

    It has been years since I have been to German Christmas Market but I remembered a delicious steak sandwich but it seems to be gone. All of these other foods are new to me except for the almonds. ❤ i can't wait to return.

    Öhöhö. Another beautiful christmas video, dude. Yay! Hot dogs, french fries with peanut sauce, wine gum, (veggie) bratwurst, Asian noodle boxes, muzen, pizza rolls, langos, curros. It`s hard to pick like one favorite thing for me. I love all of this. 😋A lot of this stuff is still kind of new though. Möh. When i was growing up the christmas markets were all about curly kale and potatoes, hamburgers, roasted almonds, all kind of bread rolls, potato salat and meat balls. I wish everyone a jolly Nikolaus!

    Nothing too Christmasy in your choices... I just wonder. Spätzle however is a must have when ever I visit Germany. Lecker. In a Christmas market I'd rather look for Gluhwein. Käse, Lebkuchen and perhaps some Eiswein.

    I loved the gummi baren at the market in Augsburg. Served in a paper cone and warm. A pretzel with mustard and a hot drink were my go to things. Not just about food though. The decorations available and good friends to enjoy it all with, couldn't be topped.

    5:20 min Yes, prices at German Christmas markets are escalating this year! At the "Wandsbeker Winterzauber" ("winter-magic in Wandsbek") in Hamburg you pay 6 Euros for a simple farmer's bratwurst (Bauernbratwurst) and 7 Euros for a fairly small portion of fried mushrooms. It makes you think twice about whether you still want to pay for it... 😳

      @@pinkhope84 Ganz gemütlich ist er schon, vom kulinarischen Angebot allerdings etwas begrenzt. Ich wohne in der Nähe und gehe deshalb lieber auf den Winterzauber, weil es da nicht so voll ist wie in der Innenstadt (am Rathaus und auf dem Gerhard-Hauptmann Platz ist es abends so rappelvoll, dass man keinen Meter weit kommt).

    3:50 erklärt mal "Schmalzkuchen". Schmalz ist verflüssigtes Schweinefett. Also eine Süßigkeit die in flüssigem Schweinefett gebacken wurde.
