- These aired on Sacramento Fox Affiliate KTXL on October 27th, 1996. Thanks to my cousin David for recording these.
1. The Simpsons/Jingle All The Way Commercial Bumper
2. TV Spot for "Jingle All The Way" (A modern holiday classic for sure. I first saw it back-to-back with "Space Jam", LOL)
3. Pizza Hut (With Rick Gomez, the guy who played Endless Mike on "The Adventures of Pete & Pete")
4. Sega Saturn (ROFL)
5. Snickers ("I'm Batman")
6. TV Spot for "Romeo + Juliet"
7. Doritos
8. Duracell (Oh great, more of these nightmarish commercials)
9. Subway
10. Children's Tylenol
11. Promo for "Goosebumps: The Haunted Mask II" (Compared to "Are You Afraid Of The Dark" this show was flippin' horrible)
12. TV Spot for "Larger Than Life" (For a while during the mid-90's, Bill Murray basically became a hobo and made movies like this for a while)
13. Wrigley's Doublemint Gum
14. Schick Tracer FX
15. Fighting Vipers
16. Promo for "The X-Files"
its funny how infuriated i become when youtube makes me watch an ad before any other video..but now i'm watching a video that is nothing but ads and i'm actually enjoying it because it feels soothing and nostalgic go figure lol
Ah, love retro commercials. Brings me back to a simpler time.
I *KNEW* I recognized the dude in the Pizza Hut ad! "Endless" Mike Helstrom! :D
B. Griffis I was about to say the same thing.
The dude in the Pizza Hut commercial was also George Luz in Band of Brothers.
I love "Jingle All The Way" def on my top 10 fav christmas movies!
I like how this is from over a decade ago, but it's still fairly new stuff lol.
these really take me back! i was a kid when these aired. i still have my Jingle All the Way VHS tape lol
a website in the Schick commercial in '96! wooh-hoo!
that snickers commercial is funny. "I'm Batman! Let's go to the Bat Cave!" LOL
1:25--I have Season 1 of the 1960's "Batman" TV show on video. Coincidentally I'm right in the middle of watching it while watching this video and writing this comment.
haha that battery commercial reminds me of when my parents would tell me they put batteries in me at night so i'd recharge, haha they were so mean.
I loved those Duracell commercials. So funny with the battery powered family.
You are awesome for posting up all these videos! So much nostalgia!
@j85 yes that would be awesome if pizza hut did that, they should go all out retro and go back to the old style restaurants with the red roofs and the old logos on the signs and roof. the old logo was so simple, yet so appetizing somehow
0:40--Mercifully, the old Pizza Hut logo is back! I never cared much for the modernized version.
I just looked at that Goosebumps episode yesterday. The 90s were great decade also.
Jingle All the Way is one of my fav Christmas movies.
I hate it when people call Rick Gomez a Sam Rockwell impersonator. He is his own man.
that schick commercial is why my lil sister tried to shave and cut her face lol
I agree and it would be great if burger king went back to making their fries like they did in the mid 90's and back to the old design with the red and yellow lines on the bags and cups.
I miss these days...they were soo funn..& look @ the price of Subway sandwiches..I ordered a foot long 2day..& it was like 8 bucks.. lolz
The Sega Commercial ROFL!
It took me 15 years to forget that scary Duracell family and now I have to start all over again
One way you can really tell this is the 90's: the price of the food!
Pizza Hit should go back to the retro boxes from the 80's and 90's.
I remember watching that Goosebumbs special when I was a kid
I still watch Romeo + Juliet. That movie is so boss.
LOL @ that pizza hut commercial at 0:40 reminds me of the time this one pizza delivery guy got someone's adress wrong and came to my house, but instead of telling him he had the wrong adress, I bought the pizza instead because I was hungry HAHA im going to hell lol
"To the Batcave!" = 1:23 in.
Is it me, or are those sega saturn commericals with the blue cgi face scary as heck - heck, even scarier than vid!
Brought to you by "Jingle All The Way"...that was a different, simpler time.
@CarrotsAndPeas Cool! Glad to see your fever went down!
I don't care what anyone says, Jingle all the way is an awesome movie
3.99 for a steak sub at subway? What a fucking deal that was!
This tape sounds like it was already a low quality recording like LP and then on top of that it seems like it was watched a lot. Or maybe the tape was already a second or third gen recording...
Whatever it is... that sound is familiar. heh.
these commercials are so kul.
it was based on the power ranger craze and when it was hard to find one in stores years ago.
Man that Sega Saturn commercial was so stupid taking cheap shots at Nintendo like that.
Yea, but look what happened, Sega Saturn became the blockbuster video game system EVERYONE had to have *sarcasm implied*
@j85 Yeah, they should have a throwback theme. That seems to be pretty popular these days. GO 90's!
Duracell should bring back that "DUR-A-CELL" jingle.....I miss it.
At 2:27 the people who did that Duracell Commercial did the suits for Primus' music video of Wynona's Big Brown Beaver. It's the same head!!!
Oh no, two terrifying uncanny valley commercials in a row! (The Doritos Reduced Fat Chips and the Nightmare Duracell Family)
I love jingle all theway lol
owning both I can safetly say the satrurn asucked.compered to N64. best game on it though was Dragon knight.
but as always bravo..more 90's commercials please
on jingle all the way who the hell would go through all of that for a damn toy? lol
Check out the Sam Rockwell impersonator in the Pizza Hut commercial at 1:01
They do look remarkably similar but if you ever watched "The Adventures of Pete and Pete" as a kid you'd recognize Endless Mike Hellstrom anywhere.
HOLY CRAP A SEGA SATURN !
"Later PRETENDO!"
{Throws it in air and shoots it with shotgun}
mannn i use to love goosebumps.. the BOOK(s)
ohh the memories..
oh yeah. cant believe i actually have one! lol
i had just turned 17 when these came on... doesn't seem like it was that long ago.
Fox ran 4 episodes of The Simpsons that night, leading to the premiere of TOH VII.
The '96 holidays were not a good time for kids movies. Jingle, 101 Dalmatians, Larger than Life, Space Jam--all pretty forgettable.
My college roommate had an N64 and a PS. No Sega in sight.
I always wondered how they did those Duracell commercials. Didn't make them any less unwatchable.
People, it's just gum! No one won the lottery or anything.
The Series was over, so The X-Files did air.
Wow, pre-Jared Subway!
0:58 that was the bully on pete and pete
Definitely miss the old Pizza Hut. They have lost their damn minds with all that freaking garlic packed on the crust now. And isn't the pizza boy the same dude from "Pete & Pete?" Goosebumps was my show! (Dun! Dun! Dun! Dun! Dun!)
IM BATMAN!
TO THE BATCAVE!!
Wow 3.99 for a subway sammich.
I don't remember those Duracel commercials being so willy inducing.
why don't batteries have power check anymore?
Sega sure did like to talk didn't they?
I forgot about reduced fat Doritos!
oh man fighting vipers was the best sega fighting game (unless you count SoR2 but thats technically a different genre) i want to play that game so badly but i still cant run it well in MAME :(
Hey, wasn't there a TV show based off those weird Duracell characters?
Jingle all the way.Oh god such a crappy movie yet i remeber it so well.
Jingle all the way!! classic..lol
Goosebumps was a crappy show, but it did have some future stars. Ryan Gosling, and Hayden "Anakin Whinewalker" Christensen.
ENDLESS MIIIIKE!!!!
A lot like Sam Rockwell!
@gundamfanandhobbiest These days suck ass. I guess we should be grateful that there is still $1 dollar burgers and chicken sandwiches. Who the hell am I kidding? I wish somethings would revert back to the way it was in the 90's.
1:24 That face is horrifying!
to the batcave!!
lol 4:44
@Minabby08 I kno right?? 9 bucks!!
Rick Gomez did a TON of ads in the 90s, for BK shoes, Super Nintendo games, and tons more.
I thought the Saturn was dead by the end of '96. And it's kinda unfair to be knocking on a 2-month old N64 at the time, they should have targeted the far better Playstation fanbase. Tons of boneheaded decisions by Sega's American division, not to mention mediocre third-party publisher support dragged the Saturn into obscurity. Sadly, the Dreamcast would also share the same fate. :(
They did target PlayStation, and they still lost lol
@Rachman1337 Saturn owns.
RiP Sega (game consoles).
No, I just hate when people repeat what just happen in the video.
Yeah that just happend, thanks for repeating it for no real reason.
I miss these days...they were soo funn..& look @ the price of Subway sandwiches..I ordered a foot long 2day..& it was like 8 bucks.. lolz
