I showed this to one of my co-workers today. Recent high school graduate, had never even heard of the Taco Bell chihuahua. He thought it was hilarious. Taco Bell should bring these back

The fact that this ad campaign was stopped because people got offended and wrote in to the company proves that people have been getting offended by everything LONG before social media made it seem as if it is something new.
I thought it was also because many people were getting Chihuahua's and not realizing the disposition of the breed and sending them to shelters. Plus there was a lawsuit surrounding using the dog/the concept itself I vaguely remember.

I remember our band teacher randomly brought this up during class. We basically cruising for the rest of the semester because we had our winter concert and he started pulling up memes that made him laugh and it somehow got around to this one.

I can hardly see how this is racist. Its Mexican food, a dog (from around the world) commonly associated with Mexico, and it spoke about 5 words in Spanish. Big Whoop!
