Now that you've finished season 1, you should definitely check out the 5 part episode they made called "bridging the rift" and the 60 second season 2 teaser. Both are incredible and I'd love to see your reaction and guesses/theories for season 2 based on the teaser

@@soscobra bridging the rift is kinda their behind the scenes stuff, more outlook and world building, but the season 2 teaser is literally just audio with the league style number 2 on screen, but there's a lot to take in just from the audio
Also the ENEMY music video, which includes new animation from Fortiche.
@@ariochiv I wish they included that Enemy footage in the show. It just adds so much to the characters. I understand so much better after watching Enemy why Jinx can't possibly accept Cait.
During the dinner scene, Jinx is testing Vi on several occasions and Vi is failing every time.
- Vi created Jinx : I think Jonx wanted Vi to apologize for all the things she did to her (not just leaving and not coming back) but also recognize that her sister is strong and useful now.
- the cupcake : you can see the pain in Jinx's face when Vi thinks she killed Cait. The cupcake was a peace offering : take your gf and the stone back. But Vi failed.
- make Cait go away : Jinx wants Vi to get rid of the monster she fears, Cait. She can't do it but finds another solution that almost works : leaving and never coming back. But she misses the point when she said Jinx won't see Silco again. Jinx is not afraid of Silco and will probably miss him.
- Vi triggers Jinx's PTSD : Vi has good memories of her family (Vander appears engulfed by light, like an angel, when she need support) but Jinx sees them as monsters that torture her.
In the end, both Silco and Sevica were right. Vi's return will only bring pain and suffering to Jinx because she came back for Powder and has another person in her heart and mind.
I was initially confused by the "But you've changed too" line, but I think it was Jinx voicing your conclusion here. Vi loved and supported Powder, and she's not doing that for her present-day sister. Vi failed to love and support Jinx by continuing to hold onto the past and insisting on trying to fix or save her.
_How can anything feel so shocking and yet so inevitable?_
When this episode ended I just sat in silent reflection for a good 10 minutes, then wept, and then rewatched the final scene and repeated. What an incredible tragedy.

You noticed what’s hanging in Singed’s lab… The theory is that it’s actually Vander, but rather a mutated version of him as a result of Singed’s experiments. In the game, there is a character, Warwick that is a werewolf who looks similar. As Vander is known as the “Hound of the Underground,” people are thinking this is his disturbing fate.
Also Warwick has lost his memory but the last thing he remembers is a girl crying
They already played the warwick song in the season 2 teaser, this theory is practically confirmed.
Yep, there more references too towards that fate as well. His scream during episode 3 is very very similar to how Warwick's howls sound, the fact his wrist is slit is the same as Warwick having a mechanical wrist, his body shape when juiced up is similar to Warwicks... the list goes on.
I think it's similar to the Ekko teasers, those who know will be able to piece it together and theorise and those who don't aren't really missing out on anything.

I just woke up and thought "today will be a good day" and then I checked my feed and you posted this and now I guess we're all going to cry today thanks
It's a good day to cry.
Every time I watch a reaction to this show, I'm reminded just how unbelievable an accomplishment it was. Knocked it out of the park on every single level. I'm still stunned they pulled it off.
Every time you re-watch this show there are things to notice, like that cupcake. One of the best things about this show is that it's sort of different every time you watch. You understand each character a little bit better each time. Pick a character and really try to understand them from start to finish, then do it again with a different character. Now that the creators can see how much their hard work has paid off, I think that Season2 is going to be even better. It's a good sign that they haven't given themselves a deadline by announcing a release date for season2. They are not rushing the process for the sake of money or other demands. When it's ready then they will release it. I simultaneously can't wait and I am happy to wait so that it will be perfect.
It's so true. Sevika went from being an incidental character to one of my favorites upon subsequent rewatches. When even the antagonist's "lackey" has depth, you know you're watching something special.
Did you see that the jinx's eyes turned pink? Those of us who played the game knew that her eyes are that color. The series gives a sample of this in episode 3 when the eyes of the "powder" glow pink with the fire there is an indication that she has already become Jinx.
This show deserves to be remembered for eternity. Watched it 5 times and it still hasn’t gotten godamn old yet

An interesting thing is the amount of easter eggs. The bar fight when Vi throws the table at Sevica is an Easter EGG from Vi's breakout song "Here comes Vi"

another paralel, silco said to vander "the boy didn't even haggle" about jayce. The same first impression ekko had of him when he visited benzo's shop in ep 1.

"I'm never going to love a show as much as this." I'm right there with you, Alycia. I've been saying the same thing for the last year and a half.
It's probably a big part because of the lack of quality show or movies, but same here, since I watched Arcane, I became more demanding and critic about what I watch. And except for the manga Boruri, and One Punch Man, I barely saw any recent thing who can move me at least a little.
Dunno. Andor was a much more subtle kind of show, but the level of writing and presentation were just as good.
Out of all the season finales of shows, this one takes the cake for sure or comes close to it, at least for me! It's been wonderful, beautiful and so exciting getting to see you react to this show, and hear you talk about these characters, stories, plot-lines and more. Again what a banger finale, hopefully we'll see where most if not all of these characters end up in season 2. Thank you for reacting to this show, it's something special in many ways and while it may not be for everyone it takes what it can do and runs far and wide with it!

This is such an heartbreaking episode. Silco did what Vi was unable to - he accepted Jinx for who she was, she loved her and understood her. Vi couldn’t. She wanted Powder back, and didn’t realize that she was hurting her sister by not accepting her change. It’s just so sad how they grow apart.
Can’t wait for Amphibia now. Good luck recovering Cupcake.

Wait i just realized something. In the show vi says powders good with her gadgets which are technology. And vi gift is fighting which is her physical strength. Vi is pink and jinx is blue. When vi gets hextech golves which are technology jinx gets shemer which inhances you're physical skills. Hextech is blue shemer is pink. A little bit of powder exist in vi and little bit of vi exists in power. Like yin and yang. Also vi wearing the hextech can remind vi how powder used to be and shemer can mean powder finally became strong like her hero.
One can tell a new fan's genuine obsession with Arcane when they recommend Schnee's videos afterwards. I think we all flocked to his content after Season 1 finished because we were just so, so hungry for more Arcane content. Agreed that his analyses are very well organized and portrayed in his videos. Speaking of, really enjoyed watching your reactions to this cherished and award-winning series. See you in Season 2!
Love what you had to say at the end; about every character, you knew the story and understood what they were going through, awesome! And yes! Jinx had some of the best lines!
Incredible series. Can't wait for season 2! Yup, Jinx jinxed it up! I have a lot of ideas about how season 2 could play out with the council being dead, but Jayce, Mel, and Viktor having survived due to Hexcore shenannigans . Mama Medarda uses the leadership vacuum to take over Piltover and fight back the uprising. Mel and Jayce escape to the Undercity with Viktor being captured by Noxus to keep working on the Hextech. A resistance forms between Mel, Jayce, Heimmerdinger, Echo, Sevika, Vi and Caitlyn and the Doctor to fight back. Jinx is off doign her own thing, but at the end of the season sacrifices her own life to save Caitlyn as Noxus's enemies show up. Season 3 can expand away from Piltover to the larger world.
The thing in Singed's lab is very VERY likely to be my favorite league of legends character and I will be patiently yet eagerly waiting for season 2
Interesting thought: Jinx told Vi "You never left. You were always there, in the back of my head, pushing me onwards." We already know that Jinx has auditory hallucinations, particularly from Milo, so what if she had similar hallucinations for Vi? In episode 6, when Jinx asked Vi "Are you real?", maybe she was so used to Vi's voice being a hallucination that she had trouble telling if Vi was actually there. Also, we can infer that Milo's voice tended to act as Jinx's fear and self-doubt, so maybe Vi's voice was Jinx's confidence and determination?
I think that interpretation is spot on.

Arcane, Andor, Battlestar (reimagined) and Expanse are the masterpieces of media.
Another BSG reimagined fan! You are correct. Those are some top tier TV shows. I haven't seen Andor yet, though. If you're putting it up there with the other two, I might just have to.
I would also add Attack on Titan to that list as well.
The End of Act 3 of Season 1, the Final Act, the Season 1 Finale, nothing will ever be the same again.
You REALLY should see the vid 'The Psychology of Arcane: Silco & Jinx' by Georgia Dow (If you get to it, we'd love a reaction). There you get to actually see how important and real Silco as a father was to Jinx, and how at the end of the day he was actually just trying to protect her. One of the comments in there says "Vander became a monster to save Vi while Silco became human to save Jinx."
And another stealed comment:
"I just love how Silco's final thoughts were not of how his daughter killed him but of how her killing him would have made her feel. He puts his last breath, his last ounce of strength into making sure that she is okay with what she has done, that she's okay with killing him, he tells her not to cry, that she is perfect while making sure that she knows that he wouldn't have betrayed her cause he needs her to know that his love for her was genuine.
In spite of her literally snuffing out his own life, his mind's last thought was only her emotional well-being."
In case you want to see more animation like Arcane, the animation studio that made the show, Fortiche, also worked with Riot Games on a few music videos.
There is POPSTARS by K/DA which is a Kpop group made up of characters from the game, in an alternate universe skin line.
There is RISE by the same composer who did all the music for Arcane. That video is more about the Esports part of League of Legends, but it's an absolute banger.
And finally, the first video that Fortiche made with Riot, which is the Get Jinxed music video, which came out over 10 years ago as promotion for Jinx's introduction to the game. It actually plays for a bit in Episode 4.
Fun fact, Riot Games is the one who actually funded the show, and helped Fortiche grow to become a full animation studio. It's also been mentioned that season 2 was written at the same time as season 1, so hopefully that will help with story structure.

That was pretty much everyone's reaction when the credits started to roll! :)
"You never left? I always heard you. Shadows, in the streets. Prickles, on the back of my neck. Your voice, pushing me, picking me up...when all the colors were black. You're the reason I'm still alive."
"I thought, maybe you could love me like you used to. Even though I'm, different. But, you've changed, too. So, here's to the new 'us'."
There are a lot of lines in the show that people love. But, those are mine. The crushing loneliness, the desperation, the emptiness. Powder was born into loss (which is anything but uncommon in Zaun), and it made her desperate to hold on to any and everything she could. And when she believed Vi had abandoned her, after herself being the cause of her whole adoptive family's deaths, completely destroyed her. Powder died that day, and Jinx was born.
It's not as simple as childhood trauma, either. Because of everything else that had happened early in her life, and possibly because of a neurological predisposition, the night everyone died ended up causing her to suffer a total psychotic break. Her mind completely shattered under the weight of it all, and we seen glimpses of it throughout in the hallucinations she experiences. And that's the thing...she doesn't KNOW they're just hallucinations. She can't tell the difference.
Jinx, is truly insane. She has no capacity to differentiate reality from fantasy. She's intelligent, and knowledgeable, but she has no ability to distinguish the things she externally experiences, from what her own mind fabricates internally. The only reasons she's gotten as far as she has, is because she's intelligent and knowledgeable, and because her hallucinations aren't as extreme as they could be, nor are they constant.

I think your first take about how this series has raised the bar on many levels is exactly what Riot/Fortiche was hoping for. Now do Bridging the Rift, a docuseries on the making of Arcane. You will cry again.
A friend actually pointed out to me that when Jinx kidnapped Caitlyn, she had just gotten out of the shower and in the next episode Caitlyn had her clothes on...

I have watched a lot of S-tier, god level TV. I've never been able to put anything in my number 1 slot. Until this.
Something that was at the back of my mind for some time. Victor did not inform anyone what happened to Sky. I would assume she had some family. But in the chaos after Jinx attack, I suspect that she will be considered to be victim of that explosion. Body never found.

Schnee offers some interesting analysis (though I do wish he didn't edit so tightly that it sounds like he never takes a breath), but my favorites coming off of my watching of Arcane were TB Skyen, Flying Walrus, and Not So Average Fangirl. (Admittedly the last is much more reaction, to be fair, but they have a keen insight into tropes and character analysis that seems downright prescient at times!)

The painting depicts Noxus, the city of Mel and her mother.
So crazy to think that Vi is responsible for everything that happened! I mean if she hasn't come back Silco and Jinx would have gotten their nation of Zawn, because it was Vi who pushed Jace to raid that factory which resulted in him accidentally killing an innocent child which caused the war!
The show tries really hard to depict Vi as a hero and caring person but in fact she is self serving, selfish and incapable to deal with loss and change...
Silco was by no means good, but unlike Vi he actually did have a positive influence on Jinx, because instead of trying to force to be somebody she already was no, he encouraged her to grow up and choose her path. He gave her the one thing Vi was never able to and I am even willing to argue "never willing to give" true love no matter the consequences. He never pushed her aside, only when she genuenly needed to take a moment and breath and guided her to become her own person.
On the opposite side, Vi wanted her little sister back without realizing that no matter what would have happened, that child is gone. she grew up and Vi is incapable of dealing with that.
RIP Silco, you might have been the creation of the show, but you've become the goat character of this universe for me!

The thing that ruins me every time is the transition from seeing Caitlyn scream, to her mother vote in the Council chamber and you realize what she's seeing - her mother is about to be murdered right in front of her.

What you said at the beginning of your review section is basically exactly how I feel about this show: *every* aspect of it is so ridiculously well done that there's really not much to criticize or complain about. I love this show, and I could see that same love for every bit of it during your reactions from the season premiere all the way to the season finale! Now you're left eagerly awaiting season 2 like the rest of us ^.^
I'm sure you've got plenty of recommendations from your community for things to watch (not even necessarily as reactions) as well as some ideas of your own, but if you feel like you need a bit of a palate cleanser after all that heartbreak I'd suggest picking up Spy x Family. It's got some sad moments but overall it's an incredibly funny and wholesome anime with great animation and at least one character precious enough that you'd probably be willing to die for them ☺ Take care~

I'm quite sure Kate's mom is going to die, with many other council members, but I don't think they're all going to die because Himerdingers fear of the walking apocalypse is in that room and will likely take a majority of the hit. The surviving members will consider it an act of war. I noticed that the animation was similar when saviek lost her arm and Victor's assistant disintegrated to jinx firing that missile. The thing is neither of those two had shimmer in their system when getting affected by the arcane energy, Victor and jinx on the other hand... Who's to say there aren't two walking apocalypses right now hiding in the mess that will be the beginning of season 2.
Now you must to watch Bridging the rift! And you will see why this series is so perfect!

And it was indeed a really good jinx voice. And in the case of jinx voice actress, there is one sentence i find exceptional well acted. When she sits in the jinx labeled chair and says "here to the new us". There is so much delivered in how she delivers it it blows my mind.

You've probably already been told these things on Patreon, but I'll mention them anyway:
Jayce and Viktor are both champions in the game, so given what we know about them from there, it's unlikely that they were killed in the explosion.
The creature on the doctor's wall in the end sequence is a werewolf-like character named Warwick. I suggest you avoid any mention of him if you can... major spoilers abound.
The dinner party was kind of adapted from a batman comic run "Death of the family".

If you would like to know more or at least have a better understanding of the Lore and World of Arcane and by extension League of Legends? Then i recommend watching either the Tales of Runeterra Mini-Series (which gives some insight of sorts for each of the Major Regions of the World of LoL/Arcane) and/or some of Necrit’s (who is basically the Lore & News Guy for League of Legends and it’s related content) content about the subject.
Or if you would just simply like to know of or at least get some ideas for what to potentially expect from Season 2? Then there’s some Prediction Videos that i can recommend too, if you are indeed interested that is.

Don't worry - they've assured us season 2 won't take 6 years to make, like the first season did. So we probably won't need to wait more than 4 or 5 years at the most!

Arcane is absolutely amazing from storytelling and action and animation. It truly is a masterpiece.
If you don’t mind me making a suggestion for a future series, I highly recommend The Legend of Vox Machina, if you haven’t seen it. It has great storytelling and incredible animation because you have voice acting royalty who are behind it so they now how important quality animation is.

PS Arcane is a series from League of Legends that deals and will only deal with Shurimans Port City [Kha'Zhun / Osha Va'Zaun] ==> Piltover and Zaun. But they are definitely working on other series from other regions, but they will have a different theme and a different series name.
Spoilers about the story that I know about through contacts are quite interesting because they will prepare our characters for their journey so that we can finally see them in the positions of the stories in which they are now.
The only thing I will say is that it is more than clear that we will be introduced to other characters and their stories and flashbacks. Plus, we should also get something smaller, more of what was actually between Mr. V. & Mr. S.,...
And also League of legends Skin lines are alternate and parallel universes. With stories this good, sometimes it's a much better champion story than in LOL. ;)

LOR is the world building of Runeterra and similar to the voice line champions cinematics and Some are part Canon.

First off, please don't apologize for your reaction - I feel safe speaking for the folks here that we're here to see your emotional reactions, that that's why we watch you. There's nothing at all wrong with what you're doing. As you said, there are lots of analytical takes on this show out there, many very good (and, yes, schnee is terrific!) Don't change what you do to emulate anyone. To deliberately misquote, "Do cry... you're perfect."
Quick lore note: the painting Mel was working on was one of the most famous landmarks in Noxus (her previous home). And, yes, Mel has chosen gold as a personal color - it's worth noting the almost total lack of it in anything else from her family.
As for the council vote, well, Milo said it: "She jinxes everything!"
If you are looking for something else to react to, another very good animated show is Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. Unusually for me, I will also suggest the dub version - the voice acting is arguably somewhat slicker and more professional in the original Japanese, but the English uses a lot of the slang and flavor not present in the Japanese version. Unlike Arcane, it is helpful, although not necessary, to know a bit more about the genre going in to that one. If you've played the recent video game, or encountered the old TTRPG, you probably won't be thrown too far off.

I believe crows are from fiddlesticks.
@@nemesiszumbizada the crows are a reference to swain, but they arent the crows from Raum or Fiddlestics, there are just normal crows.
The thing is, if you look closer you will see there are a lot of references to him even from the trailers.
In addition, the dates are right for swain, s1 (part 2 and 3) are in the 5 years when swain was exiled from noxus after his defeat on ionia, so is the time lapse when he got his powers and took over Noxus.
Mel’s mother even talks about “a man whoose influence in the shadows of noxus is becoming too strong, even for her clan”
If we see any reference about urgot in zaun, its the confirmation, since he was the first step of his plan (until the last, that was claiming the demon of secrets for him and controll noxus in the same night).
Essentially no one knows exactly how swain managed to controll that demon (specially when leblanc and mordekaiser couldnt), and it would be amazing to know it, because somehow is obvious Raum is starting to become problematic, and swain still needs him to beat mordekaiser (what is the next big event).
P.D.: if swain appears before get his powers, we would probably see draven too (since he was his first and most loyal follower) :3
