"It all makes sense now, brother... Is there anything as undoing... as a daughter"
This is the best line in the whole show.
Silco called Vander a coward for not be willing to sacrifice Vi for the cause.
Now hes in the exact same situation and he cant do it.
    Brilliant.

This is a pervasive theme even outside of Vander/Vi and Silco/Jinx (although those are the most obvious and effective example). The daughter is also the unravelling of other parents: Ambessa admitting that she pushed Mel away because it made her ashamed of the decisions she had to make to keep the family strong and Marcus's downfall was that he had to play the part Silco wanted him to, leading to his death and in spite of his own opinions on these actions, because his daughter was a captive. "Is there anything so undoing... as a daughter?" Truer words never spoken.

The thing is...Silco generally doesn't lie to anyone. He doesn't always tell the whole truth, but he never deliberately speaks something untrue. There's an incredible sincerity to the character, where you feel like he's always closed off, but in reality he's always upfront with everyone.
    .
He's ruthlessly violent, and generally doesn't give a shit about anyone who's not on his side in some way, but you really do know what you're getting with Silco, if you don't just make assumptions.
    .
That's why he's such a great character. He does these evil things, but when he tells Jinx how much she means to him...you KNOW, fundamentally...he means it, with every fiber of his being. "I would never have given you to them. Not for anything. Don't cry, you're perfect." A degree of truth we get from few real people in our lives, let alone characters in a story.

with Silco I have the feeling that you see how he became what he is due to the harsh circumstances in the Undercity and his personal lfe story. So due to that background he himself rules with an iron fist and making wrong decisions to reach his goal. At the same time he does feel responsible for the Undercity/Zhaun just like Vander did. He just has a very different approach and accepts that he has to sacrifice people to reach the goal. Even his relationship with Jinx. He makes mistakes and the relationship brings trouble for both of them. At the same time it also helps them both.

Since a lot of people seem to love this Father-Daughter tragedy, here is a little detail to make this experience better: Jinx's rocket launcher is a shark with a black, scar-like detail on its left eye. It's called fishbone Silco has a black scar on his left eye. Silco loved sea monsters and Jinx wanted to make something Silco really liked, so Jinx made a sea monster inspired weapon based on Silco (like the coffee mug she had made for him). Jinx used the "Fishbone the black eyed Sea monster" weapon to kill the council because she thought that is what Silco would have wanted. In the game she banters with "Fishbone" like it were parent-child conversation. "We will show them. We will show them all" You are welcome.

Then when she would have brought it up to Silco, she would likely be the one to get blamed for things not going smoothly, since Silco was already shown to play favorites.

@@wl4810 I don't think she hates her, rather than she hates how weak she make Silco. She is shown to show compassion towards Jinx, when she is advising Silco to give her time, but her true problem with Jix is clearly exposed in EP5 or 6 ( don't recall the exact one ), where she states that "[she is] as helpful for the cause as [she] was for her family".
Jinx is a problem for the major cause for which Silco and Sevika fought all their life : Freedom and equality against Piltover. And while Silco tolerate Jinx antics to get attention from her surogate father, Sevika sees her as a liability for the cause.
But overall, I don't think she hates her. She hates how Silco weakens himself for her, and how problematic she is, not Jinx herself.

Viktor with his illness, mortality and the hexcore. Ekko working with Heimerdinger most likely on the Z-Drive and Heimer's place in the academy/council event. I mean that is what is so great. Jayce and Viktor have good intentions with their creations but are naive about what they are making and how dangerous their inventions are, Heimerdinger is too focused on steady progress to notice the neglected, Vi can be too headstrong, Powder/Jinx craves affirmation and true to her name Jinx's things when trying to please or help others, Ekko provides the crew with a tip for a job in topside which is 'off-limits', Silco wants to see a separate and respected Zaun but would do 'anything' to achieve it, Vander and the cop Grayson have settled for a peace that clearly isn't suiting the undercity well. Things are messy and the world they live in is an unforgiving one, which makes it very tragic but engaging to watch.

Funny thing is in both ep 3 and in the final even if Jinx/powder did nothing things still would’ve gone to shit, because in ep 3 monster decker would have easily chased them down and killed them and in ep 9 the deal Jayce made would’ve never went through. Also Silco tried to shoot Vi because he could tell that vi bringing up the past was hurting her mentally.

  • @T-Law.
    @T-Law. 2 года назад +12

I’ve seen a lot of reactors assume that jinx shot Silco because she thought he’d hurt her sister. While that’s a possibility, I think what happened was Jinx just lost her shit. She had no idea where or who she was shooting. It just so happened to be Silco. Like back in episode 4 when she didn’t realise who she was firing at.
Silco may have done what he did because he knew that Vi was causing jinx mental agony. “Remember Mylo, remember clogger” when all jinx does is think about those demons in her head. She’s scared of them like she’s scared of her own sister Vi. Just like how Silco was scared of his brother Vender (who mutilated and nearly drowned him). In a way, Silco sees himself in Jinx, because their experience and trauma is very similar. Silco picked up the gun out of instinct, he just didn’t want to see his daughter hurt.

    • @Lavi397
      @Lavi397 2 года назад +2

one of the writers on twitter confirmed that Jinx shot Silco on purpose, specifically because he fired on Vi. while yeah, what Vi was doing wasn't helping, she wasn't trying to hurt Jinx and Silco wasn't trying to stop her from "hurting" her either. Silco has wanted Vi dead this whole show, it makes total sense he'd try to put a bullet in her at the first opportunity - he was flipping his shit at her getting away at the end of episode 6, willing to push Marcus to his limit to be rid of her, etc. honestly, it's thematically fitting too, because Jinx killed Vander and her brothers for the same reason - she wanted to protect Vi. so, like the next scene on unfortunate timing reinforces what we saw in ep. 3, Jinx choosing to shoot Silco reinforces this sibling instinct of hers

There are so many ways this can go in the council.
    1) Everybody dies - bold and shocking killing champions
    2) Jayce uses his hammer shield to protect a few
    3) Jinx bombs have been notorious for not working
    4) Jinx discussed opening a portal to the heebie jeebies. Opening a portal to the void with the bomb would be my absolute favorite, throwing Piltover into chaos.
    5) ?
Will Mel die allowing her mother's fury to manifest, or will she live and finally come back around to her mother's saying about killing one to save the many, but killing her mother with the same reasoning to stop her war.

welcome to the post series depression XD! In fact for LOL players this ending was perfect. The only thing you need to know and is for certain: there will be war, regardless if or who dies.
We all hoped to see in this season the "Jinx-the beginning" as we know it in the game and they certainly nailed it - this is the plot that at least seemingly was accomplished (her story is certainly not finished at all--> pointings to Warwicks storyline certainly being a big issue in S2, also she still misses some final tattoos) at the end of this season and honestly this was THE expectation I had on this series - to see how she became what we know in the game with her unnatural purple eyes and behaviour- and they delivered. All other plot strings are far too big and need to be still open in order to lead us into the next season(s). A good show always leaves you craving for more.
One remark on your comment about Jinx destroying the possibility of peace : First of all, it was already gone when she killed Silco ("you can not make a deal with a snake that cut of his head") and also he genuinely said that he would have never given her up for his Nation of Zaun. As this was a mandatory condition Jayce gave him, peace wouldn't be decided even though the council voted for it.
But I am surprised that most people don't talk about Vi being the source of this condition. When she and Caitlyn were at the council Jayce asked who buit the granade. Caitlyn didn't want to say it but Vi stepped in and gave away the name of Jinx (she was certainly unaware of the consequences and in her head Jinx is not her sister but Powder - a feat she can not accept yet-very obvious at the "teaparty"). Because of that information Jayce set the condition of handing Jinx out. If they didn't get the name maybe they would have been able to make peace because Silco would not have been forced to choose between his daughter and the Nation of Zaun.

I wouldnt say Swain is out of context in this show, there is a fairly decent chance he is the man in conflict with Mel's family.
Also, has anyone ever actually said if these are crows or ravens in the show? Cuz I don't remember anyone doing so.
Aside from their size it's not that much difference between them look wise.
Im not saying this is the case, I actually consider it a longshot myself (which is why I said "IF they are of significance") but in league lore there are way more significant and stronger ties to both ravens and crows than our worlds superstitions.
If these birds are significant and not just symbolism, going by league universe standards, Swain would be the most probable alternative considering the story told.

Both Vi and Jinx's backstories didn't actually change all that much. Yes, the finer details are slightly different than the broad overview of their stories as presented in in-game lore, but there weren't really any fine details to begin with. Riot did an amazing job in giving their champions individual identities and unique personalities *without* the need for books worth of setup and backstory. This gives all their future work a lot of wiggle room in establishing how the characters ended up as their final champion forms.

I'm not sure if the crows are meant to foreshadow Swain. For one Swain's thing is ravens, not crows. I think the crows are meant in a more poetic way: Crows are a sign of bad luck. Jinx's whole theme is literally jinxing everything, essentially being bad luck to everyone around her. That's also why in the Ekko Jinx fight, where Ekko had a firelight behind him, Jinx had a crow behind her. But I wouldn't put is past Riot to have intended both of these interpretations.

As far as Savika I think she is going to have to go after Jinx. You know she already hates her because she cost her her arm. Now she's killed Silco. I don't know the full measure of her feelings towards Silco but I can't imagine this wouldn't put her in more or less of a murdering mood. It's tragic because peace way so close at hand, and because of jinx commitment to being jinx.

    A) reliant on her going to jail.
    B) needs silco still alive.
( It's why silco says sows them all )
So at that point her action arn't actually hurting her agenda like they do in ep 3.

  • @h3ll0gudbye
    @h3ll0gudbye 2 года назад

My first thought was Darius but when I thought about it properly, I think Swain makes the most sense (unless it's someone new and not from the game). It's implied that Mel's brother was more of a talker than a fighter, so he was probably more involved in the political scene. I could also see Swain playing a long game more than Darius who'd probably just cut down his enemies on the spot.
Either way, I'm excited to see my favourite region next season!
Also, I don't think Jinx 'jinxed' anything this time around. The peace was conditional upon Silco turning her over to Piltover, which he never would have done. So, the way I see it, she was just igniting the war that Silco would have started eventually.

  • @th3voice

"If Jinx hadn't done the thing, peace would have broken out!" Yes. Peace between the drastically oppressed people living in a hazardous waste dump and the unfathomably corrupt, venal council of a self-proclaimed unstoppable superpower. That would certainly have led to super good things and everyone being fine and all injustice disappearing over a period of no more than two or three months. Jinx and Vi would reunite and have fun tea parties with Caitlyn and they'd all raise Marcus' daughter and they'd call it "Jinxed House" and reanimate Bob Saget to play Danny Tanner again for season 2. Or something.
The council voting for peace means nothing. If they wanted peace they could have had it. If Heimerdinger wanted to, Zaun could have been every bit the utopia Piltover purports to be. There WAS a moment there could have been peace. Marcus ruined it when he shot Ekko. If Ekko and Jayce had met, Ekko, who knows who Jinx is and has been in conflict with Silco's organisation for years could have told Jayce not to demand Jinx as a sacrifice for the peace, and it COULD have happened. That was the moment it all hinged upon. Everything past that was an inevitable cascade.

About crows I do not think these crows are Swain`s beacues his crows have red eyes. I think these crows are Fiddlesticks` crows. We know that Fiddlesticks is a demon so from the story of Yone we know that demons are consuming emotions depending on the demon type. So Fiddlesticks is a demon who consumes fear and he has been seen everywhere in the Runeterra universe.
Besides that in the game Fiddlesticks has interaction with Jinx about some accident (probably episode 3 accident) and blames her that everything was her fault.

To me it was a happy ending. Jinx was a karma delivery machine. Silco and Marcus were gone. And Jinx fired at the council that wanted her as political scapegoat. And Jinx saved her only family left.
If Silco was a backstabber, there would be peace as Jinx would have been delivered to Still Water. Else, no peace. So nothing changed with Jinx rocket. Jinx ruined no peace. But I suspect Silco was a backstabber who did not have enough time. Silco almost killed Vi. Imagine how Jinx would have felt if Vi died. A good man would not have attempted to kill Vi. Only psychopath narcissists try to isolate their victims from family and friends.
    Vi failed Jinx 3 times:
    * When Vi failed to protect Powder in the backpack scene.
    * When Vi failed to evacuate Powder from the danger zone where Silco found Powder
    * When Vi failed to settle matters with Jinx at the bridge instead of delivering the gem.
Caitlyn will be a terrible sheriff. Terribly bad at de-escalating situations.
Caitlyn should have said "put the gun down. I will not get in your way so you settle matters with your sister. Just put the gun down and let everyone walk away.". But no. And that cost her a shot at the council that made the gem, and the gem was returned back to them..
