"Courage comes from connection to what we love". Thank you Charles I have my mantra for this evening and a pearl for my future.

I was an environmentalist before the present era of environmental activism powered by political agendas. Why am I an environmentalist? Because of my love for the beauty of the world, the awesome harmony and wisdom of Nature, my care for everything to thrive from the healthy soil to animals and humans. I am also pained by consumerism, city life and compulsory anti-spirituality ( including Christianity!) We need your voice Charles because nobody seems to be speaking for us!

This concept is crucial to actually tackling environmental problems of all kinds. Unfortunately this idea of connection and affection for the land is not wide spread.

Thank you. I feel that you are helping to righten my relationship to the current ecological crisis. I don't feel that I have to be frozen anymore, in a state of fear and guilt. I feel that I can act from a place that is natural and happy. I feel that I can align myself to, and trust, a principal that is right. I don't feel that I have to figure it out. I volunteer to join you in this movement- to step into the story of love- with EVERYTHING that I've got. Yes it's scary. But I know I won't regret it. THANK YOU. ❤️

Point taken, but we clearly need both and, rather than either or thinking. Of course I love nature and seeing it destroyed is very painful, AND its also important to understand that it's indicative of carbon being released at unprecedented speeds, which increases the feedback loop.
Environmental activism and education, as with all complex topics, needs both the human head and heart involved for fuller comprehension.

Something about the way you speak about this topic gets me so motivated, even in a time when all seems lost. Thank you so much. I've been going so downhill, but finding your talks, philosophies and videos has helped me realign myself to do better, and not just wither away. The way you speak makes it easy to understand, yet it still resonates deep on a human level that feels real and equal. It's all so overwhelming, yet any small step helps, and I believe that. Keep preaching! I'm spreading the word, using words you give me to enable others to understand too. As Martha Beck puts it, this will be a revolution from the ground up, like a stack of sugar cubes that melt away with water, forcing those who stand on top to topple down and join the rest.

What motivated me? I got into Discovery Channel long long time ago. That's how i first start to get excited of seeing animals and the nature. A long the way, lived in a big city. Make me feel sick of the human soceity and their developments. I like to travel far away from those cities and soceities just to feel the living nature. I lock myself in a dark space of my mind and create my own world with all the videos and pictures about the nature out there. I read a lot about the world enviroments. I watch about everything that I could about nature. I find its interesting how some human can actually living with the nature. Those tribes hiding inside Amazon forest and those tribles that living on those islands far away from the Today Human Soceities. I realise how much i didnt know about the world. I realise how much a human can actually do without all technologies and those cities. I realise how not everyone actually have the same feeling and understanding about this world like me. I got really really sad about it. But again. Human world is too complicated. They chose the easier way to live, thats their nature. They chose the easier way to do things thats how the6 developed. They will always chose the easier way to do whatever as soon as it will make their life easier. As soon as it will make them rich to be able to do whatever they want without living with the nature and those invisble dangers that out there in the nature. Not everyone grow up to be a zookeeper. Not everyone grow up to love animals so the nature. The problems of this human society and their world with nature? Everyone got seperated away from the nature. Everyone built those cities to be able to make money and living their life. Those cities and development brainwashed them and also stopped them from see the nature. Not everyone will chose to travel to see nature. Many will chose to travel just to be in those fancy cities and buildings with shopping malls. And so on. What motivated me about nature might not be what motivated them about nature. The only way to motivate this human soceity about saving the nature is to somehow tell them the benefit of having nature around them. They will not understand why birds are so important to their world when they use Chemical Spray on their farms. They will not understand why birds are so important when the only type they really care about is which one they can eat. They will not care so much about the sea when all type of sealife are food on their table. They also will not care so much about forest when forest is what give them money on woods and more. The only way to motivate them is to tell them how much money can they make from the nature if they can keep the nature healthy and stop destroying it. All animals have their duty on this planet but to human. They only care how much money can they make from those animals. So forest. So to me? There is no hope. There is only one way to ask them to save nature is to tell them that they will be able to benefit from it much much more later. But not everyone will care about the future of next generation because not everyone have kids. So thats why to me. To save this world nature. First those politicians need to be able to love nature first. Before they ask their people to love nature. Then they will be able to stop world and developing for the nature. Ask Elon Musk if he really care about the world nature? He will tell you that somehow this world will be destroy later on so his goal is to create city on Mars. Thats human. They are crazy. They can do whatever just to make money. Even motivate people to go out there in space to save human future when they dont even care about life on this planet. To them? Even this planet fully destroy. Human, or them, still need to be able to run away from this planet. How will the future of this planet be? Depend on how those politicians want it to be. You cant tell 8 billions people to do somethings that is not "By Laws, Rules and Orders by those Politicians".

I have a friend who loves to hike in nature and enjoys nature shows but drives a very large gas guzzling truck everywhere and has an old gas guzzling SUV as a backup car. He uses single use plastics like they are going out of style. I can't get him to care and cut back on these bad behaviors. I see so many people using single use plastics and shopping and disposing of their stuff so quickly. I get so depressed about it. I can't seem to get them to understand how much unnecessary waste they are creating. In my opinion it comes down to them being self centered.

It makes real sense that a motivating factor is in the experience of the now. It's a bizarre irony when a perspective is taken only considering our personal understanding of what should motivate people and saying that, well of course global warming should motivate us. Maybe so, but to insist it's the only way to understand something to achieve change is mis guided. Boy oh boy have I been guilty of that kind of judgement and thinking. It's like a personal self ritious attitude judging others for being falsely ritious.

Are we nothing more than spectators ?? If we truly are nothing more than consumers then it’s time to only consume environmentally regenerative products. It’s in the consumers hands. Environmental destruction is what we should be fighting We are all fiddling while Rome burns 🥵.

Environmentalists did not make environmental protection and climate change into a political issue. It's not. So it is dishonest to suggest that environmentalists have done this, and not helpful. You can certainly point out that love for the earth is a motivator, but you don't have to buy into the political game by blaming the environmentalists for one side of the political aisle turning this into a political issue, lying about it, styming efforts to get the things done that are needed. I have a book of yours, bought a few years ago, but have been disillusioned to your platform by this and also your anti-vax views pushed on your followers.
