I dont understand why people dislike such videos. You'd have to pay money to gain such knowledge, but Jiggie gives it for free and from the goodness of his heart.
Finally, I've found the flash tutorial I've always wanted to see! I've always been confused about whether to make adjustments on the camera, or with the flash - meaning, how the camera and flash relate to each other. You've explained it all beautifully. Thank you, Jiggie, you're my new flash hero. I'm subscribing to your channel right now!
You are the best and intelligent instructor i have seen in youtube. I am living sydney do you have online course that i can enroll and learn. Also from this video, aperture control flash power if the flash is using in manual, if the flash is ttl then aperture will not affect flash exposure. Pls correct if i am wrong
sir sa lahat po ng flash youtube tutorial na napanood ko, ( foreign ) , yung sayo po yung pinaka malinaw. salamat ng madami, finally alam ko na pano gamitin flash ko po. salamat!
Please accept my sincere appreciations for making such a useful video. It's been quite a while since I've been wanting to learn the flash photography and watched numerous videos, which otherwise were either not to the point or thoroughly confusing. Your video clarified my basics and with conviction I can tell you that today I've taken the first step towards my endeavours, all thanks to you.
I've got a bit cofused on the video tutorials that i've watched before your's. You've helped understand it more clearly. Thank you for reminding me that using full flash power drains the batterries fast. And i've learned from you, in order to avoid that, thats the time i need to increase my ISO. Thank Ji! God bless you!
BRAVO! Thank you, you just made easier for me to understand how to work better with my flash. Before i watched this video, i was very confused... Thank you Jiggie!
hello , unfortunately i had missed this video but today i saw it .Honestly it made my day .Explaining in detail which helps me a lot to understand .Thank you so much and am eagerly awaiting to execute your ideas while shooting .
Best Tutorial I've seen so far!!! Everything makes sense now about all the controls between flash and the camera with much less complication!! Thank you so much!!!
I recently got a flash for my camera and been learning about it and this is hands down the best video explaining how to use the flash i’ve seen out there. Thank you so much!
each YT vid is a useful lesson in using off camera flash. i have my first flash gig next week. i have been watching all of jiggie's YT vids. thank you for the effort and the sharing. lucky us! stay well. thumbs up.
I always did these mistakes as my basics about off camera flash photography were not strong at all .you explained in very detail .each and every aspect about flash setting , camera with ambient light .thank you so much sir
Thank you for sharing. Your video is very helpful for a beginner who is intimidated by flash photography. QUESTION: Can you do a tutorial on how you set up the mannequin head please? I have scoured RUclips and there is none. Can you also include links to the products you use please?
The video is excellent sir. I have a small doubt. Please clarify it. At time duration 12:40,you said that you will increase the iso so that you don't need to use full power thus reducing the draning of flash battery. By increasing the the iso, you are increasing the ambient exposure. My question is,Why don't we decrease the shutter speed instead of increasing the iso, as both ways, we can stop ourselves from using full power on our flash.
Done extremely well. I’ve watched hundreds if not thousands of RUclips OCF tutorials as well I’ve watched several basic tutorials on paid sites. You’ve managed to put together a very succinct beginners OCF course that in less than 15 minutes covers the basics in a logical and easy to understand free lesson. Bravo! Thanks from your newest subscriber.
This videos is really help me to learn about flash photograghy . I am new in photograph . As a beginner a bought sony a6400 with 18-135 kit lens . Now i want to buy camera accessory but its so much expensive. I see my camera and watch your videos. 🙂😌
@@JiggieAlejandrino can I ask I have just started to use my canon 470 aex-ai speed light and I am incorporating your steps ... is it possible to use ttl with manual mode on the speedlight? If so how would go about using this combination?

I have a good understanding on how to begin my flash photography journey; thank you! but, before then I need a subject as I am about to put together a small home studio. Can you please give me information about mannequin head or a full body mannequin to start my journey. I will truly appreciate this. Thanks for the instructional videos. I have a quick question! Is it correct that the camera must be in Manual mode when shooting with flash? Can we use Aperture priority when using flash? Many thanks,
All points are right! The additional info could be that with a TTL capable flash trigger unit: 1. We can have TTL flash exposure with a TTL flash unit for A,S, P mode. 2. One can have manual power control over both Manual and TTL flash units. 3. On non HSS camera one can still use HSS higher shutter speed by making flash to full power output.
1. TTL can still be used even in M mode 2. No you can’t, but you can use flash compensation to make it stronger or weaker. 3. Best people learn and understand the principles of flash sync speed and high speed sync
@@JiggieAlejandrino 1. Yes even in M it can be used. 2. A TTL flash you can still be used in Manual mode, so you can use it as manual flash but no the Manual flash which costs half of TTL. 3. Yes, people have to understand, and to explain them it would be a longer video.
Hi Jiggie, at 12.57 you raised your ISO to 400, which allowed you to lower your flash power and reduce your recycling speed, Thai understand fully and it's a great idea. However because you increased your ISO to 400, surely the ambient exposure will now be 2 stops brighter. You are already at 1/8000 so you cannot increase your shutter speed to lower the ambient. Can you please explain how you correct this increased ambient, I am confused regarding this matter. Many thanks in anticipation of you solution. Michael
