Hi Steve, I didn’t do anything custom for that overlay. If it were in the normal position it would interfere with the viewing area so I suspect they shifted it there so it would be out of the way.
@@stevechiassonfishing5876 Thanks, I have a GN4 SI mega Helix 12 and my overlay is in the left hand corner. I forget where it is when I am in SI mode. But, it would've been nice if HB would allow us to move it around like the old Lowrance models.
What causes interference when you dont have anything else on the boat. Im in a kayak and only have a helix 9 g4n and megalive running. Pedal driven. No other electronics except cell phone and vhf handheld radio.
Interesting question, when trouble shooting, try to eliminate one variable at a time. Try running MegaLive only with no split screen. Then try with radio off. Hopefully you can source the interference. Check your wiring too to see if you have anything else running off batteries. Hopefully the interference rejection helps resolve it.
are these usually due to the other side imaging transducer running or more likely due to the trolling motor ? any thought? did you use the cable choke on your setup or the live mask?
Hi Charles, Mega 360 can cause interference issues for some anglers. I ran an Amped Outdoors 30AH lithium battery to run my MegaLive independently. Therefore I did not use the cable choke. I originally had the mask on but took it off and used the interference rejection.
Hi. I have been having challenges finding recent footage for mega live - the pro shops here won’t give an opinion on any live sonar. Looking for feedback from someone who uses mega live. I’m using a Humminbird system right now but not sure if I should go Garmin. I’m mostly doing smaller bodies of water in Ontario, not as big as Simcoe. Hoping you could help with a few questions. 1) since the update came out has the picture improved? - I saw your whitefish video and it looks about the same? 2) has the interference always been there when I’m the boat or did the updates cause issues? 3) what does a tree or grass look like - is the picture pretty decent? The simulation looks good but not sure about actual use 4) would you buy it again or would buy another live system? Really appreciate it.
Hi Vic, the main improvement with the update is in the jig tracking performance. The Humminbird MegaLive continues to get better with additional updates. Humminbird users who already have units compatible with MegaLive will have substantial savings versus going to a different manufacturer and buying both a unit and forward facing sonar. Personally I have a lot of confidence in Humminbird that the updates will continue to enhance the performance of the units.
I definitely plan on sticking with Humminbird. The Garmin and Lowrance forward facing sonar is quite good. If you know people in your area who have the various units, try to do a comparison for yourself. I am enjoying my MegaLive and plan on sticking with Humminbird.
Thanks...this video helped me resolve my interference issue
Awesome, thanks for letting me know that it was helpful. I appreciate knowing the video served its purpose 😊.
@@stevechiassonfishing5876 yes sir, keep the videos coming. Very informative
Thank you Steve I will try putting that on high first time out I had those interference ring really bad . I will let you know
You’re welcome. I will appreciate hearing your results.
Thanks Steve, good information 👍🏻
You’re quite welcome, thanks for adding a comment.
Can I move the overlay from left hand corner to upper right hand corner like what yours is? Or is it just that way for mega live

Can turning up the interference rejection filter out other things you might want to see?
There may have been a slight decrease in tracking ability but I was still able to see fish.

Also the trolling motor is a known culprit for interference. Definitely try to route your electronic cables away from trolling motor wiring.
I tried this and it’s still not fixing it. Any suggestions?
You can try the noise filter as well. Turning console units on standby can also help.
I had this happen today and had to turn off the 2d sonar ping that was my interference.
Awesome, glad you sorted it out 👍

I don’t believe the updates cause interference. MegaLive forward facing sonar will allow you to see structure such as weeds, rocks, trees, etc.

@@stevechiassonfishing5876 Thanks so much for the responses. I’m strongly leaning Humminbird and this information was very helpful. Thanks again.
Happy to help Vic, let me know if you have any more questions.
Cant you just turn the 360 off would be the easiest
You could but the Mega 360 is a super helpful tool for seeing the structure.
