This movie is something from my childhood I will never forget
Who else tried not to scream during this movie?
yes!
same 😭
Same, messed me up for a lil bit, now I love it lol
Same here! Reminds me that this movie was down scary and amazing. James wan should’ve made a part 2 like fr
"Beware the stare of Mary Shaw
She had no children, only dolls
And if you see her in your dreams
Be sure you never ever scream
Or she'll rip your tongue out at the seam"
That last part is for some reason only in the promotional stuff
I like their addition to “or she will rip out your balls” 😂
In shadows deep where whispers crawl,
Lies the tale of Mary Shaw,
A doll maker with eyes so cold,
Crafted children, tales untold.
Silence grips, her curse a blight,
Speak her name and fear the night,
For those who dare to meet her gaze,
Find their voices lost in haze.
This movie is overlooked due to critics. Despite its issues, I think it’s pretty underrated for how it is.
I completely agree! I seen it in theaters and didn’t understand the pushback. I found it to be good. I’ve seen much worst that has been praised.
Ppl gave this movie so much crap but it is enjoyable.
First pet cemetery “sometimes, dead is better.” One of the best movie quotes I have ever heard.
The Grudge, The Ring, and Dead Silence.. the 3 movies that haunted me till I was an adult.
All 3 of them still scare me even as an adult now 😨😰😭😭
@@melissawinn996 Aww, that just means you're not dead inside like I am haha.
29:36 “Nahh, that’s Hannabelle…” Sergio read that doll to filth. 😂
❤ Absolutely Sam Winchester energy!!! Such a good movie.
HEAVY on the Sam Winchester energy! whole movie kinda gives spn season 1&2 vibes
@@xHeartJae just thought about the episode where Dean said Sam was a big doll collector LOL 🤣
I thought i was the only one who thought that lol
I legit thought that too!!
I never understood why this movie was so hated I thought it was great, scary with the imagery of the tongues missing from peoples mouths, the concept of if you scream you die cause ik I would’ve died if I was in this movie, a murder mystery paranormal movie was a cool concept for the movie, Mary Shaw is one scary bitch so is her main dummy Billy, interesting story, and the twist was great/very unexpected having the grandpa being dead used as a puppet is so wild. An underrated James Wan classic. This scared tf out of me as a kid and the imagery of Mary shaw eating Henry’s tongue has always stuck with me. Also that line sometimes dead is better is from pet semetary.
Woooo we made it through 2023!!!! I’m so happy to be a part of this channel and the horror community. I hope everyone will have a happy new year
The 2000s were saturated with horror movies, but I feel like Dead Silence stood out to me because of its unique directional approach. It gives me the same feeling as The Ring. Good soundtrack and some creative editing!
I definitely get Sam Winchester vibes from the lead in this movie. Also, it’s criminal that Sergio hasn’t seen Supernatural. Even if you don’t do reactions, get on that. So much man candy!!
so happy you two reacted to this film, one of my favourite films to watch when I was a teenager. James Wan is a master of horror ☠️
This movie traumatized me as a kid when I saw it. It's so good though, underrated in my opinion. I read somewhere that there were deleted scenes that sort of turn mary shaw into more of a gray villain of sorts in the reasoning of why she ended up possessing Ella. I just really like this movie. The sound design is superb.
Sergios dancing/singing never fails to make me laugh/smile whenever scary music w a beat plays lol
Sergio-"u dont find billy cute?"
Cody-"NO!" 😂
I got a little emotional in the end when you guys were talking about how much ur channel has grown. I actually discovered ur channel this year
My favorite thing about James Wan films is how there's always, like, three different movies going on at the same time.
I always liked this movie and that ending when I first watched had me life thinking for a bit 😂
Love the Supernatural references; his hair is definitely early Sam Winchester 🤣
I discovered your channel this year & have become practically addicted to your content. I listen to the podcast all the time & I rewatch reaction videos daily. Your content has most definitely become a source of comfort for me and a part of my self care/anxiety management routine. Thank you for being the lovely, inclusive, funny and kind guys you are.
I love horror so much & your content makes me love it even more. ❤
How fast he veto'd getting the doll. LOLOLOL. yes he looked a little like sam in supernatural. hehe
Yes! One of my favorite horror movie theme songs! Charlie Clouser brought his A game while coming up with the soundtrack/main theme.
It's right up there for me with the main theme from the first Phantasm movie, the OG '80s Creepshow, It Follows, Hellfest, etc. ^_^
Absolutely loved the reaction and thank you to introducing me to a 2000s movie I forgot all about 😭
The transitions should be reminiscent of the transitions in the Saw films. Also, I love looking at Ryan Kwanten from the True Blood series👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾😎
Dead Silence walked so Malignant could do somersaults and shit. or whatever Gabriel be doing💀 ik the final product is the result of studio meddling, but I love the atmosphere and the wild twist! I think it gave us a glimpse at the powerhouse James Wan would eventually become! (plus, Ryan Kwanten… 👀)
also, to answer your lil trivia question: PET SEMATARY
This was awesome! The ying yang twins whisper song clip took me out hahaha! And I will always love the way Cody says "Oh no."
Since the first time I watched this movie the soundtrack at the beginning crept me out, I don't know why it just send shivers down my spine.
I would love to see y’all react to all the paranormal activity movies
Definitely ending 2023 off with a banggg😭🩷dead silence is one of my favorite horror movies
Now that you've watched this, you need to see Magic with Anthony Hopkins (1974 I think). Such a great movie!!! Love y'all and Happiest of holidays!! ❤❤❤
This movie is so good, it is one of my favorite horror movies.
One of my favorites, always creeped me out
In my teenage years my friend and I watched this movie. After the movie had ended, we decided that it would be better for her to bring her car into the driveway instead of being parked on the side of the road. It was an extremely windy night and when we got out of the car after bringing it into the driveway it was still and eerily silent and we booked it back into the house and then collapsed laughing over how ridiculous we were being but we were so scared at the time since the wind was howling before we got into the car.
This is one of my favorite horror movies. Still waiting for When Evil Lurks
this movie is sooo goooood, i'm so happy to see u guys react to it
Fortunately it looks like you watched the unrated version of this movie. There's another version of this movie where (for some reason) Mary Shaw does not have that horrific, long tongue. And that's really the only difference between the two versions.
Also at 19:12 little Henry is played by an actor that'll later star in It Follows. Definitely recommend that one.
Anyho, happy new year, guys! Looking forward to a lot of other, horrific movies you're going to watch!
I'm glad this movie is getting a resurgence. It didn't do very well when it first came out, but I always found it entertaining.
Ok now you have to react to Malignant
You guys should watch Stay Alive if you haven’t already
I very much agree with Cody that he was giving Sam Winchester vibes especially on his quest to find out what happened with wife and how Sam is trying to find out how Jessica died the way she did honestly this could probably be a supernatural episode if it had a higher age rating 😂
Thank you guys for the amazing year of content and live streamed. Love you both and wishing you guys a Happy New Year and congratulations on the UPCOMING WEDDING!!! 🎉❤
15:45 Pet Semetary I think?
And yea, I agree with Cody the main lead gives off Sam WInchester vibes, like a knock off with that haircut :P
I am so happy to see this! I didn't think I'd see you guys till 2024! You two have really got me through this year, and you are my date night show! My bf and I love you guys and looking forward to seeing more reactions and game plays in 2024 ❤
@thehorrorbandwagon
FIRST OFF I DIDNT REMEMBER JASON STACKHOUSE WAS IN THIS MOVIE (aka Ryan Kwanten). SPEAKING OF IF YOU GUYS HAVE NOT WATCHED TRUE BLOOD THAT IS 1000% made for you and the channel! Right up your alley. Or at least I think so compared to things you’ve enjoyed on here. It is sooo damn good especially the first 5 seasons. Season 1 and 2 are incredible mysteries that truly keep you guessing.
This is a movie I had zero idea about and randomly rented it from Red Box one day in college around Halloween. I thought the dummy looked kind of silly and thought it was going to be a campy horror movie with a killer doll like Chucky. AND MY FRIEND AND I WERE BLOWN AWAY.
I WAS SHOCKED THAT NOBODY WAS TALKING ABOUT THIS MOVIE. BECAUSE IT WAS ACTUALLY REALLY GOOD AND ACTUALLY SCARY.
I've seen this movie dozens of times & I didn't notice the SAW easter egg until they said it!
OMG how did I miss that?!🤷🏾♀😱
This was my Favourite and "Stay Alive" , "Jeepers Creepers 1 &2" when I was in my Teens ..
I watch this movie when I was in our school and I watched it one more time in my 20s. I’m 39 now just hearing the song gives me chills. Thank you for doing this movie.❤
This movie for some reason reminds me of DARKNESS FALLS and STAY ALIVE. Both movies scared the sh*t out of me when I was in middle school.
Darkness Falls I didn’t sleep without a light on for literally months. And Stay Alive didn’t affect me like that but every now and again I remember freaking myself out about the creepy lady in that movie. Highly recommend if you’ve never seen them. They’re pretty fun.
Wow...same with me. Interesting
I was so disturbed watching this as if i hadn’t seen it before 😂😂😂
Holy Christ you have to react to When evil lurks, it is horrendous, eerie and graphic😳
This movie always scared me so much because Goosebumps traumatized me as a kid and gave me a phobia of ventriloquist dummies. I love it.
"what in the haunted mansion is this"
that got me good
I think if more had been made of the father being in a wheelchair the twist would've hit even harder. Like if the mc was more shocked, I would've been more like 'Oh shit, what's happening.' But tbh that's a total nitpick. I actually re-discovered this movie recently and was shocked by how much I loved it. The image of Mary Shaw in the coffin will never fail to creep me tf out! 😨
Yay! All my favs dropping new shit yesterday and today. Love it.
Awesome viewing! Cody calling it RIGHT before the reveal was great XD Hope you guys have a great New Year!!!
THANK YOU FOR UPLOADING TODAY I REALLY NEEDED THIS
Loved that you guys did this one! Definitely the "scary DVD rental" of it's time. I got nostalgic 😁
Annabelle‘s distant brother haunted me till this day.. i just find dolls or mirrors in horror movies really scary
I can’t believe they didn’t realize Eric Mathew’s from saw 2 3 and 4
Love you guys. I’m so glad I found your channel. Y’all have a great new years. ❤❤❤❤
18:11...How the hell did you think that Billy is *CUTE* ! He's my absolute childhood nightmare... LoL 🤣🤣😂😂
“Sometimes dead is better. “ -Pet Sematary
28:46 "I understood that reference"/ when Sergio starts saying "Billy... Billy!", that's from a Rob Schneider movie called "Hot Chick"🙃
3:35
Not Meg 🤣
31:00 Holy crap, I had never noticed that Billy was actually there 😀
My mom got me watch this movie. I was scared at first and piss off at the end. 😂
this is an intro level horror movie and it does its job well imo
I love ALL movies from horror to just plain disturbing but this is the one film I cannot watch alone
I was a little kid with a bad fear of dolls after Child's Play(Ironically,I love that series now.) I thought I could face that fear by watching this movie. I was wrong.
Omg I am so terrified of dolls, clowns and ESPECIALLY that thing!! I watched the movie Magic, nightmare inducing!
I absolutely HATE this movie for the doll but I LOVE IT bud it’s sooo good. I saw it once and will never again watch it🤣 can’t watch child’s play either. Dolls freak me out nd make my soul leave each time.😭 I hope you guys enjoyed it
i agree with cody, the main character in this gives sam winchester vibes lol
Just finished a rewatch on you reaction to the Fall of the house of Usher and now we get this reaction 😭❤❤❤ y’all too good to us. Hope your new years is great🎉🎉🎉
This and Darkness Falls are two great movies that didn't do well at theaters. But I love them. And once you know what's up with the dad, you can see all the clues on rewatches.
Yup! I always get the two movies confused with each other... Still doing it right now. 😅
You guys should watch Puppetmaster! Disturbing, yet hilarious
I'm so glad you watched this, it's one of my favorites. Donnie Wahlberg is my favorite part of the movie. The parts where all the sound goes out of the room is a very cool touch. I've had a fear of ventriloquist dummies ever since I saw the movie Magic starring Anthony Hopkins when I was way too young to be watching things like that.
I love this movie. It's one of my favorite horror movies.
Around this same time, a horror movie called Stay Alive came out. I love it, I think it's fun to watch. It's literally about a video game that's inspired by Countess Elizabeth Bathory.
Underated!!! Its a quick and easy to watch thriller and the idea is just cool af to watch whether you're a gamer or not. I always wanted it to be a real game so bad
@ryanmalarik4398 I really wanted a real game from it too! Especially nowadays, you can actually incorporate voice activation in games. Missed opportunity
@@Spectreffex Frr...I remember being so fixated on getting my hands on the unrated for so many years cuz I was too young to buy or order it myself 😅 It felt so earned once I saw it even though the additional scenes are extremely clunky and unedited/color graded 💯
@ryanmalarik4398 haha so I'm not the only one who was excited to get ahold of the unrated version, nice.
He looks almost like Sam Winchester, and the cop looks like he's trying to be castiel. I'm loving this movie. Thanks for sharing this one guys. 😊❤
Underrated movie, Mary Shaw what a horror legend ❤
What Did you Guys Think Of Melissa Barrera Getting Fire From Scream 7
gotta watch u say in america i mean communist russia lol
I remember being in middle school and watching this with friends and we wanted this is my garage on a projector and we got the cops called on us for screaming so much 😂😂😂
I love this movie. I will Watch your reaction tonight. The doll is creepy and so nice at the same Time. Happy New year Cody & Sergio and take care. So excited to see what you will do for 2024 ❤❤
Happy new year guys
It's a better movie than I expected, and a rare instance of the villain winning.
The multiple tongues got me when I saw this movie 😭 I did not expect that visual
You 2 should watch Mirrors. It’s terrible, but entertaining lol
Yeees!! You guys made my night
Love that they wanted to see the guys abs throughout the movie 😂 a tip, he’s in the series True Blood and he’s topless A LOT in that! 😅
Thank you guys for closing the year with such a great movie reaction!
Also, why not compromise by getting a Billy the Puppet shirt?
It wouldn't be right if Cody doesn't guess the plot twist twenty minutes into the movie during the last movie watch of the year. "I can't help that I know things!" 😂
Well Donnie Wahlberg was in saw
There was a lot of studio interference with this movie and Leigh Whannell hated the final product. Hence no sequel. =/ He made sure this wouldn't happen again with his future projects.
It’s from the same movie as “you don’t wanna go down that road…” (of course said in a heavy heavy Maine accent)
This reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where Mr.Marbles ran around and scared Jerry. 😅
I’m glad u guys picked this. It’s one of my favorites, dolls always creep me out.
Nice Pet Semetary Reference!
If you look closely in the gallery scene, you can see a prototype Annabelle doll.
I need you all to react to SALTBURN. Like, immediately 😂
Love ❤ this Movie. Happy New Year!
And good call on the intro music Remix. Sending you and some of my favorite horror youtubers something for next spokey Season at home.
LOVE this movie! Its so atmospheric they really dive deep into the ambiAnce. And yes, the theme is a certified bop.
Happy New year everyone ❤
