    My best advice would be to always count the number of strides for each put. Just takes a few seconds to walk from the flag to the ball and is much more reliable than eye measure.
    On the practice green you train puts from
    3, 6, 9 and 12 strides. When you master that you will eliminate most three puts.

    Guys, I just wanted to let you know, just how great your tips are! I ran through the putting drills today before my tee time, and they clearly made a huge difference. I broke 80 for the first time, ever! And went around with 28 putts. Thank you for everything that you guys do, it really does make all the difference to your game when you put them into practice ⛳️🏌️‍♂️ 🙏

    Really just recently discovered your channel. It is spot on for how I like to digest information. I’m like a 90s player and struggle with putting. Don’t quite understand why someone puts their finger in front of their eye or their putter vertically in front of them to read a break? Could you guys or do you guys have a video with the optic hat cam showing this? I normally just try to imagine the ball line like you’ve shown. Played a lot of tiger woods golf as a kid lol so it kinda brings me back to that. Also, really struggle with up hill puts as they always seem to break opposite of what I think. Keep the content coming.

    Putting is voodoo. I played my first round of golf in 1964. Played every year since, avg 30 rounds a year. Have never, ever, had less than 32 putts in a round. Even at my best, when I played off a 5 hdcp, I averaged more than 36 putts a round. My inability to putt drove me away from the game 10 years ago. I am now exclusively a range rat, as the frustration is just too much. Cheers!

    So many good things in this video but one thing you left out, which is absolutely essential is calibrating your eyes to what you see as straight. Eyes over the ball aligning to the hole works for a lot people, but for others the hole will appear left or right of the'line'. For example, for me to calibrate and sync my eyes to the ball > target line, I have to have the ball about 2" OUTSIDE of my eyeline and in line with my lead heel. When I do that, the ball > target line is sync and calibrated and looks right, so I can commit to the stroke. To evidence my point - we stand inside the ball > target line for every other shot in golf and for anyone that knows about rifles, they have to be zero'd (calibrated) to each person using that rifle (iron sights not lazer) we all see 'straight' differntly and it is (in my opinion) one of the most under rated aspects of the game.

    I'm no expert, but on the 3rd 6 ft putt, you immediately followed the ball with your head vs continuing to stare straight down. In other words, you are watching the putt fall vs hearing it fall into the hole. When you follow the ball by turning your head, it is easy to pull it to the inside of the hole. :)

    • @bradfletcher1991
      @bradfletcher1991 3 года назад

      It’s not about your head that will pull the ball, it’s following the ball with your shoulders that does it. If your posture is good, you can look any which way essentially and it won’t affect the ball path. You need to walk away from the “keep your head down” myth ASAP lol

    Excellent tips & pointers! Although, there might be one tip that might could help you out with your stroke. KEEP YOUR DAMN EYES WHERE THE BALL WAS!! Not where it’s going. Your head consistently follows your putter head, then ball path almost like your head was connected on a string to your club head. Stable head, stable hands, stable path.

    • @meandmygolf.
      @meandmygolf.  4 года назад +1

      There are many ways to be 6 feet tall. You may have very long legs and a short body, or the other way around. Some people gain an inch with a long neck or head. Follow the advice right at the beginning of this video, i.e. take your normal putting stance, hang your arms loosely below your shoulders, then bring your arms into your chest and place them on the putter. If you are too far down the handle, then the shaft is too long, and if you are right at the top of the handle then the shaft is too short. Goodluck.

    With respect, one problem you have in this video is that you misinterpret your misses. The last two putts were hit clearly left of your marker despite it being so close but you told yourselves that you hit them correctly. You even moved your target tee peg to the right because you blamed your initial read, but it was the ball path that caused you to miss (and the ball path that enabled you to - luckily - hole the second putt because in hitting left of your marker you were actually on the right line). Whether practising or on the course you have to be ruthlessly honest why you miss.
