- I'm not going to lie to you, the KDX 125 Sr has been one of my favorite bikes I've ever owned. It's about time for mods! Now that I have fitted it with a new pipe, flat-slide carb and a rebuild. This is the best money I've ever spent on one of my bikes. This is the second video of my "racing a classic' series
Tools are an important part of working on any bike, one thing guys often forget is decent lighting so they can actually see what they are doing on the bike. What is nice about a film light is that they have adjustability and light quality that a torch or ceiling light just doesn't have. Question for you, i see conflicting comments online, and its hard to know who to trust. You race this engine so you know for definite the answer..... Which way round do you put your crank oil seals? Spring facing in or spring facing out? My engine is leaking and burning trans oil. Ive done the oil seals 3 times and still leaking. Just had apart and done a leak down test - the cylinder held 6PSI for 45 mins with no leakage now. Ive put back together and its burning oil again but no idea how or where from. All i can presume is the oil seal is strong one way, (holding air in the cylinder) but weak the other way and allowing oil through (like a one way valve if you like). I have my oil seals installed with the flat side facing inwards towards the piston (spring facing out). Which way do you put yours in dude? Thanks, Ben.

Hello friend! Are you still running the original oil pump? Unfortunately carb settings need to be tuned per bike. It's very dependent on your motor/fuel and altitude. Where I live we are at 1450m above sea level so my tuning would be very different to a coastal tune for example 😀 your bike may be injecting too much oil causing it to smoke a lot 😀
@@AdvSouthAfrica hi! I removed the oil pump a year ago maybe. I livebat 350-400m so as you mentioned it it would ruin my whole settings
also, do you run the full 800ml of trans oil or do you go half way up the window? What oil do you use? Its twisting my melon trying to get to the bottom of my trans oil burning issue. lol
I think I run 750ml, it says on the side of my engine case. I just run a 15w40 mineral oil in mine. If you're burning transmission oil then chances are that you need to do bottom end seals. I redid mine at the start if the year because of that, hope it helps!

Apparently UFO plastics does some of them still but they are hard to find

Yes that's all original, including rear shock with linkage
In which shops do you buy your spare parts?
I find parts online, no local stock
What jet size did you end up using?🤔
125 main jet but this is very dependent on the bike and altitude

It's a custom pipe, it's made by one of our local legends here in SA
