in college I met some truly incredible journalists who are now with major organizations. Many of them were also “interns” but were the backbone of the breaking news coverage for local news, writing the reports, scouting the stories, sourcing the sources, etc. Student journalists do more than you’d think. It’s no small time gig. Thank you for serving your community 🫡

This is instructive criticism, speaking habits are difficult to break. “Like” is an extremely common problem, followed closely by an upward lilt at the ends of a sentence which makes every sentence sound like a question to the audience. Vocal fry is a newer problem especially for females trying to drop their vocal tone.
I see other posts making fun of them about that. Most likely from people who'd throw in plenty of 'um' and 'uh' if they had to do a television interview.

It's mostly crime between rival gangs, with an occasional bystander getting caught up in it.
