In the last 20 years it has warmed up and we get about 1 1/2 less months of winter. True story. I bought a window unit air conditioner for our porch but I didn't get to use it until the THIRD SUMMER AFTER THAT, because the next two summers were cold and wet. There are good points to Winnipeg but I couldn't take the climate. The last straw was New year's eve, 2013/2014 when we made the news with the headline ... Winnipeg, colder than the surface of Mars. We moved to BC and now we get maybe 2 days a year where there's snow on the road, we traded minus 40 for plus 40 and never looked back. Winnipeg isn't for everyone.

HEY I LIVE THERE. THATS MY HOME CITY, AND ITS BEAUTIFUL :D
The Number 1 Highway..AKA..THE TRANS-CANADA Highway runs through Winnipeg!!!!
As a former "Pegger". I've been gone for 10 years and the dominant language is now Tagalog. Since so many Filipino people now reside there. Also, the Peg has the most festivals in all of Canada during the summer months. Thanks, for your kind words. ❤👌
Thanks for sharing! This region is so much more diverse than we thought!
English is still the dominant language by far, the peg does have a large Filipino community
English is the dominant language and always will be .
I was there in June, it was hot and humid. Felt like I was in texas..
Yes the hot weather was so surprising!
That's a little exaggerating, Danny Sharp. The average hot temp in Winnipeg is at least 89, and 85 further up north until you're a lot closer to the Arctic Circle. How hot did it get up to when you were there?
@@Religious_manuh this summer it was 107 F or 42C with the humidity making it feel like 117F or 47C most of the summer. Also Winnipeg is nowhere near the arctic.
@@Matthew-km6fi
Holy smoke, in what part of Canada had those temperatures? Imagine the Dust Bowl days of the 1930s! Also, I did not say Winnipeg is near the Arctic Circle. Put on your reading glasses.
Brutal winters. BRUTAL. Cost of heating $$$$$$. Very high and rising crime rates.
Yes it can be a harsh winter! 🥶
Winnipeg gets a bad rep but crime takes place everywhere in every single city some like Toronto and Vancouver do a better job of hiding it hey tourists! Winnipeg and Manitoba is an awesome place to live with so much to do and see if you take the time. Summer, winter, spring and fall.
You used to buy crack off me
It should be noted that many Franco-Manitobans have been assimilated. French was banned in Manitoba in 1890 much like it was banned in New England and Louisiana. In 2016, Manitoba established the Francophone Community Enhancement and Support Act to save and promote the French language and it's Franco-Manitoban culture.
Hey, being assimilated in Winnipeg is still much better than being assassinated in Toronto! 😉
Your English is so beautiful, thank you
Thank you! 😃
Check it out in January!
Awesome video!! Keep up the great work 👍
Hey, got a smoke?
I live in Winnipeg! 🇨🇦

Did they check for warrants when getting in to Canada?
LMAOO
yes, you have to have one to get in!
I've been Winnipeg 22 years ago..can i go there again from KOREA?
Back-to-back Grey Cup Champions! The Winnipeg Blue Bombers!
Didn't mention the majestic Mount Royal Hotel or the historic Sutherland on Main Street.
Nor the praiseworthy vermin that frequent these establishments.
Some things are best left unsaid... Just saying...
Excellent Video and valuable information, visiting Winnipeg soon
0:58 What is ‘the six’?? 🤔

I did.

Great informative video about Winnipeg
Glad you enjoyed it
The last time I was in Winnipeg was more than 42 years ago - before you were born. 😄
Does it look the same?
@@RunTheAtlas The layout is the same, but most of the structures are noticeably different or newly built since the last time I was there. I doubt I could remember my way around if I should visit.
@@RunTheAtlasmuch dirty . Thanks to natives
I grew up in Winnipeg. You’ve not mentioned anything about the major crime rate.I grew up here but left for Calgary in 1999
Because that’s downtown and the north end
@@emptyhad2571it's all over, doesn't matter where you are.
@@zkiphier622 how long have you been in the city?
@@zkiphier622 there’s more positives to living here than negatives
@emptyhad2571 My whole life. Robbed 4 times on public transit with no follow up from police. Multiple vehicles I've had the glass smashed or cat stolen. Clearly there is a benefit. The only benefit is the cheap living
❤❤❤❤❤
Definitely need to be tough to live here.
See ya.
Not going to defend Winnipeg because I don't like living in the area...but plus 40 in B.C? No...
@@josephinakeam6197
I'm American and I was never really aware it gets that hot in B.C. I know it often gets up to at least 26.5C in the summer in B.C. But 39C...how often is that in the Canadian prairies? I'm talking normal summer air temperature readings, not "climate change/global warming temperatures."
@@Religious_man winnipeger here.
Sorta depends, we've had some summers that are almost unbearably hot at 35c+ for a week or so. We've also had summers that don't ever get past 25.
Also when a Winnipeger talks about the weather, it's not small talk. It's an actual conversation
Nice to hear you enjoyed your visit here 👍🙂 my home born n raised but yeah come again 💯❤
We will ❤️ Winnipeg!!
I used to live there, it's a lovely city and the people are so friendly. Nice to go through memory lane. I would just say you need to learn how to say Tagalog correctly
Thanks for the tips! Cheers!
What's Tagalog actually?
@@dilraj6911its a language
Can you tell something about banking industry in winpeg?
Well there are banks here and there and they have some antique cash in them hidden in safes but mostly everyone uses plastic. There's also the Red River which has a bank on each side and each of these banks runs for miles and miles! Just some droll Canadian humor, eh? 😉
I really appreciated 😍😍😍😍
Winnipeg is the city of all chain restaurants
Are you kidding? Compared to Alberta, BC and Ontario, we are missing many big chains. Try Enoteca, Passero, Deer and Almond, Nola, Clementine, all the local ethnic restaurants. Little sister coffee, fools and horses, parlour coffee, Oh Doughnuts, la belle baguette, hundreds of ethnic restaurants. I say we are the opposite of that.
Winnipeg the Coldest city in Canada 🥶
No, that's not true. Winnipeg isn't even the coldest city in Manitoba!
Yes, Winnipeg is famous for being cold in winter, but it's really not bad as long as you're dressed for the weather. A phrase you'll hear a lot is "It's a dry cold". Humidity in The 'Peg is so low, your body heat isn't conducted away. I felt much colder in places like Vancouver or Toronto in winter, becuase the higher humidity chills you to the bone.
That would be Regina
Really interesting, thanks.
good vid
Hello sweet couple. Visit in the south pole durint the winter 😢
Time to move when the biggest attraction in my city is giant perogies

Actually nope.... The 2021 census says English, then Tagalog, then Punjabi, German probably Mennonite, then French. This is for all Manitoba.
More Punjabi than Hindi in Winnipeg.
Just to let you know that I was born in Winnipeg and it is known as the "PEG" not pig . I have never ever heard that expression except by you.
