this looks great! i have watched a couple of your videos on wood kerfing and i am trying to figure out the dimensions on what i should make my project. i am wanting to make a couple of night stands but want it to all be one solid piece of wood. any recommendations on how i can figure out the total length of wood i will need for my “kerfed box”? any help would be much appreciated!! thank you
the total height you want for your stand would be 2 times the radius for the up and down curve and the rest would be regular wood. The width would also be composed of 2 times radius plus a straight part. Knowing that, you start on a curved part and start adding. The curved parts would be less long that a normal straight portion would be.
It was actually pretty surprising to see this evolve in the video and it came out great. The kerfing made me think of my own track saw (i got the Mafell) and how this is a great application of it. Really nice job cutting out all of the tracks, too! I wonder how much weight it can take? E.g. post-covid could you put a decent monitor up there. Out of curiosity, why not include some cable management? Or are you going to wait and see how it is used before actually performing some tweaks?
It can take a lot of weight, I think I could probably stand on it. And yes, I will wait before making holes and see how it is used. The idea is that it is mobile, but waiting and see how it is used is the way to go ;-)
Lovely! 👍
Very nice work and excellent presentation.
Thank you!
Very nice. Simple, clean, yet still warm.
Thank you!!
Nice work.
Undermount drawer sliders will make it clean
True....not easy to find here though
