I really think something needs to be done for the AK family, at least one of them should be in the top 3 assault rifles. They all suffer greatly, especially the Ak101, which is basically only a weapon you’ll take until you find an Aug or M4 for that larger mag capacity. The AKm has the drum mag at least and the 74’s have the 45rd mag. Show the AK101 some love dev team.
whats funny about the AK101 is it was never planned to be an AK101, it was originally ment to be an AK74M according to the artstation profile of the designer who made it, thats why it just uses Ak74 mags that are retextured instead of actual 5.56 style AK mags. The art station profile also shows it with a GP-25, personally i think they should change it to 5.45 or give it a 7.62x39 mag and add the GL to it and have that be the AK74M's or AK103's gimmick that it comes with a UBGL, the current "AK101" is just useless bloat that dose nothing for the game and isnt even correctly modelled. Always kinda felt like padding for the 5.56 rifles but now the devs have added so many its not needed anymore.
The KAM stats are definitely disappointing, but then again the stats aren’t accounting for the light weight and ability to have a 75rd drum + suppressor
Bless you for figuring it out. CR 550 Savanna seems fantastic but the recoil after a shot is so high you won't be able to see if you hit your target and I see that as a significant drawback. If you're an expert marksman with any sniper then go for it, I suppose. Savanna's damage getting bumped up would help sweeten the deal. It should do more damage if the recoil is that much higher., one would expect.
Don’t know whether I read this wrong but the M 79 shouldn’t have any differences in damage as regards to distances because its damage will be the same no matter how far or close when it explode on impact

absolutely and a huge advantage of the AUG is that in can fit in your Hunting bag, leather bag or combat backpack and doesn't take up a ton of space. For instance if you happen to find another large weapon you want to carry just stuff it in your pack @@ynwgoob6467
I have another idea for a weapon stat: "durability". For example if I have a damaged mp5 and no weapon cleaning kit how many rounds or mags can I expect it to fire before the gun becomes ruined.
I think that in DayZ weapon comparison tools should not focus raw stats. It would be better instead to have some sort of comparison that show the ratio of how good weapon is in terms of stats versus how good it is in terms of durability plus the exonomics side of the question (how simple to get a weapon, ammo, does it need mags etc.). Thus, we could have an instrument that can show us different sides of weapon balancing (maybe even devs would love to see something like that).
It's a small thing, but I really feel like the grenade launcher should keep the same amount of damage no matter when it lands, considering it's a set amount of explosive lol

It's just projectile damage. The explosive damage remains the same regardless of distances as it wouldbe programmed the same as grenades, and grenades don't lose damage the farther you throw them lol. It's all good brother haha

The damage of the projective should obviously lose damage since it’s going to be slowed by air resistance, especially since it’s typically shot in an arch where top speed will be when it leaves the muzzle, and slow down until its apex, and then speed up, but far from muzzle speeds until it lands.
My problem with the Mosin has been the bullet velocity. I feel like it's much easier for me to judge the lead on .308 rifles. Probably has more to do with the ancient PU scope on official. The modded scopes probably make it much easier to use

Double shot makes blaze the best long range sniper still. No other sniper can 1 shot down plated people at 310m+. The spread of the double shot is still on target and is also a good thing. Increased odds of headshot at range and an arm shot could include a body/leg shot due to it only spreading vertical. I also don't want you to promote it :)
1050 isn't near max view distance, it's 50m above the default networkRangeFar parameter - the so called player bubble. But I gather that's what you meant. FWIW 1000 m is the default value, but when an entity that is governed by said parameter is exiting it gets an extra 10%. I've played on servers that set this parameter at 3km to get close to an ARMA like experience. The sorts of things governed by the "player bubble" are players, AI, tents, vehicles, base structures, custom scenery objects that are not on the downloaded map, etc.)
i dont think the bolt action snipers should be buffed to be equal to the svd or dmr because those guns shouldn’t be rare for no reason. The better the gun the harder it should be to get. If all the guns would get completely balanced it would get really boring
DMR is broken, M70 Tundra, Savana and Mosin should be the best weapons for damage over range because of a simple reason longer barrel=faster buller=better damage(with some exceptions).
I think that tge drum mag should be taken in consideration in order to do a tier list... I would never choose a Le-mas over an M4 with a 60 rounds mag as an AR. My personal AR Top 3 is 1- M4 2-AUR AX 3- AKM (drum mag)
i don't really think you can compare the hunting scoped rifles with the dmr/vsd. the dmr and vsd are more useful at small/medium range, and a hunting scope for long range
Good video, but I think dps loses importance after a certain point, and can even be a detriment if you bump it up too high. Especially since all AR's can kill or ko in 1-3 shots at short range. I would take an akm with drum mag over a famas every time. The order of the top 10 weapons is probably largely subjective depending on which attachments and optics you like best. Having to reload 3x as often with a famas means I would never consider it the best ar personally
I always prefer the tundra for sniping I found that all the others give off a animation when I land a shot and the tundra well that’ll just kill you if not sleep you
I also love the ASVAL. Would love to see the AP rds get a buff, but maybe make them a bit more exclusive/rare to say gas or crashes, dynamic events, etc.
I have to ask, what is the logic behind an explosive grenade from the M79 losing damage over distance? Is that the grenade hitting your directly, such as a smoke round, or is that including the explosive damage?
It's actually something that is a real world mechanic. Most 40 mikemike rounds need to hit something (or someone) in order to detonate & the velocity of the impact is coupled with the explosion to create the damage. When you just launch one into orbit, there's a chance that the velocity will slow down to the point where there's not much inertia behind to make it as powerful as it would be within optimal range. They also have a minimal flight range as well, so hitting something with one that is inside that minimal distance can only suffer the impact & not the warhead exploding.
Correct, the stat is just accounting for damage from hitting someone with the physical 40mm projectile; the explosive damage doesn’t decrease proportionally over distance like you experience with bullets.
@@SHOGUNTHEIMPERIAL some of that might be true irl for 40mm rds, but that’s not how they work in dayz. There is no minimum arming distance nor force to cause detonation. In Dayz if you fire an explosive 40mm that shit is detonating the same at 1m or 500m.
@@jkull173 100%. The arming of the round is, or at least was when I used the M79 20+ years ago, based on revolutions (spins) of the round from memory. So it needed to do x amount of spins to arm in most cases. I would be interested in seeing more about the increase in damage from a shorter firing distance. It makes sense to some extent, but I honestly don’t think it’s going to be much. I may be wrong, but I thought the old gold tops had a lethal zone of around 5metres.

Seems slightly skewed in favor of rate of fire/dps when this probably should be 1 stat no? Rate of fire seems to be redundant with your DPS stat being far more relevant I'd say at least. Beyond that some weightage should be given for attachments (scope's most importantly). In my opinion at least, a sniper which can use a Hunting scope is far more desirable compared to a PU scope for example. This aspect seems overlooked.

The distance it takes to 1 shot a player for guns. Either dead or uncon chest vs heads shots. I'm sure there's a way to tell from your charts but we dum dums😅😅😅
I don’t think this list considers optics at all. A downside of the famas is it’s lack of optic (in my opinion) making spraydowns at mid range a bit harder, and a downside of the mosin’s PU scope is that it doesn’t zoom nearly as much as the hunting scope or ACOG scopes
its a close quarters gun, it doesnt need sights, it rips at close range and even up to around 150m i have managed to hip fire and kill someone before., its really underrated

Well, that must have either been desync or you hit the guy in the arm (limb shots have way lower damage multipliers and will definitely not net you a kill even at point-blank ranges)

For me the weapon diversity isnt that great. I mean you have to bust your butt for a dumbo m4 that shoots like a minigun and an AK or aug, theyre in no way qorth the hassle lol. Theres so much more to the pvp, these "rare" guns are just useless. Id rather stick to my sval/m16, Usg45/sg5k and a 9mm sidearm with silencers. Dont get me started on those ridiculous AR silencers.
I don't see how this game has survived ten years on broken promises. And stealing console players money just to make pc better. "Its not possible on console." That's crap and devs are lazy.
all 308 snipers should do the same dmg close up and at range, its the same round, having a differnt gun does not make the bullet less powerful. a shorter barrel will decrease the fps but in the longer barrel rifes it will all be roughly the same. its so stupiud that they do it by gun and not by round.
we. need. weapon temprature. have it increase slowly but make it quickly break your gun/suppressor if you're on the 3rd 60round stanag on full auto and the barrel is already glowing and at 600 C°

We definitely have one stat which is missing. Its reliability so how often you get malfuntions and how often you need to clean the weapon.

AUR AX hands down. All you need is a crossbow and an AUR AX with a ATOG scope and a military suppressor. That’s my go to carry. Nice video ✌️

This is about the projectile impact damage. If you get hit by the shell itself, not the explosion caused by it

Yep. According to my tests, DMR has less durability HP.

got a couple kills with the dmr but holy shit, the 6x acog is terrible. Wayyy to shaky and too difficult to line up a shot quickly

Yeah. I prefer the 4x acog by a long shot easier to use at mid range, and still somewhat suitable for longer range. Plus the mildots are nice
I don’t think this list considers optics at all. A downside of the famas is it’s lack of optic (in my opinion) making spraydowns at mid range a bit harder, and a downside of the mosin’s PU scope is that it doesn’t zoom nearly as much as the hunting scope or ACOG scopes
its a close quarters gun, it doesnt need sights, it rips at close range and even up to around 150m i have managed to hip fire and kill someone before., its really underrated

To me it sounds like it works the way half-life of elements works as in:
800m = 50%
1600m = 25%
2400m = 12.5%
Every X meters you lose 50% of the REMAINING power

I really don’t want snipers to get a buff of any sort. If anything they should be nerfed. They give you so much power already and running around all day just to get 1 shot with a sniper is not a good feeling
I think it's whoever shoots whoever first with about any gun.. with my luck I can have an m16 and get shot with a flare gun and boom! I'm dead. because they hit me first. I must just suck I guess? but it's still fun.. lol

Yeah it was on official. I have to video if you care to see it. I hesitate to call anyone a cheater. But based on the DMR stats it should have done 150 damage. Minus his plate protection, so 75 real damage. Dude kept running like he got hit by a sporter

Well, that must have either been desync or you hit the guy in the arm (limb shots have way lower damage multipliers and will definitely not net you a kill even at point-blank ranges)

For me the weapon diversity isnt that great. I mean you have to bust your butt for a dumbo m4 that shoots like a minigun and an AK or aug, theyre in no way qorth the hassle lol.
Theres so much more to the pvp, these "rare" guns are just useless.
Id rather stick to my sval/m16, Usg45/sg5k and a 9mm sidearm with silencers. Dont get me started on those ridiculous AR silencers.

all 308 snipers should do the same dmg close up and at range, its the same round, having a differnt gun does not make the bullet less powerful. a shorter barrel will decrease the fps but in the longer barrel rifes it will all be roughly the same. its so stupiud that they do it by gun and not by round.
It's for diversity between guns, otherwise you would be 1tapping fully geared with longhorn

we. need. weapon temprature. have it increase slowly but make it quickly break your gun/suppressor if you're on the 3rd 60round stanag on full auto and the barrel is already glowing and at 600 C°
and smoke/steam would be nice. example: hot gun gets rained on or thrown into water
