Delores, needs to come out and sing these tunes ! Trust, you will have a massive following x.x Both albums are massive 👌 since I was 15! Got on vinyl, 12" and albums in vinyl, true fan ,honestly x.x.x Please get in touch, we can make things happen on the u k. You are amazing and live your tunes still!!! I'm now 48! But still timeless, all the the tunes
Was and still am a big Loose Ends fan. For me, the best UK Soul act of the 80s and 90s. However as a kid, Deluxe simply sent me to orbit with My Mama & Papa, plus the other timeless classic, Forever in Love. Let's just say, the 80s and 90s were simply the greatest years of Soul, R'n'B, Swing, Hip-Hop......man, just about everything.
Rosaline Joyce, Thomas Esterine , Delores Springer...ya know what it is...takes me back... changed my life...thats sum dope shit right there...feel me...
Such a fantastic track. Sadly I have not been able to find this tune on any music streaming service, it only seems to exist on RUclips video, not even on RUclips music. That's a damn shame.
Deluxe members were: Delores Springer and produced by Toyen Agbetu. After Nick Martinelli i would rate Toyen as the under ground genius behind Brit Street soul (Roslyn Joyce, Thomas Esterine, Deluxe etc..) . As you said .. the 808 Roland beat machine; distinctive on Loose ends and Deluxe, even S.O.S band (Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis)
YES ! Loose ends , S.O.S band , every production of Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, alexander o'neal, cherrelle, 52nd street, Five Star etc..(many Martinelli productions) were the best of best users of the 808 ....GEE I love these bands !
Can you believe that an album of deluxe on cd was recently on eBay for 600 pounds! I grew up listening to deluxe and loose ends! I still now go to the gallery reunion in Manchester i was lucky enough to get to see loose ends live in Manchester at the Nia center in 1991 when they were still together as a full band and they were just amazing! Years later i saw Carl McIntosh as the loose ends experience at the academy and I'm sorry to say that it was really poor and a real let down however the SOS band were the main act and they were brilliant!
Southern Africa (Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, South Africa, Moza, Malawi, Angola, Namibia) represented my friend !! When you posting? Looking forward to your stuff from the 'archives'....
This is the 12" version. Got the album as well...only choons featured maan!!!!Love this band and all related artists (Rosaline Joyce, Keni Stevens, Tomas Esterine, Dazzle, Andy Sojka crew,...) Keep it goin'bro'!!
My oh my! How could I even forget about "Your Loving Drives Me Crazy"? Another baaaad tune by Deluxe from back in the day. So sad the rubbish we have to put up with in this day and age, labelled as R'n'B, Soul, Hip-Hop, Swing, you name it.
i remember way back at brets night club when dj darlington masenda first played this song.rumour was tsitsi vera from london brought her the copy.deluxe was a boom then and now and forever.
@manyamurani.... wat a question... I think Loose Endz were way more mainsteam and got more radio play. I also think the production on their music was superior to Deluxe.... But it is a tough one... very similar in style and I wouldn't wanna be the one to say.... anyone else?
