i lived in Kenya and the Kenya army train based on the british army and are very good . Their soldiers are brave and very capable. The SAS are a different matter all together however... they are the best in the world, my father was ex SAS and we never even knew he was until he died and a whole load of SAS guys turned up at his funeral! thats why we raised regiments of ghurkas before the Nepalese wars were over!!! both mine and my wife's grandfathers fought alongside the ghurkas in Burma, and the admiration for these warriors never left them.

They're still SOF, and SOF can generally have whatever small arms they choose. The KDF, while professional and relatively well equipped for an armed service of their size and military budget, do not widely issue this rifle and the majority of their forces use a mixture of older G3 variants, and American M4 rifles.
He did what he did because he wanted to, no praise, no bragging just glad to help. No matter what the cost to himself. The word hero is used too often and I'm sure he would not want that tagged to him. God bless that man.
Thank you for covering this. Not enough videos highlighting what this man did for a country not even his own. He truly displays the type of action men should hope to exemplify. I can only hope one day I can emulate a fraction of his bravery.
No one’s covering this because it doesn’t contribute to global instability and finger-pointing. It’s a British guy on vacation at the right time in the right place. Saving Africans… that doesn’t help promote the race war.
Proper solid lads, honestly better than any other special forces on the globe. It's mad to know how one special forces operator has the minerals to step up to such a horrific event.
When fellow Scot Sir David Stirling came up with the idea of an SAS whilst recuperating on his hospital bed, I wonder had he envisioned his “Hit and run” teams going in like this, literally running singlehandedly, against whatever odds and coming out on top. This man is a credit to humankind, no frills, no book deals, no kudos and no matter...jobs a good un, lives saved, all the thanks he’ll ever need!
Very respectful video on this tragedy. Respect to the SAS man machine. Obviously he and the Kenyans knew he had the superior training, but to actually step up and apply it is amazing.

It said at the end of the video that he was also nominated for a George Cross. This is a British award for gallantry in the face of extreme danger, but not in enemy presence. I'm assuming this is because the incident wasn't during a war. But he more than earned it.

Roger Courtney and David Stirling didn't know each other, just like they didn't know Orde Wingate. And Delta was founded by Charles Beckwith, who was seconded to the SAS and wanted to form an SAS style special force in the US Army. And SBS being the first special forces? Nope, not at all.

Being British 🇬🇧 and ex-army myself, Iv never been more proud of our SAS living legends.
This video actually made me cry with how brave he was on that day, also showing why our special forces are a cut above the rest👍🏼
The SAS don’t fuck about. We are very lucky to have such an elite fighting force. All SAS soldiers are the bravest of the brave- God bless the SAS!!! And, their brothers the SBS!!!!
Thanks for the compliment bro God bless you :)
SBS?
Don't forget the SRR
gair henderson -yes, you are right - I forgot about the SRR (Special Reconnaissance Regiment) - also truly elite and capable group
we have 6 units of sf in the uk,not just sas or sbs
This guy is incredible, one man... one man. He activates his training, works with people he doesn't know, put's his life at risk repeatedly and gets the job done.
As an Australian, I'm thankful we have the Brits, Canadian and Americans by our sides.
It's actually unfair to our enemies how lethal this combination is....
You to mate...I served with US..Brits...never had a field chance with Anzaks...CDN here...we would kick each others ass in a bar...then get drunk together after. You had to prove yourself with tough boys becoming men.
Red white and blue..
Well he did know them as he was there to help train them but yeah crazy how training kicks in
This 💯🔥🔥
Did you know that we the turks fucked up all of them in ww1 and ww2. Don't talk shit and read history. Turkish soldiers are and will the best forever.
To their credit the Kenyan military conducted themselves in a professional manner exhibiting braveness, good tactical awareness and movement.

Cheers to the SAS trooper from a brother in America.
The actions of this SAS trooper makes you proud to be British..

I saw an interview with this guy Christian, and he said he was accepted into the SAS on his last attempt!
Don't know if u ever going to see this Chris. I love u man,may God bless u n protect u all days of ur life,a simple Uruguayan guy living in NZ!
now thats a pair of bollocks thank god for the SAS

Massive set of bollocks mate 👍🏻
Later 2 trucks arrived and the SAS trooper left on the first, his balls left on the second
i lived in Kenya and the Kenya army train based on the british army and are very good . Their soldiers are brave and very capable. The SAS are a different matter all together however... they are the best in the world, my father was ex SAS and we never even knew he was until he died and a whole load of SAS guys turned up at his funeral! SAS reign supreme, they arr exceptionally brave and strangely humble as well.... Just never make the mistake of thinking humble is fear and take one on!!! Oh one more thing my father had some Ghurka in his regiment and he reckoned they were awesome soldiers... Though again I never knew they must also have been SAS!
thats why we raised regiments of ghurkas before the Nepalese wars were over!!!
both mine and my wife's grandfathers fought alongside the ghurkas in Burma, and the admiration for these warriors never left them.
💪🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧💪
Its like a honor for them to be selected for the british army its a big deal for them train when there realy young ......if you need a trench or bunker cleard send the gurkas in brutal get the job done
nice you just broke the official secrets act
@@louis2614 No he didn't. He said that is deceased father was in the SAS - why on Earth would you think that broke the Official Secrets Act?
Watching obi wan Nairobi (Christian) work is amazing. Everyone is running out, he keeps running back in. We’re so lucky to have men like this defending the defenseless. Thank you Christian.
Kenya's army looks well equipped, SCAR H is not a cheap weapon to be sure.
They're still SOF, and SOF can generally have whatever small arms they choose. The KDF, while professional and relatively well equipped for an armed service of their size and military budget, do not widely issue this rifle and the majority of their forces use a mixture of older G3 variants, and American M4 rifles.

DO NOT MESS WITH THE SAS
Makes me shed a tear. Love from the US
It's also fascinating to see armed civilians who also joins the efforts in rescuing the trapped civilians
He did what he did because he wanted to, no praise, no bragging just glad to help. No matter what the cost to himself. The word hero is used too often and I'm sure he would not want that tagged to him. God bless that man.
First man in, last man out. The SAS are hand down the most elite soldiers in the world. Every Special Forces group on earth are based on the SAS
He was on the Shawn Ryan show recently. He actually wasn't requested to give assistance, he just did. Balls of British Steel!
Terrorist attack happening.
Lone SAS Trooper: Hold my pint.
When all of us would run away from danger, This man runs towards it. Absolutely fearless.
I know it is a bit late for an comment but I just want to say that he is a hero as well as the Kenyan military and the civilians that helped him
It’s never too late to comment 😂
Gosh, this is one heck of a man. Thank God there are men like this in this world.
Well basically after all look how he proved the idea
He probably just does some menial job now…
He would be proud. The spirit of Paddy Mayne.
Very respectful video on this tragedy. Respect to the SAS man machine. Obviously he and the Kenyans knew he had the superior training, but to actually step up and apply it is amazing.
British SAS and SBS, big respect from Brazil.

I reminded of the Spartans. When another city state asked Sparta for military aid one Spartan Hoplite would be sent. This served as an insult and a warning. The insult was to the state asking for help, one Spartan is all the help you need and the warning was to their enemy, one Spartan is all it takes to defeat you. This SAS Trooper is the one Spartan without the insult to the Kenyans...

This video does an excellent job at highlighting the bravery of everyone involved and the incredible power of teamwork. Very well done.
there is no team work on the video! vice versa ! the actions of the special forces are scattered! a British specialist generally runs around, you’ll understand where))) one. to work alone in such an environment is a disregard for the lives of the hostages! well, and his own) I think he was under some kind of substance)))) taking out the hostages - he didn’t even look in the direction of dangerat all!

It said at the end of the video that he was also nominated for a George Cross. This is a British award for gallantry in the face of extreme danger, but not in enemy presence. I'm assuming this is because the incident wasn't during a war. But he more than earned it.
Respect from Greece! Our Special Forces are based on the SAS with the same moto!
Who Dares Wins!
The SAS has a shared heritage with a lot of special forces units, Belgium, Australia, NZ, even the US Delta force.
@LaPugsley No, those units have seperate origins. You clearly haven't got a clue. Go and read about the SAS in WW2 and Charles Beckwith.
@LaPugsley Go read: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special_Air_Service#Influence_on_other_special_forces en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1st_Marine_Infantry_Paratroopers_Regimenten.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sacred_Band_(World_War_II)en.wikipedia.org/wiki/5th_Special_Air_Service
As for the SBS having a shared heritage, yes in the way that they were two special forces raised during WW2 but not really.
Absolutely! The free Greek were one of the first companies in the SAS in WWII. As a Brit, big respect to the Greeks.
