I thought he was a pretty good manager. Won the Supercopa and La Liga in his first full season. He brought young players through the acadamy and they have started in many games for Barcelona. This season I think he still did well considering the squad they have and how bad their defense is. Maybe the club felt losing to PSG in the champions leagure was part of why they were unhappy with his champions league performance. Bayern, Chelsea, United, AC Milan and now Barcelona. There’s no more stability on these clubs. Thanks to incompetent ownership, crazy decision making and literally no common sense all around attitudes. I think the only stable club would be Real Madrid, Leverkusen (depending upon Xabi’s results on the 2nd season) and maybe City. As for City I would also say it’s not finalized as the 115 charges are hanging over them not to mention Pep could leave anytime soon.

He's done him a friend's favour obviously. If he walked out he would've got no compensation. Now that he's sacked him they're gonna have to pay him however many years were left on his contract.

Whether Xavi was a failure or underperforming glitch is up for debate. Still, he was the first to announce the resignation so he shouldn't be in a shock. Soccer like any other business isn't for fun but money and results. Maybe Laporta was buying some extra time while looking for concrete candidates or he really got pissed off with latest comments that is another debate. In the end, Xavi wasn't going to win anything with the type of style and mentality he tried to implement. Flick? Can't be worse than trophy less season...
