your channel is cool. way better than car care nut guy on youtube. that guy never responds to his subscriber that is why i unsubscribe from his channel.
I appreciate that Sir!! (I don’t really understand, what the hype is all about when it comes to his channel. Is he really teaching anyone how to fix their vehicles?) 🤷🏼♂️
@@VikingsGarage no he just goes on an on explaining and lecturing about the detail mechanics of car instead of showing and helping regular people fix and maintain their cars. your instruction videos are simple and easy to understand and follow. i have save thousands doing the basic maintenance to my 4 runner so i appreciate you helping us regular people. thank you.
@@VikingsGarageI believe he used to go through more detailed procedures and processes. I’ve been a long time subscriber on that channel as well…. However, I believe as his channel grew over time, he changed how he made his videos and started making videos on more models and generic information across many models. So not as much detail. I find the information he shares informative and but more entertaining than educational. I value your detailed insight and explanations and step by step processes and find them very educational. Thank you for staying consistent and never depart from what made your channel great.
Thank you sir!! You just saved me big time! My RAV4s evaporator was clogged and flooded the passenger side carpet and floor mat. I used a compressor to relieve the water. Got two massive puddles of water out. I’m picking up the cleaner asap. Thanks for your tips and help. All good things to you sir!
That's really helpful, Paul. For some reason, Toyota doesn't have a circuit in their AC system that eliminates the buildup of moisture from condensation like other manufacturers have. One way to help reduce that moisture is to turn off the AC about 5 minutes before getting home and keep the fan going and turn off the air recirculation function so that outside air can get in. This helps to dry the AC system and cut down on the mold/mildew issue from the condensation that collects and sits. Your cleaning method is definitely necessary with Toyota AC systems. Thanks!
Except that doesn't always help. If you live in a humid area, and you have it on recycle, you're pulling in drier/conditioned interior air, but when you turn off the ac and put it on vent, you're introducing super humid outside air which will condense all over the cold coil. I few minutes of running the fan isn't going to dry that out. You're better off just making sure it's off recycle so it can vent after you turn the car off.
Thanks for this tip, my ac has been throwing mist lately as soon as I turn it off after running it or whenever I have the circulation button off. Can never find out what the issue was but I’m assuming it’s this now that you mention it.
I took the tip from TCCN to shut off the AC but keep the fan on, a few minutes before you get back home which helps prevent these things from happening. Doesn’t mean it won’t, but something I figured I’d share. Worse of course if you park in a garage and not outdoors of course, but it can still happen regardless. Like him, and you, I’d use the Toyota HVAC deodorizer/cleaning kit like you’ve used here. Appreciate it brother! Soli Deo Gloria~
@@VikingsGarage Okay, here's a good one, I have a 2012 4Runner Trail, the bluetooth, navigation, and Audio and Apps buttons does not work most of the time when you press them. The AM and FM radio works, I change from FM to AM by scrolling through the pages. I went to my local Toyota Dealership Service and after checking it and even disconnecting the battery they advised I need a new radio unit. After several days they could not find one even a refurbished unit. They also told me there were no updates and basically my radio is to old and they cannot even install a newer radio from Toyota because my vehicle's computer would not be compatible. Any suggestions? I am shocked Toyota is leaving me hanging.
@@VikingsGarage Thanks Paul, been checking around in youtube so far, there are several units any suggestions of what brands and models to lean towards. I don't need all the bells and whistlers just a solid replacement, bluetooth, navigation, rear camera, steering wheel controls basically to replace the existing in the 2012? BTW the radio unit is the second one, the original was replaced by Toyota after 6 years (was under warranty at the time thank goodness) and now 6 years later this one is failing, interesting. Wonder if you have seen that longevity of the radio untis with the 4RUNNERS, I love the Gen 5, it is super.
Have you seen the alignment “adjuster” seized in the lower control arm bushing? Just had an alignment and the tech brought me out to show me. I have a 22 4Runner
is that normal that my Higlander does let any small hose to go through the drain hose? i am worried i would buy these stuff and still will not be able to go through the drain hose.
It's worth noting for the smell adverse, you can skip spraying into the vents. That's just air freshener. Cleaning the coil is what's going to remove mildew smell.
The only thing I dislike is you can physically see the evap so you don't know if your getting a full true covering of the whole coils. I know it's in an impossible spot to physically see and would take a Lotta time to remove parts to get to it and isn't worth it.

Unfortunately when it comes to radios, believe it or not you’re better off with an aftermarket unit.
I’ve seen this before, the issue you have.

Most OEM radio units after a while just don’t hold up. Kind of normal. 🤷🏼♂️
Awesome !

Well, thanks for another easy project to do on the FJ. Wonder if I should do my 99 Camry too.
Absolutely you should!!
You’ll be surprised how much it improves the quality of air coming through the vents.
Have you seen the alignment “adjuster” seized in the lower control arm bushing? Just had an alignment and the tech brought me out to show me. I have a 22 4Runner
Super common, has to be massaged yearly or it will seize.
4 runner is the same process ??
Precisely!!👍🏻
If it hasn’t been massaged is there anything like a trick to unseize it? The tech was saying he has to cut them off and replace the LCA
Sometimes that is the case.
is that normal that my Higlander does let any small hose to go through the drain hose? i am worried i would buy these stuff and still will not be able to go through the drain hose.
You should be fine
Does it matter that my new 4runner is 1234yf not 134a?
It does not matter! 🤘🏻
I thought the foam is supposed to be before any of the spray in the intake vent
There’s no difference which gets done first.
Either way you choose, works. 👍🏻
