LITERALLY COULDN'T CLICK THIS VIDEO FAST ENOUGH. That being said. Mad respect for the Zone Gang gotta throw what works for you. Counter Point: Discraft actually likes the Zone and Innova hates the Pig and happiness....soooooo halo pigs soon?
Jawbreaker zone sticks to the ground, beats to a very straight flyer without losing all of its fade. Just picked up the Hammes tour series Jawbreaker Z flx and it’s really the best of both worlds with amazing grip! ❤
I actually really did enjoy this format as it really gets into the finer details and that you can't just wright off discs that have so much potential value in someone else's game
Love these type of videos. For me personally I’ve tried both the pig and the zone, and I prefer the zone. If we include all approach discs on the market, the A2 or A3 are my preferred options. I feel like the A2/A3 are more predictable than the zone for me. Sometimes the zone goes straighter than I anticipate, and sometimes it fades more than I expect it will. I have an A3 in 200 plastic that has just as much, if not more tackiness than a pig for those shots that have to stick. Also I carry a 750 A2 that won’t lose its fresh stability level for probably 1-2 years of beating on it.
Great video. Like how you often included price ranges. This is a bit different for you guys as you give counter points. I am a zone person as the pig feels ‘weird’ to me. Also I was not finding the zones to be that expensive…but, pigs are definitely cheaper. The BIG THANKS for fully explaining the pig and its roles as Robbie has tried, but after years I had not fully understood until now.
Yeah I agree with most everything said. But I am one of those people who bag both. The pig I use for touch shots, basket runs, and short approaches. The zone is shot shaping through trees and hard left or right shots alternating between backhand and forehand. Both are great in these different situations.
I lost my beat-in slightly overstable Z Zone and replaced it with a R-Pro Pig I had lying around. Does pretty much the same job with less power, so maybe a bit more versatile in that sense. Still have putter Zone as a putter and Titanium Zone for added overstability in my bag.
I don't actually use my Zone for approaches, I use it as a mid range when I need more reliability. With the Zone I often found myself flying 50+ ft past the basket. This is a side effect of how I play, I don't really pull out an overstable approach style disc until I'm around 120ft or closer. And in those situations I want something very overstable with basically 0 glide. Otherwise I'll use a putter, it's just easier for me. A 130-180ft straight putter backhand just makes more sense to me than trying to spike in an overstable disc. Again, this is an issue with me not a flaw of the disc. I use a jawbreaker Zone, a Z Zone and a VIP Harp for various mid range shots and a Sokibomb Slammer for crazy scramble shots so I'm still bagging just as many or more approach discs as most people.
Haven’t thrown the Zone, but have thrown a Thoughtspace Temple which I’ve heard is basically the same disc and it doesn’t work well for me. I love the Pig, though, that’s my get out of jail free card. My other go to disc for a similar slot is the Innova Rat. Great forehand approach, decent overstable approach to mid range disc, great hand feel, and forehands nicely off the tee. I often bag both the Pig and the Rat. The Rat is also usually only like $11 to $15.
Ya'll are high. 😂 I do agree that the 'tackiness' of the Pig is superior, however. It's a great choice for when you really need something to land and stick like velcro. My wife and I were just having this debate over beers the other night, because she shocked me when she said she is going to take the Pig out of her bag, after it being a mainstay for her for the last several seasons.
There are way better overstable approach discs than the Zone including but not limited to Envey, Pig, some P2 runs, and Wizard. So I agree 100% that the Pig is better than the Zone.
Personally, the biggest reason all other existing discs are better than the zone is that they all fly farther than the zone; I can literally throw a brick farther than the zone.
(RHBH) I just picked up a zone os and god damn you gotta put that bitch on damn near a 60 degree anhyzer for it to fly decent . ... i love my big z luna better than a zone / zos
1 reason why you should never buy one. If you like them then you have to buy one every couple of months. The plastic feels great but beats in so fast. If innova made it in a better plastic, I would get one
Blink twice if Robbie C is behind the camera holding you guys hostage to make this video 🤣
Reed was so nervous his mic was dangling and he had no idea. He's clearly being held against his will. 🤣
🤐

Soon™
Can confirm Innova hates happiness
Robbie C has a new favorite video

PIG IS TRUTH PIG IS LIFE!!!!!!

I like both discs, and occasionally have both in the bag. R-Pro Pig and ESP FLX for the Zone.
I’m a forehand dominant thrower . The Zone felt slick and had too shallow of a rim . The Innova Rhyno had too deep of a rim . The Pig is perfect !!
You should really try the gateway war spear. It's exactly like a pig but in rubber blend plastic. It's amazing
Yes! Another Warspear fan. My favorite disc. Why is it not popular? If Ricky or Paul threw the Warspear it would be the most popular disc.
Roll aways and hand feel, that's why I took the zone out of my bag. I love the R pro pig for both of those reasons.
I bag 2 Z-flx Zones and a Jawbreaker. I like the Pig too but been a few years since I tried one.
💯 agreed. The zone has one shot. With the pig its so flexible and accurate. Love it as my approach shot. I bag the glow pro pig
Ya'll are high. 😂

My wife and I were just having this debate over beers the other night, because she shocked me when she said she is going to take the Pig out of her bag, after it being a mainstay for her for the last several seasons.
Armadillo is my favorite personally. Feels like a bucket lid with little fade and little glide.
There are way better overstable approach discs than the Zone including but not limited to Envey, Pig, some P2 runs, and Wizard. So I agree 100% that the Pig is better than the Zone.
I'm more of a Pig fan, but this feels like you lost a bet, lol.
Pig is in my top 3 for sure. It's like a stronger Putter.
I don’t bag either. Not a big zone fan, and didn’t love that the pig only comes in 1 plastic. SLAMMER GANG ALL DAY!!!
I use to be a Zone fan, didn’t like the pig, but the Discmania Drop just killed the overstable approach game
Did you guys lose a bet to Robbie C?
Pig is far superior! First two aces ever with pigs. Grip, thumbtrac, beats in phenomenally. Best disc ever
Robbie had to sponsor this video😅
Have been told the rhino is similar to the pig love my old run rhino
The Sure grip or even the NXT Warspear from Gateway is better than the pig and zone put together.
Do "top 5 reasons why the berg is better than the armadillo"
Nah y'all are crazy! the answer is the Clash Discs Mint for best approach discs.
The jawbreaker zone does everything the r-pro pig does at the same price point
Let's do a PIG vs ZONE game Jadon!
You know my PIGS will eat those ZONES up on any course! Or is it the archer not the arrow??
@@coryjarman7055 ur gonna lose and it's he because you have a fake pig in ur bag. Ringer top zone doesn't count as a pig and you know it
Funnest shot in the game is a turnover pig!
I’m a pig farmer

If that is true that’s quite concerning…
@@Broyoustolemybeans Don't worry, I use a spotter when I throw a brick.
@@pascalblais8301 well, as someone who uses the Zone more than any other disc, I can confirm that it is a great disc.
How about neither. Me personally I like the toro.
The tempo is a way better zone than the zone or the pig
(RHBH) I just picked up a zone os and god damn you gotta put that bitch on damn near a 60 degree anhyzer for it to fly decent . ... i love my big z luna better than a zone / zos
And the sixth reason, because Innova is simply better than Discraft.
Discmania Drop has entered the competition :)
1 reason why you should never buy one. If you like them then you have to buy one every couple of months. The plastic feels great but beats in so fast. If innova made it in a better plastic, I would get one
Whose gonna tell them the A2 is better than both
Toro toro toro, and a Pig.
Zone>pig
How much did Robbie C pay you?
He's got a new baby coming. Man's gotta save up for diapers, not spend it on pig propaganda, haha.
You mispronounced the Discmania Drop.
