    I have had a wonderful coach since February 2019. I am 83 years old. When I started I had a good voice and my chest vocal range was C2 to D4. I now have a wonderful voice. My chest range is now B flat 1 (maybe A1) to at least G5. Thanks to my coach I have been told my Old Man River is better than Robeson. I just sang Impossible dream taking the ending up to C5. The audience burst into spontaneous applause. Anna's coaching did this to me

    I had several years of voice training as a young woman, college music major, but as I ve "gotten older" my voice has changed, and some other discouragements from mean people, and just about given up hope of singing much anymore. Not even when I am alone. Very sad. But now I'm getting back into just enjoying singing again thanks to watching your videos and practicing again.

    I'm doing 10-15 min of warm ups every day, before moving on to my targeted ones. Not every day is "better" than the day before but I'm definitely noticing an overall improvement. Thank you so much!

    Excellent. Thank you. It seems that every time I have a question, you put out a video on it within a week or two (well, not every time but it's happened around 3 times now 😀). However, here's something I find odd. I've just listened to the jaw tension exercises and notice the 5 singing vowels are: zee, zay, zar, zoh and zoo. Just wondering what happened to the zii. The majority of online singing teachers I come across don't seem to give exercises for the 'i' sound as in 'ink, 'high',' 'I' and 'if' 🤔. Best wishes from the UK.

    • @Victoria-Victorious
      @Victoria-Victorious  2 года назад +1

      Sure, the vowels I include in most exercises are the 5 standard English singing vowels. There are many more. IH (like "ink") is related to EE but has a lower tongue. It's in between EE and EH. "High" is a diphthong (AH & EE on 1 syllable).

    • @marisademore468
      @marisademore468 2 года назад

      @@Victoria-Victorious Ah, I see. Practicing certain dipthongs will develop the 'I' sound. Thank you 👍🙂

    Teacher, I figured out how to set up and land that high note in Kenny Rankin's 'Groovin' rendition song. 😄 (The lyric word 'groove' in the finale).
    I figured it out because I remembered everything you explain in your beginner singing series.
    I realized I had to stay low in the bottom of the timbre all throughout the song, then approach the start of the note and bellow it even lower in the vessel of the timbre. I have to expand my upper chest and leave it expanded and "hollow" without deflating contracting my upper chest for it to bellow nicely. It's sound has an "understated", "subdued" though still explosive yodeling outcome.
    I realized that single finale lyric word has ten distinct "segments" to it.
    It has three notes in it's initial breakout. In that word 'groove' the "g" is a note, then "ro" is a different note, and then the ensuing high note breakout "-ooooooove" is a different note.
    The following "meandering" has the remaining seven fadeaway segments.

    First View!! I love it actually i have one doubt i do one exercise as a warmup which is of la ascending and descending on 5 notes so is it good to do it?

    • @Victoria-Victorious
      @Victoria-Victorious  2 года назад +2

      I prefer my formula - descending first, then ascending, then sustained. Also, if you have a tight tongue, LA is probably not the best exercise to start with.

    Hi Victoria, what excerise would you suggest for past laryngitis? Also how do I figure out my exact singing style (soprano etc.) As I'd like to check out your yearly course x

    • @Victoria-Victorious
      @Victoria-Victorious  2 года назад +1

      Hello, NC! You should definitely not sing if you are still hoarse. I recommend watching my video that discusses singing or not if sick and includes 4 exercises that you can do to ease you back into singing after illness. Singing While Sick? YES, NO, OR WHAT TO DO? ruclips.net/video/avvz2v6sO1w/видео.html In answer to your question about my audio program, each program covers 2 1/2 octaves in range. If singers are not sure of their voice type, I recommend ordering alto/mezzo-soprano for women and bass/baritone for men, especially for beginners. That is for lower to medium voice types, so unless you consider your voice to be high, this should work. If not, you have 30 days to switch to the higher voice category.

    Hi Victoria, I decided that I wanted to “learn” to sing well learn my voice after being so insecure about how raspy it is for so long. Is your program broke down in an easy to learn and follow format?

    • @Victoria-Victorious

      Yes, it is very straightforward and easy to follow. I have an intro video that explains how to use the program and I also have a Beginner's Section. 🙂

    so do i really need to get a vocal coach

    • @Victoria-Victorious
      @Victoria-Victorious  2 года назад +5

      It depends on your goals. Having a private coach, whether weekly or less frequently, can help ensure that you are practicing correctly. If you want to progress more quickly and certainly if you want to go pro, I always recommend having a private voice teacher.

    I find that when I sing I tend to swallow my spit a lot does that affect my vocal performance if I’m constantly swallowing?

    • @Victoria-Victorious
      @Victoria-Victorious  2 года назад

      I have not heard of this before, but yes, it probably does affect your singing. Try to find out why you need to swallow so much when you sing. Maybe it's nervousness? Try speaking your song in rhythm and see if it happens then. If not, then start bridging your speaking to singing line by line and hopefully you can build new habits.
