I love this guy’s tone. You can just feel him looking down his nose at you, looking you up and down, folding his arms and shaking his head at your penniless loafers
The funny thing about old money is that if you don't have it, you never will.
All old money started off as new money, nouveau riche. Even Andrew Carnegie was an upstart until 3 generations had passed. And Joseph Kennedy was not recognized as he was new money and Irish.
I hate how my usual style has become a trend called old money, that's what I don't like.
its just marketing 😒 Some "geniuses" find this new term to sell Zara and H&M 😒
Such a misused conception too
@@paulmcgee1867 agreed
@@litvinovserge I agree with you as well.
@@litvinovsergethat's bs, 😂...it was dubbed long before these Brands existed
Understated accessories… Shows one of the blingiest watches in existence. Old money would go for Blancpain or Breguet on a leather strap
Rolex day date without diamonds, or Daytona. Patek, Piaget, JLC Reverso, Omega Speedmaster Professional, Cartier Tank. No diamonds or bling. Stay away from anything seen on a rapper or NBA player.
I have just a plain Baume Mercier on a leather strap for going to special occasions ( anniversary, ect ) otherwise it's a Casio g shock solar for everyday .
The way he said 'Old Money Men' made me feel i broke all the rules he was talking about
I don’t think Style OG would recommend untucked button downs at formal events, either. That untucked shirt may have been for a casual date night.
In the upper Midwest you don't need very much "Old money", or "New money" for that matter, to stand out from the crowd. Just don't wear hoodies, shirtjacs, cargo shorts, new balance tennis shoes, (that you had on mowing the lawn) wrap around sunglasses, and a hoodie over your other hoodie.
Guaranteed, you'll be the best dressed guy in any room! 😉
Yes!! Sitting in the airport in the upper Midwest. Spot on.
I don't have old money but I do like proper dress and have a tailor. I don't have brands on my shirts unless I'm chopping wood in the backyard . For almost a decade I wore cheap fashion, but I bought it on vacation in states that had economic issues. The trip paid for itself.
Now, I have more classic, timeless wear of great quality that fits better, looks better and that can be repaired. Always compliments even on the basic gear. Peacoat, shirt, jeans without brands, that fit. A few matching belts, nice socks that compliment the ensemble and you look better than people in an Ill fitting tuxedo.
Nice to see that LEVITY is with our tailoring approach on the right way. 🙂
Wear what you like. Who gives a fk anyway. If you are after some puss do the clown thing
Simply say , classic.....
I really miss my baggy shorts made from my Army camo trousers. Comfortably baggy AND cargo pockets!
There is just one single rule : just do not follow any hype that is presently en vogue , instead
take take a close look at prince, now King Charles of Great Britain, avt present the coolest and most flawless dresser on the globe.Period.
Wearing shoes without socks in town is VILE. Only on the beach are socks not worn.
They are mostly wearing no show socks
100% agree. There can some serious foot odor wearing leather-lined shoes sans socks.
I have always worn my bass loafers without socks. But I have pennies in them! Topsiders are always worn without socks.
Great content. Thank you for sharing. I’m a new subscriber and will pass on your channel information.
I'm pretty much "old money" with my fashion choices. Other than logo T-shirts and a preference for cargo shorts, they're singing my tune
Kiton, Brioni, Zegna. Emulate these houses at your personal income level and you will never be out of style. If you have to, save and buy one new timeless piece per season and layer your purchases from prior season. Stay away from trends. Nothing shouts sophisticated more than well fitting garments, solid colours, and well maintained polished shoes with heels that are not worn down. You do t have to be rich to look rich.

"Old Money Men" would never make an influencer video to educate the normies
I simply shop for timeless clothing at goodwill and Salvation Army stores in Old Money neighborhoods!
Hence someday I’ll be old money man’
😁
Smart choice! Building a timeless wardrobe from thrift stores in Old Money areas is a great move. Keep it up!
cultured men go to a tailor regardless of new or old money. boys buy suits from the shelf, men go to tailor
Hi dress hope you remember be I am an og subscriber.
P. S. Love this video❤
Manners speak more than money.
A lot of us ladies are mostly attracted to elegant gentleman who dress well and speak eloquently, are empathetic, kind, intelligent and chivalrous.
I'm an elegant lady ny the way, it's hard for me to find a high quality man nowadays.
💚
I am sorry but those men are now an endangered species. Largely they are extinct in the wild.
Old money is avoiding the trendy and flashy. Classic Brooks Brothers. Clean, classic lines. No skinny jeans and skinny suits. Comfortable, relaxed and have alterations fit a suit properly. An off the rack suit looks like a million bucks if you spend to have it alterations just right. Pant legs perfectly hemmed, 1 break over the top of your foot.
Nonflashy rapper style watches. No bling. Just a high wuakity understated wrist watch. Rolex day date. Dressy Piaget or Patek. Classsic Cartier tank. JLC Reverso are perfect.
i'm not a fan of white sneaks with suits,,,,sneaks are for athletic activites.
Correct!!!! It is absolutely essential to know what NOT to do as much as was is Exemplary....
Just a small note; Leggings should also be considered Taboo as Lycra and other stetchy additives fibers have permiated the industry
(unless, of corse, you're also Hiding behind a plethora of Tattoos as your own, individual garish Logo!
Highwater trou with no socks is a douchebag look regardless of how much money you have.
Yes! Thank you
❤️
But whats the point of new money imitating old money?
To attract old money women
“Old money men” Would never wear skin tight pants that look almost like a leotard, especially if they have a waist size bigger than 34 inches. It’s what one might call the “apple on a stick” or ice cream cone effect
The overly short jackets for taller men is a no go. Being very tall and a bit overweight, I could not pull off these short jackets or the highwater tight-fitting pants.
What about cuffed hems? I see a couple of men wearing them here...
You have a picture in your video of Daniel Craig clothed wearing a belt and suspenders! I hope this was on your how "not to dress" guide. I can't believe how many guys do this. You wear either a belt or suspenders. YOU DON'T WEAR BOTH AT THE SAME TIME.
Relax Mr. Judgemental, that was Craig depicted as a personage in a movie. He couldn't influence the character/ clothes he had to play
@@DonGivani Of course he could you clown! Uou are dead wrong there. Do you really think major Hollywood superstars have no influence on how the characters they portray are dressed? But in this case, the majority of the fault lies with the costume designer.
@@pavelmartinov4478 the word is "asinine".
Why Im watching this? I dont have old money. I dont have any money, actually.
Yeah, when I do get money, I won't have long enough for it to get old. Also, Mr. Narrarator, please note when I spelled out old I only used one of. It's not pronounced ooold.
It's gross to wear shoes without socks
elegant men.
Not everything that said here is something that I can agree!
I don't think a stylish man should wear short pants. They are childish and and not necessarily cooler than than full length.
That's not my style, I'm conservative with my dress clothes, reckless with my casual clothes and everything is Ralph Lauren
Ohh Ralph… that’s embarrassing you wear your sweater around your neck too???
@@jonnyfendi2003 No, but I do generally follow the rules of the Preppy Handbook, but with a hip-hop bend to it like most Lo Heads
I dont exactly like where modern RL is going, but if I can get my hands on Ralph Lauren at a decent price I freaking will. Their products are so good, after years of use they go from very nice things to wear and transition to nice gym and dojo wear for me. Best clothing company imho.
@@jileel Ralph's clothes last forever, I have a red jacket I call my "Rebel Without A Cause" jacket that's literally 30 years old, but you'd never know by looking at it. Collecting it is like a game, the key to win is only paying what you would for anything else. You do that through sales, shopping off season and multiple locations at once, but for me shopping online is cheating. It's a fun game.
i'm soooo with you on torn jeans,,,,that was so 2022. stop it !!!!!
When you wear clothing with a logo plastered on it, you become a walking billboard for that company. So that company is getting free advertising from you.
I say old boy, real “old money” wears the same baggy thread worn cords, old shirt and jumper around the estate, they don’t waste money on expensive clothes, may have one old bespoke suit somewhere in the wardrobe for a special occasion.
Is this who i think it is?! 👀
Think Bond, James Bond. 😉
NO skinny jeans or trousers. Just stop it.
Elegant men wouldn't be caught dead in half of the gauche clown suits this guy promotes.
Interesting. This guy hasn't been to Europe recently to behold how old money really clothe themselves.
This whole “old money” thing is just silly. “old money” to those who are cursed/blessed with it…….call it “private money”.
People with actually old money probably don't dress anything like the whole old money trend. Sure the style is cool and all but its just a style.
4:38 Is Kanye wearing a Confederate flag jacket? Why would a black men ever do that?
Because he is an idiot
Count how many times he says sophistication.
Actually, a stylish man would know that you can make your suede shoes waterproof.
absolutely, waterproofing suede is a smart move for style and practicality
Old money don't wear baggy or skinny clothes. Its the new rich that wear skinny wear and promote the same on social media.😢
indeed, the old-money style tends to favor timeless, tailored fits over trendy extremes.
It's all about understated elegance
Old money men wear whatever the f they want. Logos, baggy, tight off the rack or goodwill.
I grew up poor and have since done well for myself. Why would I try to look like someone who has daddy’s money? Being “old money” is not something someone should be proud of.
Sounds like you are more the “new money” type. Per stereotype, you probably go for loud, garish, displays of vanity. Lots of prominent labels like Gucci. Mirror sunglasses, fur coats and snakeskin boots. The new money wife is even more loud and garish, with lots of cosmetic surgery thrown in, and is rude with all service people.
@@scrambaba All of your assumptions are wrong. I don’t own any clothes with visible logos. I just wear well constructed high quality fabrics. Stereotyping someone based on their early life socioeconomic status is superficial and lame.
@@OM-el6oy yes my comment was more than a little tongue in cheek. If old money is classy, then new money must be the opposite. But clearly it is such a gross and not even attractive oversimplification of reality.
The rule is to dress properly..
Um no sneakers outside the gym.. never in casual scenes.
I agree with most except I hate boring socks. You can keep that men in black look. Boring. 8:02 8:04
while traditional old-money style may lean towards understated elegance, adding a touch of flair with unique socks can be a modern twist that still maintains a sense of sophistication
Nothing interesting 😒 If U are poor U can`t pretend to be rich. And if U are rich - everybody can easily notice it without any dress code.
I thought this was satire... Doesn't seem very classy to try and emulate how the wealthy dress, much less publicly vocalize one's intentions.
A gentleman's watch is thin and made of gold a gentleman does not wear dive watches or astronaut watches
A watch with a leather strap, which is not waterproof, will be ruined even on a gentleman's wrist while practicing water sports. But we agree, a stylish man does not choose a watch with a metal strap for a suit.
John T. Molloy gave that rule back in the 70s in his book Dress for Success. However, times change and rules are meant to be broken. We dont wear tails, cumerbunds, or spats either. Rolex Subs and GMTs are so classic they look great when worn in a suit. Plain black bezel on steel looks better than 2 tone GMTs with suits. Bulky, thick Seiko dive watches are not appropriate for dressier wear. Omega Speedmaster Pro has been around for 65 years and have remained understated and elegant. They look fine in a suit. Not so with Fortis or one of those Citizens with 5 dials, 3 bezels, and 25 functions. casio G shocks are completely out of the question.
time and place I wear a dive watch that I've had over 30 yrs because I used it in the military. it's not a dress watch but a sports watch..time and place
I hope this trend dies soon, im so tired of it, its boring and basically a costume, u cant be old money if u dont come from it.. wearing stupid polo and lacoste clothes mean nothing.
There is always time and place for all styles of dressing. The name "Old Money" is weird. It is the classic European and New England dress style which has nothing to do with wealth, old or new. I think people simply want to wear styles that express freedom of choice. Some styles lack vibrancy, expression, life and can be boring
So this guy thinks old money wears custom made suits and shirts, Patek and AP watches and Sperry Topsiders…well some do, but the lines are constantly being crossed as new money from 50 years ago is becoming old money today and the kids from more established families try to emulate popular culture today.
I must of been ild men in a past life i hate logos
wow a channel claiming to know elegance shows tattooed models. I think I will skip this channel
This video should be called “douchebag collage”
