Rivoli for Massena, Castiglione for Augereau and Mantua for Serurier. Without Napoleon, these 3 won't acheive what they achieved in 1795, but without those 3 Napoleon would not win the entire campaign.
Wow all the crisis were averted in the nick of time. The coolness and bravery when faced with imminent defeat were incredible. Thanks for another great video. The maps and animations are getting better and better.
Rivoli is one the most exciting battles I’ve ever heard of. What a rollercoaster!! Thank you for bringing this battle to life for me (and everyone else).
OH, NO! The music in background is too loud! Can you plz take it in consideration for next time, thanks! Otherwise, love it, I enjoy this series a lot! Thanks you so much!
Demi brigades are not half brigades , they're units based on battalions , 1 regular battalion , 2 volunteer/ malitia battalions , calling them half brigades is not accurate.
This is a very weird battle; Napoleon (and Joubert) won one of his greatest victories ever, but the way he did it looks like the opposite of brilliance. A general, putting his army in a position as that of Napoleon's at 13:20, strikes me as incompetence. Unless Napoleon wanted the Austrian to march into his rear and flanks? Otherwise, what the fuck was he thinking?
Agreed, Napoleon knew everything was predicated on the arrival of timely reinforcements. He realized Austrian forces encumbered themselves trying to coordinate a joint attack of 6 columns, over such a vast expanse of land. Additionally, the geography was in favor of Napoleon's position in that it was easier to amass and concentrate forces in the south--whereas the Austrians had to resort to 2 small roads that fed in from the North. He personally scouted enemy positions the night prior, calculating enemy strengths by their campfires. He knew what he was doing.@@thewolfofswingthat2035

Rivoli and the following mopping up of the Austrian army was brilliant.

He knows. He just have no choice. He didn't have enough men. The idea is to defeat the center before the flanks arrive.

He won. He knew he had superior troops. Fixing the enemy, was the solution to break him.
