    2 os are in separate drive. I hope windows update and sometimes windows crash (BSOD) won't cause problem to linux and the bootloader (GRUB) 😢

    Genius! It didnt worked for me at the beginning, just had to sudo nano the "/etc/default/grub" and uncomment the os_prober=false and that was it.

    It didn't work for me. After rebooting I went directly to windows 11 and got no grub menu. And I can't find the ssd in the bios to set as the main boot drive. Any help? Thanks

    I followed your steps and installed Arch, but now I cannot access my BIOS settings. Whenever I try to press F2 to enter the BIOS and change the drive boot order, it just shows me a black screen. Can anybody help me?

    Thank you for the video, I have a question. If the external device with Arch is not connected, Windows starts normally?

    • @KMDTech
      @KMDTech  5 месяцев назад +1

      Most likely as it will select the next option if it can't find the external device, but you can confirm by checking the UEFI boot order in your BIOS.

    Does this method only work if the drive is completely unallocated? Or can I install Arch Linux just on an unallocated partition of that drive and use the rest? I intend to use only 100GB to install Arch Linux, and use the rest to store files through Windows.

    • @KMDTech
      @KMDTech  6 месяцев назад +1

      This video only shows if the separate drive is completely unallocated. But, if you have some unallocated space on the separate drive you can install Arch Linux separately in this space you just have to be careful. In the Disk configuration you'll have to manually create the necessary partitions ( ex. /boot, / ) using 'Create a new partition' so it will not impact your existing partitions compared to in the video where I used 'Suggest partition layout' which will overwrite any existing partitions.

      This guide is for installing Arch on a separate physical drive so not on the same physical drive.

    NOT RELETED TO TOPIC, just my experience
    ..
    i am new to linux. my 1st installation failed😂, messed with system. i dont give a shit if i broke my win11 or arch linux because it can be reinstalled again
    anyway i love to make the headache by using linux terminal instead of GUI when i was using iwd for wireless connection.😊
