I remember the 80s....a very special time, I would love to go back. If I'm having a particularly "festive" time, I can close my eyes and actually remember how the 80s *felt*
I was a kid..what a great decade to grow up in You could play all day on.the front and your mum didnt even need to check on you. I wouldn't let my son out my sight the way life is now. The music and fashion was fab 😍😍
It wasn't safer then we just thought it was growing up as most people were more relaxed, you may not remember charley says and stranger danger. There was also a lot of cars on the road even back then.
Just remembering the very first time I saw the thriller vid, I was 16, I was blown away....boy did I want that jacket, and everyone in school the next day was moon walking into assembly! 😀
It´s just too bad that the same time machine will not make you younger on your journey there, though. And to be honest, I would not like to be 54 in the 1980s; imagine being expected to wear an ugly old lady perm and people giving you weird looks whenever you go to the gym.
Proud to have been a part of the 80s, no decade will ever come close to being the best ever in every way, shape or form, fashion, music, culture or anything else. Simply the best time to be alive in the UK
Everybody who ever lived thinks the era you were young in was best. Remember our parents and grandparents saying how awful the 80s were compared to their time? It's being young that magical, not the era we were young in. If we're honest, a lot of the 80s (like other eras) was bloody awful.
@@zeddeka No, the 80's seemed way more fun than the era I grew up in (2000s~2010's) and I'm willing to bet much of the younger generation feels the same, that's why nostalgia/vintage everything is so big right now among younger people. The quality of life was better by just about every metric (at least in the US, probably the UK too). Just go to any popular 80's music video and see how many teens are talking about how they were born in the wrong generation, it's literally a meme at this point. It's gone a bit beyond just thinking whatever era you were young in was the "best".
2:06 in the striped tie and glasses that looks like bond broker roger makhlouf! wow. i did business with him in the 90s and into the 21st century in US treasury bonds. nice bloke. roger confirms that it is him.. he was at the corney and barrow around the back of the bank of england he told me
The brits sold the best cranes and tunnel boring machines back then bringing in billions and for some reason they sold it all off, today south Korea and Germany make those industrial machines, yes the 80s when for some reason the Brits sold off all there best assets that employed men, just weird
The 80's were in the main really good times, living near London and going there, I worked for a while near the World's end shop in the King's Road which Adam's wife managed I was told.
If you think the 1980s were wild, you should take a look at the 1960s, the closest the world's ever been to nuclear war via the Cuban missile crisis, major political assassinations such as John F Kennedy or Martin Luther King and then there were people fighting to end segregation, people being arrested for protesting, beaten, or even unlawfully shot. Oh and the Vietnam war and the moon landings and tension between the USA and Russia were at an all time high because of the space race
I wish i had been born 10 years earlier than i was. I was born in 1985 and eas too young to enjoy the 80's and it looked like a hella good time. The 90's was great too though.
I was in high school in 81 and watched the first few hours of MTV. Until they quit playing videos. But my friends and I never liked the flasy polished videos. Always went for the obscure I guess. I remember videos that only played a few times like Total Corlo, I eat cannibal.
The 80's was a good and or bad decade depending who you were. It was also a period of mass unemployment, dreadful hair and clothes and the era of Laura Ashely who were then very popular.
I was lucky to have a great time in the 80s. Still my favorite decade because I was young, had just enough money, and the cost of living hadn't yet gotten totally out of hand. We could afford to go out. Go to concerns and restaurants. Nowadays, everything is so expensive that we need to concentrate on paying rent and bills with little left after that.
Thanks for posting this here! It's good to see recognition of the unique role Adam played in the musical world of the 80s!

@ali1961ist The dodgy fashion choices and bad hairstyles were some of the best parts of the 80’s. Most definitely the best of times!!!!

Music was great, the last great decade for pop. Thatcher sold too much off though. Not everyone became rich in that decade.
Real pop/rock groups, music that had originality - yes men wearing makeup as much as women, flamboyancy and Adam ant-proud to grow up in the 80’s
Nostalgia isn't what it used to be.
Have you got the rest by any chance?
