I was excited to see this video on RUclips. My grandma is from Eğirdir, I showed her this video and she became sentimental. Thank you for making my grandma happy :) Lots of love and thank you, this video is a hidden gem about Turkey !
That’s so nice to hear! We’re glad your grandma enjoyed the video. We loved Egirdir and can’t wait to go back one day. Some of our best memories from Turkey happened there. All the best ☺️
Lake Egirdir has so much cool stuff to do in and around it! Yes, Sagalassos is a special ruins. That running water in the water fountain was really interesting. Thanks for tuning in! 📺
Lake Egirdir is Turkey’s best-kept secret... It’s a beautiful destination and the perfect base to explore other nature, lakes and ruins from! We highlight 6 of our top activities in this video. If you are going to Lake Egirdir an have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. Drop your question in the comments below! Follow our journey across Turkey here: instagram.com/worldwildhearts/
You can park your car in Akpinar, which is a tiny village. We parked here: Akpınar Köyü Cami, 32500 Akpınar/Eğirdir/Isparta. Copy-paste that into google maps and you’ll find it! The hike itself doesn’t have many markers but the landscape is pretty open so you can just carve your path here and there!
Looks like a very beautiful and relaxing place to visit. Love the colors of the lakes. Drone question for you. Do you have to register or do any type of paperwork to use your drone in all these countries or are they pretty liberal with allowing them? -Chris & Suzannah
Lake Egirdir is a must-see in Turkey! We loved it there. For Drone registration / rules, it’s different for every country. But we follow this website for the most up-to-date rules and follow them prior to anywhere we travel: uavcoach.com/
Hello ! We are going in Turkey soon and we want to make a stop in Egirdir. The hike to Mt Sivri looks amazing ! Is it 3.5 hours one way to the top or for the entire round trip (back to akpinar) ? Thanks a lot :)
Hi! That’s awesome. Such a hidden gem that many people skip. The hike is incredible and we didn’t see anyone else along the trail. It was 3.5 hours total for us so it took about 2 hours up and 1.5 down. The trail can be tricky sometimes but just keep going towards the peak and you’ll be fine!
Hi Zac, please advise if it is advisable to drive or if it is difficult to drive from Antalya to Lake egirdir & then onwards to Pamukkale, final stop at Kudasasi. Thank you.
Hey guys, you can't really make it about Lake Egirdir when half the places are hours drive away! Saglossos is much more relevant to Isparta or Burdur. Heck, Antalya is just as close as Egirdir is to it! Lol. Same can be said for Salda Golu. Proximity has zero relation to Egirdir haha. I would say 3.5/6 points are valid for this video. Nice area though, for sure.
@@worldwildhearts Actually, the interior of the church is empty. There is no activity to be done in the church, and it is closed to worship. I wanted to ask you out of curiosity because you were passing very close to the church in the video :) Shall I tell you a little secret? The mosques you see in Eğirdir were once churches and were converted into mosques over time. If you look very carefully, you can still see traces of the church :) But the people living there do not know this.

Can you please give more information about the hike to Mt. Sivri? where do you park the car and how to find the trail from the parking lot? Thank you

It’s possible! We also had a car rental. Roads are very good in Turkey!
We are planning a trip to turkey this November. Can you share how did you travel to this place? Did you drive?
Yea we did have a rental car. That’s the easiest way to get here. Also, the lake is huge so to get to the hikes etc you’ll need a vehicle
@@worldwildheartsthanks ❤

There is a historical church in Yeşilada. Why didn't you go there?
We heard about it! Couldn’t fit it in with our other activities during our stay. Definitely another good thing to do in the area though 👍

Oh wow we didn’t know that! Thanks for the info. We heard many orthodox Greeks were living in the area before so it definitely makes sense!
