I was lucky enough to experience this during a New Year's pilgrimage to Tokyo. Seeing the setting sun over Mt. Fuji, silhouetted in pink, after a long day of climbing over the hills of the island (and accidentally soaking myself by the shore trying to snap photos) was truly unforgettable. I will DEFINITELY have to return some day!
John your live streams are the best. I follow bunch of other Japanese vblogers but when I see your notification that you are Live, I drop everything I am doing and start watching your Live streams. Really appreciate what you are doing for people like us who can't make it there but our dreams are fulfilled by you.
i'm sitting here freezing.... and so jealous right now... You have that view... I look outside and it is dark... cold... with snow out there... so jealous....
Im so happy i got to travel to japan for a year. Such a beautiful place with beautiful people. Thank you Marine Corp for stationing me there. @. you should do a video of climbing Mount Fuji? I went up Twice. Once at night, so i can see the sun rise. And the second during the day. it was beautiful.
I was here around 3 weeks ago. After a hike around the island, it was perfect for a relaxing soak/swim. Fuji was there, but hard to see on the day. Also my first onsen experience! 10/10
This place looks like a lot of fun, and a nice way to potentially see Fuji. I was initially interested in Hakone for our future first trip to Japan but paying for an expensive ryokan with a view, when Fuji might be obscured that day, seems risky. This seems like a nice, affordable way to get a shot at seeing it while still having a good time even if it's a cloudy day. Ruth was great! I hope she's still there :)
Ooh this is cool. I've been planning to stay in/near Kamakura for a couple nights on my upcoming trip (mainly because I want to try the nama-shirasu) and was definitely planning on visiting Enoshima. Here's something else to do. 3000 yen is pretty reasonable, too (considering what onsen usually cost..). Will probably have to come after winter's over, though, since shirasu season starts around April. Why Kamakura and why shirasu? Another movie and a manga... Definitely have to have tea at Milk Hall, for one, and ride the electric railway.
how have you lived there 20 years and not gone to Enoshima ? ever taken the Enoden line ? What about Kamakura and area, the beach and the hills. so much to do in the Shonan !
So I skipped the video, when John went in the elevator with hana's mom til up to when he's already out of the elevator and he's naked, I'm like WTF! Did I miss something "important?"
Ah! Hahaha The signal died in the elevator, no 4G there >_< I think Ruth was talking about something but I didn’t have the heart to say “we’re offline” 😂 that’s all that happened.
Amanda I know!! I talked about this in a Q&A after. I think the policy will eventually change. Having body art doesn’t mean you can’t visit baths in Tokyo! 99.9% of the Sento are tattoo friendly! So - the culture is changing.
This place looks like paradise! I am going to add this to my itinerary when I come to Japan.

"Don't come back?" I would have been all "make sure you come back for a quick gander"
Ruth reminded me of Cyndi Lauper.
Quite flirty between her and John too ;-)
I just saw you on TV here in Australia, on a food program called Food paradise international!
Ah, the ghost restaurant? lol that was a loooong time ago! Glad it’s still useful for the network :)
I went to Enoshima on the 29th of December, it was a bit too cloudy to see Mt.Fuji clearly
Hi, John, love your video!
And a few minutes away is OPPA-LA one of Japan's best clubs
Yes! MORE RUTH!!! LOVE IT!

Awesome 😀
I need a weekend to relaxe there.
John! I don't know if I can handle your extremely high energy level haha. Where does it all come from?!
Very interesting video, but such a pity you use your classic smartphone to film. The images are blurred...
Ooookay check (✓) , I already wrote the name of this place..will definitely go there
May I know the cost for the onzen?
Roughly 30 USD for the whole day
it's nice to be tall, you don't have to swim in a pool
Does anyone know if they allow elementary kids in here? Thx!
Ok, John is very spoiled!
Amazing
What a beautiful place. Thanks for sharing and taking us with you. :)
I'm defs coming here!
What’s this place called?
Erica Karen enoshima
I love your videos!! Would you be willing to add me on facebook? My husband and I plan to visit Japan in 2019.
The way John gasps is probably the way he, umm, climaxes. Haha. Another awesome video.
Don't shout inside the building that's rude. 14:00
Can you go if you have tattoos?
Just read their website and they have a NO BODY ART policy. :( I was 2 clicks from booking my stay. So sad now.
Amanda I know!! I talked about this in a Q&A after. I think the policy will eventually change. Having body art doesn’t mean you can’t visit baths in Tokyo! 99.9% of the Sento are tattoo friendly! So - the culture is changing.
Ruth is so Cute....
She is!
