My current k2 1k has 38k miles, runs perfect, except for the idle dropped today about an hour into stop n go traffic, but it was a blip n then back to smooth. My first 02, 1k had 104,xxx miles on it. Ran just as good🤷♂️
I have an 05 GSXR 1000 and it still mops up most of all the new sport bikes I go against.. just broke over 30,000 miles on it and I'm going to have a hell of a time getting rid of it because I love it.. facebook.com/marketplace/item/1223222144775789/
still riding my k1 1000 every day , bought it new back in the day , got 119326 kms on the clock. common problems are injectors failing , other than that clutch can grip and rumble but sweet bike to ride. with good maintenance , kms dont matter
2000 to 2003 with 30 to 40 thousand miles really is not bad specially for the years , 2021 to 2023 that’s basically a 20 year old bike that’s not bad at all , specially if garbage kept that means it wasn’t road to crazy an bike Miles an car Miles are different, you can have 40 to 50 thousand on a bike an it still runs great , now if it was a 2015 an up with 40 thousand miles then that’s terrible
nah dude with care 45,000 miles isnt sh!t on that bike, i put nearly 50K on my 01 gsxr 1K and i never had a single issue with it. I have 40K on my hayabusa and it runs/rides perfect too.
@@jimritzheimer7465 it does have new plugs and the coil is good. The idle is perfect. The same as from the factory. The lifters are also set perfect. The proof is in the performance!
💯🙌🏽. Nice 👀bike....what kind of price are they selling for in that year......I’m thinking bout jumping on one myself....I like the older models. Zx11 would really be my first choice💯🙌🏽
Sorry it posted before I finished but what’s the most miles I should get used. I’m buying used because I’m gonna put a kit on and I’m not spending no 20 to what ever 1000’s of dollars
@@Therealdevinclark @jim ritzheimer I finally agreed to sell the bike. I have had it so long it was hard to let go and would be hard to replace. The best mechanics worked on the bike. Every detail was fixed to keep it like new. I am also kicking in an HJC leather jacket, 2 Arai helmets, rear seat pack, and anything else I can find laying around. It is an excellent deal, but selling it is not all about the money. Personally, I needed to let the idea sink in. Most importantly, it needs to go to an experienced rider. Thank you for making the awesome video!
@@Therealdevinclark of course he is. You told him it was a good bike and now he either wants more or wants to keep it because you reminded him of the good ole days 🙄🙄

I have an R1100RS -93 with 130 000 KM s, I just change battery, pluggs and transmission oil, it still runs perfect
My Busa has almost 40,000 and still pulling strong. I don’t dog my bike either which probably has a lot to do with it.
I just got a 2001 with 19,000 miles had to watch this video and see her potential
Nice bike next month in getting mine
Your in Michigan?
@devinClark
Think he's in Ohio? I'm near canton Michigan. Lol. Kinda near.
I did end up selling the bike for $2,950 to Lee in Florida.
That sounds like a STEAL at that price. I'm seeing bikes like that now fur 4 and 5000 but I doubt they are as pristine as that one looks.
what was asking price?
I don’t remember

You can have 40 to 50 thousand on a bike a it runs beautiful specially if the maintenance right or been garbage Kept
So Beautiful
The 01 thru 03s are beast. I have the 02 same color wave.
CLEAN
Patrick Jordan yessir!
Sounds like it’s not either firing on all injectors or misfire
New coils and spark plugs would most likely fix that problem
Pretty easy to do also. All you have to do is remove the gas tank and air box and the coils and spark plugs are right there

I have my 3rd k2 1k and they all sound just like, especially when cold starting. They have a choke tho, dont kno why he didnt use it at all.
