I really like supermarket simulator. Although I don't play it like my other games. I only play it when I want to completely shut off my brain. I usually listen to a podcast too.
I think instead of "AI games" these are just "poorly executed ripoffs trying to capitalize on the trend". This has actually been a problem for a long time (remember the Flappy Bird ripoffs? Geometry Dash ripoffs? Stardew Valley ripoffs?), but maybe now it looks so much worse because they somehow put the games on Steam. Supermarket Simulator might be the original one who started this trend (CMIIW, I didn't actually follow the trend). TCG Card Shop Simulator tried to follow the trend in their own way, and it actually made them interesting and different from the others. Supermarket Together is a ripoff of Supermarket Simulator (they even use the same assets), but it's actually well-executed to the point that it might even be better than the original. The devs actually care for the game, they listen to what the community says and still give weekly updates to this day. The other ones in the video are pretty much just cases of "some random guy tried to recreate a trending game in a day, said 'yeah good enough' after a few hours, release it on Steam, and call it a day". Yeah, they might use AI to do a lot of the "work", but I think the main problem is how these "game devs" just wanna get instant money by making ripoffs of trending games as quickly as possible and basically ruining the market for everyone.
It was so surprising to see TCG Shop Simulator being in one of the steam awards collum. Like, this game and any other simulator or prologue game follows the same script. They are unity or unreal flip assets throwing ideas at a wall and hoping something sticks.
Don't underestimate the power of vtubers. Many hololive vtuber talents play tcg shop for that trading card aspect and the gacha aspect (some of their talent is a gambler that could gamble using real money). For the most popular talents, gaining 50K+ ccv in one stream is very easy, even the talent from their less known branch (Indonesian branch) can garner 1K+ ccv at minimum. With that kind of performance metrics, it's easy for tcg simulator to reach the top ranks of steam list.
Anyone paying attention will notice that the positive reviews for these games are not only all similar but possibly are all bots from some farm meant to boost the game reviews.
Every time I see any of these games on Steam I just roll my eyes. If Steam was garden and there was bunch of good veggies in that garden which are games like Bad Parenting or any AA or AAA Games these games would be weed among them. I wanna see good games with eyecatching Art Style, Colors and promising plot or gameplay. Not this.
7:13 I'm glad I am not the only one who though of this lol. That quick dopamine kick you get from these games are truly infectious. Even if I hate to admit it, I'd probably be addicted to these type of games too seeing how those numbers go up when all I have to do to "progress" is by the click of a button
Its really hard to check if the coding was made by AI or someone who can not really code a game lol. I'm sure these devs can code but use AI to make it easier
This also has been happening with mobile games as well and also console gaming as well. Which sucks because that means that a small teams underrated project they put heart and soul into will just be overshadowed by AI slop
some of these use indeed ai art for their covers but the devs r working on the games on the regular, like card shop simulator and supermarket simulator. fully ai games or however u wanna interpret it, r very few and far between. i dont think its "ruining" steam, imo
There is this one other Supermarket game on Steam that is pretty respectable called "Supermarket Together". Yes, i know, it is kind of trying to capitalize off of the trend but at the very least, the devs and the community are in great relations and are getting constant care
Exactly, they have devs that care about it. I played it with a mate and he closed all but one with fences and we both said: "Damn, imagine we could have a function to close these" bam, next update we got said feature. Same as "Damn, Imagine we could put those cash registers where customers scan their stuff by themselve" and well.. added in the next update :D
There is a game, Supermarket together, that has actually someone behind it that thinks about stuff and takes requests. And he frequently update the game. There are no weird/gamebreaking bugs, and its free lol. I have 100% achievements with 90 hours
Finally someone understands how boring these are. But honestly something positive that not many people might think about is how great they are at learning language. I watched like 10 episodes of supermarket sim and with how many times people say names of groceries it sticks in your mind
I think one's better off looking for a free Roblox game with a similar concept, lol. Can't help but think of "My Restaurant" or "Restaurant Tycoon 2". There's probably a game that plays like Supermarket Simulator somewhere. Anyway, two high-effort games that I'd consider relaxing would be Vampire Survivors and Euro Truck Simulator 2.
I honestly don't get your video at all. So you've decided to show just what exactly ? Okay, you booted up the game, find out about some bug, abused the bug (the part with the "did the developer even play their own game?" part at 2:29 really caught me off guard - DUDE YOU'RE SOMEWHERE YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN.. are you actually just stupid ? Why would a developer hide a bunch of dancing dudes if you CANNOT even see them? To get the extra 0.01FPS boost or what ?) and then you proceeded to call the game bad. Presumably because it has bugs ? I hate to break it to you but every game does, not only does that not make the game automatically bad, it can make it good and fun to discover these bugs or find ways to abuse them (considering this is a singleplayer game). Essentially whether a game is good or bad is super subjective, you calling it bad is your own thing but this video is just plain stupid in my eyes too. Also the stupid point people are making about game being "addicting" yeah.. that's kind of the point of literally every single game, isn't it?
8:28 like tesla autopilot, don’t go fully autopilot. Also, just slapping content on there is like not only like asset flipping, it’s also like “.veg replace shuric scans” when making YTPMVs. Kids just change the sample of an overused .veg file and just spam it on youtube.
Supermarket Simulator Is made from Real hands. And Bugs are getting fixed better then in GTA 5 or "Real Games". i play really often Supermarket Simulator, and Supermarket Together with my Friend. It makes Really fun. Ok you cant play those for months everyday. but I like those games. The card and the others in the video i didnt tried, but i played the one i talked about, so why switching if i found what i like.
7:25 yo i know that game and its certainly not ai. its made by an Indonesian youtuber Andy Lukito, but I think they get acquired by playway which is really cool imo
I think there is about a ton of games that are basically just the same game with a small different coat of paint. they all use the exact same mechanics, they all have only 4-5 different npc being "shoppers", you are telling me all of them got the same idea at the same time? its just all copy and pasted and try to get money while doing 0 effort for it, I feel like this is the "mobile" market trying to creep in.
The TCG card shop game? I kinda like it actually, lotta fun I'm not a bot or shill btw lmao, I'm just a dude. Using mods made it better too, I got to sell Yu-Gi-Oh cards
"I'm not a bot. I'm just a dude" is exactly what a bot would say. You ain't fooling me! I'm just kidding but card shop sim was actually really fun and I almost had 2 hours in. I think playing it is fine but I just hope that small indie devs keep working on real games and don't hop on trends
What is required to be qualified as an "AI game" in this context? Completely made with AI, code written (partially) by AI or just feauture AI elements? I'm not a fan of AI generated anything when it comes to art or games, but it seems like people are just calling anything thats low effort "AI" these days. They're probably right for the most part, but I'm not sure about all of the entries on this list. As far as I know, games like Supermarket Simulator and Fast Food Simulator only use AI generated art for their steam banner, not for anything actually found in game, although they're definetely using premade assets, which is fine when they're used "right" and by small indie studios - thats what they're for. Same with TCG Card Shop Simulator as well, although I've heard (some of) the cards are made with AI, but I don't know for sure. Low effort asset flips have been around for a long time, this is nothing new. Remember when everyone made low effort battle royales or the age of shitty asset flip zombie shooters? Now we're entering the age of the asset flip Shop Simulator it seems like, according to this video. But as with battle royales or zombie shooters, there are good games among the piles of garbage. I don't have much experience with the "Shop Simulator" genre, but I can definately see the appeal. Not everyone is going to enjoy games like CS, PUBG, COD or GTA. Some people would rather play something like The SIms, Stardew Valley, Farming Simulator, Euro Truck Simulator or indeed, Supermarket Simulator.
yo, sorry for not answering your question the first time you responded, i'm working on a 2D platformer/mini horror game called gummy jump 2, it's a sequel to my first game which is a pretty big dumpster fire but still had people enjoy it, it will be at least 5X better then the first game with more features and even a boss fight, if you want, once the game is finished (releasing about mid january) i can give you a steam key for it
XD in the second game i remember ehmmm making a um maze and the customers took forever to get there but it was for sure heck of a fun to break the game :D btw the reviews mostly what dev does he puts it free or cheap then basically he pays to some website that gives u reviews on ur game for small amount of cash and those are legit accs mostly verified steam guard etc then dev puts game price higher and easy money printing steam should really step it up their moderation.
People are hating on everything AI right now, fair. But these games in particular are most certainly enjoyable, each person likes different things and I can definitely see a person spending more than 100 hrs on these games given that the types of people who play these games play for the “grind” , not deep intriguing content found in AA and other indie games. Unless you have hard proof these games are made using AI I can only see AI being used in the objects and images, which is pretty much just assets you can get for free or from unity store anyway. They still make the game with coding and other standard practices, and using AI to make the game with coding is still way ahead of our time with AI, Not that AI making games is a bad thing, it just needs to be regulated. In the end it is a simulator game so expect simulator quality and mechanics, and not compare these games with elden ring type quality 😂 Also, suggesting the reviews are botted is ignorant of the fact that you have people who legit no life any game if they like it, this game is no exception, you may not have enough time to spend on hobbies to understand but, people 100% give their time to 100 percenting their niches, whether it looks stupid on the outside or not.
So he doesn't like games that are shop simulators. For the most part they do look like asset flip games no AI games. The part going from an UE5 tutorial on this thing the way to make it into a great game even if the majority is just bought from the Epic Games Unreal Engine Asset Store is to have engaging game play and/or a great story in it. That can lead to it looking the same as so many other games but with UE5 and the current tread of realism everything basically looks the same anyways. So her advise was to focus on game play and story. Going by this video the card shop one did do a kind of game job on game play still I do agree with how it got popular. As everyone I saw play it was a just chatting streamer it is most likely a game made for that. Laid back turn off your brain repetitive game type.
Very good, mate. AI ruined a lot of things. First they were easy to spot and tell. Now they are undifferentiable at first look. I am not against AI. It makes my job easy. With AI I can write better codes at faster speeds. It is a tool after all; you can't put all the work on just one tool
Steam was ruined when greenlight was a thing. Its just new flavours pf garbage thesedays. You dont discover games by browsing the store anymore, like you don't on any other storefront thesedays. The releases worth your time have marketing behind them and you just gotta hope that you see it. Otherwise word of mouth from the brave souls that dare to descend into the putrid hell that are storefronts for video games
I hoped it was clear in the video that I like AI. But such a massiv dump on AI games/cheeply made games recently is just what happens on youtube or other platforms
the TCG Card Simulator is made by an actual developer. The card art is not made by AI. The dev is currently developing a feature where you fight other NPC and players

So as u sed to tik tok brains imma say to you, there are people who for 8 hours (with a half hour break ofc) lift heavy objects that we as society need to be lifted, while you boys play on your pc with codes? If that not motivating enough, maybe try making a better version of the same game so the lazy ai devs always have less in there games? Publicly bishing and moaning wont stop murderers, thieves and deffinetlly wont stop lazy people, so be better than them insted of making excuses like i have no motivation (like they dont)... this is almost equal to complaining about automatic cash registers, if it dose your job better and faster than you then yea we dont have a need for you lady on cash registers, but if you can be better at it then it then you will be more valuable (logics) I genuinely love your vids, u are funny and usually have great points, but im deffinetly not a tik tok brain (stil use fb, havent even swapped to insta... used snap only cs woman made me do it, never installed anything other than those 2 and i usually watch streams or 1 to 3 h videos) and i deffinetly did enjoy these tycoon games when i dont feel like i can play competitevly enough (even if i should be able to go casuals without people bishing and moaning but ok), so i gotta "hit you over the head" a bit becasue you deffinetlly forgot about a lot of consumer groups while arguing you dont have the motivation to be better (you devs whomever)...
I get your point but its not about the player, really. I love when people find a game they can have fun with, I even had fun playing the card shop simualtor. Basically what my video was saying was "Developers, don't compare yourself to others and try to make a game that full with love and passion". My point with comparing shorts and tiktoks to these games is that games like that are easy to find and give you a lot of rewards for basically doing nothing, like shorts and tiktoks.
@GamingDumpster. Same as candy crush, and it showed to be a reliving game for our moms. And as much as i think its a stupid game i will always love it for that. I understand what you're saying, but what i am saying is that the devs should be a bit more pressured instead of "cuddled", again saying its hard publicly wont do stuff, "they took ur jobs" (with south park dude voice ofc) never worked for previous generations so they need to understand that they need to put even more work in if they don't want to change there profession as an example i took cash register ladies because they can't be as quick as the machine but the machine can't be as welcoming and helpful as those ladies so they will always have there place in the stores, same applies to tycoon devs add something new thats hard to recreate with ai (i do have to add that idk how ai can generate games / codes never seen it done, will look in to it more sounds interesting), like idk shop simulator with web deliveries? Like a delivery mini game also? Adding characteristics to employees where you maybe have to advise them about their private life and or help with days off. Managing days off seems like a great add-on as well, this is just of the top of my head im not in the industry and i believe those devs can create a lot more and a lot better than me if they tighten their pants and go to work instead of sitting waiting and worrying, that's what losers do.
I dont care for ai voice overs.. What ever saves money. 💯🔥 Lesson here is. Learn to have fun. Dont care about a good story. Dont care for licensed cars Dont care about real voice actors... I want features and good gameplay and frames. Done and done. 🔥💯😎

@@GamingDumpster. Assets were used but not AI. Afaik the dev is looking into redoing the steam banner but he's one guy with a discord full of inpatient people badgering him so maybe give this solo dev some grace in that regard.
It’s going to be like these RUclips AI slop video, people making tons and tons of video game with AI that will barely sell but with the cheer quantity will make a side hustle
That is insane
We got Roblox slop ported to Steam before GTA 6
Steam: we don't allow a.i made games
Meanwhile on steam:
Its really hard to check if the coding was made by AI or someone who can not really code a game lol. I'm sure these devs can code but use AI to make it easier
Steam allow game that use AI but the dev have to specify in the store page
I saw these games and my first thought was that they have 2 hours of playtime and then you played the whole game
'self checkout register that has npc stuck immediently'
But that is completely realistic
Source: am a self checkout cashier
This also has been happening with mobile games as well and also console gaming as well.
Which sucks because that means that a small teams underrated project they put heart and soul into will just be overshadowed by AI slop
some of these use indeed ai art for their covers but the devs r working on the games on the regular, like card shop simulator and supermarket simulator. fully ai games or however u wanna interpret it, r very few and far between. i dont think its "ruining" steam, imo
I don't think that any game can fully be on AI only. If you would use AI for everything like NPC's, objects etc.. It would look horrible.
There is this one other Supermarket game on Steam that is pretty respectable called "Supermarket Together". Yes, i know, it is kind of trying to capitalize off of the trend but at the very least, the devs and the community are in great relations and are getting constant care
Exactly, they have devs that care about it.
I played it with a mate and he closed all but one with fences and we both said: "Damn, imagine we could have a function to close these"
bam, next update we got said feature.
I have 100% achievements with 90 hours
how to make a quick buck 101
A lot of these games are genuinely good concepts it’s a shame they don’t genuinely try to take it further
Finally someone understands how boring these are. But honestly something positive that not many people might think about is how great they are at learning language. I watched like 10 episodes of supermarket sim and with how many times people say names of groceries it sticks in your mind
I think supermarket simulator is cool, but eh eh
I mean if people like to play that genre those indie devs should do something within that genre that isnt buggy compared to the existing slop
Also the stupid point people are making about game being "addicting" yeah.. that's kind of the point of literally every single game, isn't it?
always wondered why there were so much of these games always popping up
Got an AI ad before this lmfao
4:07 This game here is the original and highest of quality out of the bunch. The rest are copies
isnt your pfp is AI generated?
Lol for real
Oof
lol as if that's the same. Especially since he doesn't charge Money for looking at it🙃
Every time a new set of ai games launches im like” oh, another set of graduates from some “”game institute”” in Delhi………..
Even dunkey was playing one of those ai store games. Makes me lose faith in gaming
8:28 like tesla autopilot, don’t go fully autopilot. Also, just slapping content on there is like not only like asset flipping, it’s also like “.veg replace shuric scans” when making YTPMVs. Kids just change the sample of an overused .veg file and just spam it on youtube.
First, there are shovelware games, then asset flippers just slapping content without thought in level design, and now AI factory-produced slop.
Ah yes love how it started with the original supermarket simulator and gas station simulator those were really good but now it’s just copy cats 24/7
this the type of game you see on roblox not steam
AI doing what it does best, churning out inferior slop.
Not just Steam. Nutaku is full of this slop nowadays, when before we had gems like Magicami.
same with ai art. It BURIES out the human effort out.
the AI Games are not the problem.
The TCG card shop game? I kinda like it actually, lotta fun
I'm not a bot or shill btw lmao, I'm just a dude.
"Don't hop on trends"
TCG literally jumped on Supermarket Simulators trend
Reminds me of Steam's shovelware issue from ears ago
The real problem is streamers and youtubers who give clout and recognition to those shitty games.
yo, sorry for not answering your question the first time you responded, i'm working on a 2D platformer/mini horror game called gummy jump 2, it's a sequel to my first game which is a pretty big dumpster fire but still had people enjoy it, it will be at least 5X better then the first game with more features and even a boss fight, if you want, once the game is finished (releasing about mid january) i can give you a steam key for it
Hardly a problen,we've had shit like asset flips for over a decade ,this is just another pebble in the shoe, just be careful what you buy ffs.
Nah, these are triple-A games, AI Codes, AI Musics, AI Graphics
XD in the second game i remember ehmmm making a um maze and the customers took forever to get there but it was for sure heck of a fun to break the game :D btw the reviews mostly what dev does he puts it free or cheap then basically he pays to some website that gives u reviews on ur game for small amount of cash and those are legit accs mostly verified steam guard etc then dev puts game price higher and easy money printing steam should really step it up their moderation.
Wanna bash gen AI? Start with your pfp first, dude.
They are also taking over the playstation store and I hate it
steam needs to do somwthing about this because the discover queue is just filled with shit ai and a rare interesting ones
In the end it is a simulator game so expect simulator quality and mechanics, and not compare these games with elden ring type quality 😂
Also, suggesting the reviews are botted is ignorant of the fact that you have people who legit no life any game if they like it, this game is no exception, you may not have enough time to spend on hobbies to understand but, people 100% give their time to 100 percenting their niches, whether it looks stupid on the outside or not.
Most of this AI game is like roblox simulator (which work btw)
Supermarket simulator is an asset flip
Supermarket simulator isnt AI generated?
Roblox games walked so these games could run
Drae already playedd these games lol
Very good, mate. AI ruined a lot of things. First they were easy to spot and tell. Now they are undifferentiable at first look. I am not against AI. It makes my job easy. With AI I can write better codes at faster speeds. It is a tool after all; you can't put all the work on just one tool
Exactly! Its a tool but people use it to replace themselve lol.
Not only steam vut the Nintendo eShop as well
There are some exceptions trust me
It is not a big problem, AI games are the same as AI art, they are the similar of fast food
I thought it was just cheaply made games with AI art? ugh
yall so ingnorant :DD
Steam was ruined when greenlight was a thing. Its just new flavours pf garbage thesedays.
You dont discover games by browsing the store anymore, like you don't on any other storefront thesedays.
The releases worth your time have marketing behind them and you just gotta hope that you see it.
Otherwise word of mouth from the brave souls that dare to descend into the putrid hell that are storefronts for video games
Tbh i don't care, as long as the game is fun
You just hate AI too much
Grow up dude
I hoped it was clear in the video that I like AI. But such a massiv dump on AI games/cheeply made games recently is just what happens on youtube or other platforms
the TCG Card Simulator is made by an actual developer. The card art is not made by AI. The dev is currently developing a feature where you fight other NPC and players
also ai games on ps store
I like games like this sometimes. They're perfect when you're really baked.
Well for people like me who do not take any drugs they are just trash. Hell i dont even drink lmao
YES FINALLY SOMEONE TALKING ABOUT IT
Omg i DESPISE them and i cannot believe big youtubers and streamers play it, its boring, its slop and overall its not a game, they are pretty much shovelware and i hate it even more for their use of ai
Those Supermarket games... Dude i think it's more fun to play Retail Tycoon 2 on Roblox. And that one is even Free.
love your vids but i hate milenials... my guy in same breath sed tik tok brain and we dont have motivation... here is there motivation, i work 12h shifts night and day i do welding and mehanical work i offtenly get out of the ground (idk whats it callled in eng) almost fully black, then i need to scrub all that grese of me which hurths makes my skin red and takes a long god damm time, then i come home to finally relax tiered a bit shaky and get flamed by kids who havent moved from that chair the whole day... so insted i take a nice relaxing tycoon game where i can take my own paste and realx without spoield people... do i have tik tok brain or is you not thinking about people? So as u sed to tik tok brains imma say to you, there are people who for 8 hours (with a half hour break ofc) lift heavy objects that we as society need to be lifted, while you boys play on your pc with codes? If that not motivating enough, maybe try making a better version of the same game so the lazy ai devs always have less in there games? Publicly bishing and moaning wont stop murderers, thieves and deffinetlly wont stop lazy people, so be better than them insted of making excuses like i have no motivation (like they dont)... this is almost equal to complaining about automatic cash registers, if it dose your job better and faster than you then yea we dont have a need for you lady on cash registers, but if you can be better at it then it then you will be more valuable (logics)
I genuinely love your vids, u are funny and usually have great points, but im deffinetly not a tik tok brain (stil use fb, havent even swapped to insta... used snap only cs woman made me do it, never installed anything other than those 2 and i usually watch streams or 1 to 3 h videos) and i deffinetly did enjoy these tycoon games when i dont feel like i can play competitevly enough (even if i should be able to go casuals without people bishing and moaning but ok), so i gotta "hit you over the head" a bit becasue you deffinetlly forgot about a lot of consumer groups while arguing you dont have the motivation to be better (you devs whomever)...
They are all just.. GARBAGE and copy and paste i guess
We are reaching the dead internet!
Lol
I dont care for ai voice overs..
What ever saves money.
💯🔥
Lesson here is.
Learn to have fun.
Dont care about a good story.
Dont care for licensed cars
Dont care about real voice actors...
I want features and good gameplay and frames.
Done and done.
🔥💯😎
i bet i can play these in roblox for free
all the power to AI devs. Gamers want to spend their entire lives in pseudo reality? Then we may as well have pseudo devs feeding it to them like an assembly line of wasted life
It really upset me to see Markiplier play one of these games.
honestly probably bot ai reviews..... sadly.
Sorry but I cannot watch to the end, I got like 8 unskippable ads in 2 minutes wtf
