Used this method on realms today (January 3rd, 2025). Still works. One thing in case anyone else is struggling. When you make the 5 block bridge to spawn the wither on, make sure you are not standing on the bridge when you place the last wither skull. If you are, the wither will hit you (or any blocks) and not get trapped in the bedrock.
I think mushroom growth, in pale garden update is patched. I have tried it in creative. It can't grow if there are object in a way. Problem is, idk other method to destroy the portal. I tried using other trees(please correct me. Bcs i did once for acacia, oak, jungle) . 😭😭i guess I'll have to fight boss using trident
Last time I checked it worked for me, but I can double check it ones I’m back home. Perhaps try again with the red mushroom? But double check to make sure you place it in the right place:)
@@haakonplayer77 i left the end. Bcs i tried every possibility and it just won't work. Idk why. Yes i did red mushroom, try putting it on x,y,z +1,or2 elevation higher or lower. None of it works. There's no problem with boss spawning in the gateway. It's the portal that can't be broken. I'm glad it works probably with anyone. Thank you anyway! :)

Did it the first time and it worked but now have done it twice and it does not work for me
