- I don't really play on bedrock, but decided to do the achievement rush save file after watching / pixlriffs series. Im like 90% done as of now.
The wither fight differs a lot on bedrock from the one on java edition, wither has different patterns, more attacks and the "wither" status effect lasts a lot longer which makes the battle way harder.

The fact that the protection enchantment doesn't protect against the wither effect in bedrock makes the fight so much harder
also wither effect bypasses absorption effect which makes gapples useless as well

@@dhdhensmsm3280 In the middle of trying to get an early wither kill for a beacon mainly for decor in a new survival world and trying to find easy ways since trapping isn’t possible anymore. Someone did it in Java with bees. I tested it in creative bedrock and it took 3-4x as many- but if you can handle 8,000+ bees on your system it’ll die eventually

This is why we need arrow with instant healing II.
Instant heal will do more damage against Undead.
And don't forget bring diamond sword with Smite V enchantment.

Another choice is equipping frost Walker, and fighting the wither in the ocean. Just for less terrain and arena damage.

Also due to the sliding, you could drink something like milk while also keeping movement.
It wouldn't be a good option. I loved frost walker and I tried it before. I always have to run and when I stop to eat, the wither shoot me and break the ice underneath me. You know how awful it is to regain it. YOu have to find a piece of land to regain the ability

Lol I still remember taking 5 mins to beat him alone in Java vs 5 Hours I spent helping my friends on bedrock. The first 30mins consisted of us getting obliterated, then we left it, spent time getting T'd up and damn right had a military strategy to take back our land ! Good times man good times
It took me two hours, three sets of netherite armor, 7 totems, three notch apple and 15 potions of healing.

Me too. I was fighting with it in a mineshaft, and we were so underprepared. It almost got to the surface underneath my base.
2 guys, 10 iron golems and nether bedrock ceiling to get to kill it
Think it's doable to do it solo, and pretty safe on top of that
I’ve just killed it today, I spawned it at y 4 and it dug all the way up to the surface 😂
However I realised the easiest way to kill it is to spawn it under water
My two friends died off of the start and I spent like 15 minutes running and gunning. Wither effect ate up my totem of undying. Two things I had over this guy is that I didn’t have knockback enchantment and I used strength II. No elytra though. A bug kept me from seeing the wither’s health as well so the final blows were purely out of faith. Crazy.

You must be one tortured soul. You had to kill:
A wither
On 600hp
Twice the damage of normal difficulty
Not even using a chest plate half the time
Only a few totems of undying
Also dealing with three wither skeletons
Constant explosions
A more prolonged wither effect
And all of that, PLUS, at the end, you had to survive the wither’s final explosion on death.

Bedrock turned the Wither into a super-boss. On Java, it's an destructive mob that can be spawned underground and destroyed. On Bedrock, it's a monster.
I love how it has its own phases in this version. It starts off by shooting skulls, speeding up the lower its health gets. Then, at half health, not only does it generate a shield that prevents ranged attacks, it also slams into the ground and awakens the undead, catching almost everyone off guard since seeing a Wither Skeleton in the overworld is honestly a cursed thought. Then, it starts shooting again, but starts DASHING in your direction, breaking multiple blocks. And when you defeat it finally, after minutes of effort and dodging attacks, it explodes, probably killing anyone near it anticipating a nether star.
This fight is now an absolute fucking *masterclass.* Easily my favorite mob in Minecraft now.
The wither effect feels awfully punishing though, even when he eats golden apples it barely helps

The Ender Dragon , the FINAL BOSS OF THE GAME , is easier than this in Bedrock.
In Java, it's a lot harder. It can pulls you into the void and attacks rapidly. But in Bedrock, it is easy to beat.

I know a youtuber that fought the wither in hard mode for practice to kill the dragon. Turns out, the wither is harder to kill than the dragon and it lasted 7 episodes😂

It explodes 3 times(spawn, mid-fight, and the death) and its pretty cool actually, but weaker than charged creeper tho

So about what 5 or so withers got spawned. Saying that they got no lag the entire area around would be reduced to dust befor being able to kill them all
Incase you were wondering:
-Bedrock Withers darken the area when spawned, making undead mobs not burn in daylight
-Bedrock Edition Withers have 600 health rather than Java's 300
-Bedrock Edition Withers do not passively heal every second
-When it kills a mob, Bedrock's Wither always drops wither roses as an item rather than planting
-Java's Wither hovers above its target and shoots black wither skulls, only very rarely shooting a blue one, while Bedrock's flies in random, unpredictable directions and shoots a burst of 3 black skulls and 1 guaranteed blue one, which can be deflected like a ghast fireball
-Java's Wither flies at ground level when it has half (150) health left but is immune to arrows and tridents, while when Bedrock's reaches half (300) health, it explodes and unlocks its dash attack, and spawns in a group of wither skeletons
-Bedrock's dash attack destroys blocks in its path like Jean
-Bedrock's explodes when killed
-Its nether star despawns after 10 minutes in Java, but never despawns in Bedrock

I'm not sure if this is just because of the new updates but the wither roses seem to be planted by the bedrock wither as well.
The bedrock wither also shoots skulls faster when it gets hurt more in the first stage.
Looks alot more fun to fight than the one in Java.
That one just rushes you down the second you make it aggro.

Thats why the java edition one is much harder. The wither skeletons are a minor inconvenience. Java is harder.
Oranger You just going to casually not mention the fact that the wither on bedrock has two times the amount of health. Also I am pretty sure the wither on Java done dash towards you, but I can’t test that.
in bedrock as this guys does, you can just run a little away, heal, then go back and fight. in java it will stay on you so you cant escape

Brock Coughlan go to the nether and dig to the top of the map where the ceiling is bedrock. Fight the wither there since it will get stuck in the initial spawning thingy. It will be a whole lot easier.
I know I could do that but there’s just too much that could go wrong also it’s much easier to fight him in the over world because it’s so much easier to avoid his attacks since I’m able to fly around with my Eleytra , Plus like I need something else in the nether that’s trying to kill me

This video definitely helped a lot. Was on Bedrock and spawned it out of curiosity, lost all my netherite gear while trying to lead it away from my friends. Found this strategy and it was much easier.

Im on my minecraft world in bedrock 1.16 with full netherite. My wither came from the underground and now i have to fight this wither with like 5fps so im gonna try and get a smite V sword ( iron ) and spam golems. Drink strength 2 pots and hope for the best!!!

This is sick. Honestly, I didn’t even know how you were actually supposed to fight the wither, without just trapping it in bedrock or some shit. Elytra out in the desert is something I never thought of. This looks like a genuinely fun boss battle
Yesterday I tried doing a Bedrock Wither fight for the first time and... I was NOT prepared. I decided to do the "dig to the bedrock ceiling of the nether" strategy because I heard that made the fight easier. It did not, and only later did I figure out I was using the ceiling for the wrong reason. I realised I forgot to make any kind of platform out of obsidian to fight it on, but then I found out the Bedrock Wither can break obsidian stuff so I'm kinda glad I didn't waste it.
Incidentally, I found out it broke Obsidian stuff when it destroyed my respawn anchor. That was what clued me in to how much I was in trouble.
Originally I had planned to yolo the fight and just go in as I was, before deciding better of it. I made the Respawn Anchor, 8 Golden Apples and found 2 milk buckets left over from my raid on an Ocean Monument. I didn't even bother to make Instant Health Potions because, hey, Golden Apples will regen you faster than the Wither Effect harms you, right? (Turns out, even on Normal Difficulty, it does not.) After seeing this video I realise this was nowhere near enough prep.
I burned through the Golden applies and used up one of the milk buckets (I say one because, like an idiot, I forgot to move the other one to my hot bar after using the first one). very, very quickly, and in fact I died to Withering while trying to eat my last apple, before the eating animation could finish cycling. RIP. I only managed to do about 1/6 of its health in damage with my Punch IV bow, and I never even got to use my Smite V sword on it.
I ended up doing a difficulty toggle to Peaceful because I knew I couldn't beat it at that point and I just wanted my stuff back. Thankfully nothing despawned or got taken by Piglins.
I guess I’m the only one that came here after the wither destroyed the world and I had to back it up...

Not really. I had to change the difficulty to peaceful to get rid of it. I spawned it underground and had no way of hitting it without getting the wither effect. It dug its way towards the surface and many mobs spawned on my face. Not to mention the damn silverfishes, cause I was under a mountain...
that almost happened but my server operator set the realm to peaceful before it discovered our village

One thing I recommend is tipped healing arrows. Since it’s undead, that will do extra damage. Also don’t forget your milk

This is really helpful for the what to bring but I prefer fighting him in the ocean, he gets distracted by all the fish and I launch myself with my riptide trident to hit him with my smite sword

Fun fact: There's a bug in Bedrock where Absorption gets bypassed by the Wither effect which renders normal Golden Apples to straight up be useless.

To be honest, the Bedrock Wither is like a Dark Souls boss compared to Java. It feels more epic, because it flies at a higher speed and randomized movement, summons minions, more health, longer wither effect, breaks literally everything except from bedrock. It just feels slightly more immersive, and a bit of a challenge aswell. On the contrary, the Java Wither is a bit weaker in my opinion and presents itself more as a "Target Practice" than an actual secondary boss. It doesn't spawn minions, less health, can't break obsidian and well, moves slowly than it should.
In conclusion, I believe that the Bedrock Wither is more of a challenge than in Java, which is indeed surprising, as I thought that mobile should have an easier Wither fight than on Java.
And it should be easier, because we already suffered too much from FPS drops, crashes and bugs and the boss that should be easier is super difficult, once I summoned him on my map, he destroyed so much I couldn't even play so I had to give up and use the creative

No. In Java you can put different stained glasses to make unique color combos but in bedrock you can only put in 1 stained glass as putting 2 glasses will block the beacon ray.

was contemplating fighting him in the nether soulsand valley on my bedrock survival world (hard mode too) for an extra challenge.
When I summoned this satan spawn, it went on to insta-kill me upon spawning, (and by the way, I had fully enchanted diamond armor,) eat a whole cave system, a base that was built by me, and 3 fairly competent friends, (this base was about the size of a large village,) and almost a whole ass plains biome. I ended up killing it with commands. Amazing work on beating this thing legit, and solo, you absolute mad man.
mine just spams wither skulls, I only managed to bring its health very low, as fps on phone drops alot when it has to render alot of floating blocks :')

Thanks for posting. I just took him on for the first time in my bedrock world and tried to do it blind. Spawned him in a desert for my first attempt and got wrecked (it's a solid fight). Loaded my backup copy and took the fight to a strip mine instead. It's still a slugfest but soooo much more manageable.
The olny thing you have to make sure is that you got a pickaxe with you, because my first wither fight ended with my back against the wall of my tunnel and no pickaxe in my inventory.

Strip mine was literally the worst idea for me. I spawned him in and he burrows up. He then left so many blocks lying on the ground that I was on 2fps. He killed me, came up through the ground out under my house and destroyed almost everything. Deleted the world after that. This all happened because I could barely move because of the FPS drop and lag. The wither effect needs a nerf also. Get withered once and you’re dead. Java has it easy, once again.

I would like to say after making an obsidian box, obtaining full netherite gear and a chest full of potions tons of enchantments and 2 other guys with similar stuff. (One had a notch apple.) that the wither on bedrock hard mode has officially destroyed all our stuff. Any gear or anything else was lost. Our base area was saved but everything else was gone aside from 2 shulker boxes of mine with various things and a couple diamonds and junk that I had managed to hide in a chest before I died. My friend had a lot more gear at his house but as for me.... I brought everything. We ended up killing him after we put it in easy mode. To anyone attempting this challenge: get a max netherite sword with smite 5 instead of sharpness. Trap the wither in a 5 layer obsidian box and get a max bow or riptide trident. I would NOT recommend, killing the wither at all on bedrock is worth the clout. Hard mode is near impossible. If you want to have a genuine fight for your first one, then do it, all wither fights after that make a wither killer or something. This has been wither tips with carter.

I honestly died once and freaked out like a maniac but got my stuff and a nether star 😁
And it was my first time fighting the wither legit and expected it to be easy like in Java but boy oh boy it went crazy. I got a lot of cobble from the fight tho 😁

I recently beat Wither on hard mode at my 6th attempt (through multiple backups). I was fighting it in badlands, on one of those teracotta mountains. I didn't use elytra because i don't have one yet. Thankfully, teracotta has higher blast resistance so the terrain wasn't as hectic as in this video.
Wither sure is a challenge in Bedrock. Especially at the 2nd phase. You have to circle around it while deciding whether to rush and attack or wait until it's close enough.
My equipments:
•Protection 3 D.Helmet
•Blast Protection 4 D.Chestplate
•Protection 3 D.Leggings
•Feather Falling 2 D.Boots
•Sharpness 4 D.Sword
•Punch 2/Power 2/Infinity Bow
•6 Gapples
•6 Potion of Healing II
•8 Milk Bucket
Note: The arrows from Punch II Bow can deflect black skulls. I clutched twice with it (from getting withered) in the 1st phase.

Always spawn the wither in a forest. Trees can prevent him from flying too high and provide cover for his projectiles. Don't forget to make to make strength 2 potions for the second phase. If you already killed the wither, you can set a beacon with resistance 2 (- 40% dmg taken from all sources but hunger), it makes the fight much easier.
But can't the wither just destroy your beacon pyramid, rendering the beacon useless?
@@andrewbichon6622 put it underground with glass on top of the beacon so the beam isn't blocked

@@mattb5658 for some reason, the wither sometimes breaks 100 block deep holes on its second phase. So, it could break your pyramid beacon with it.
Small tip
Make sure to turn off tile drops
This will make all the broken block to drop nothing
This will help in reducing lag.

Bedrock Wither is one of the strongest boss mobs you could ever face he's even up to par with certain modded bosses been capable of beating the Ur Ghast.
As a java player, I think there should be parity between versions, the fight against the wither in bedrock is good and the fact that the wither, being a boss, beats the warden makes sense in bedrock, I think they should make them both have 300 health as in java but it can spawn mobs and do that attack like in bedrock at least to make it more parity between versions

Bro you're insane man! You completely obliterated him! I tried fighting him and backed up my world before I did so. I lost twice, and I won the 3rd time! I mean, I did it in a cave, but it's still really hard for a number of reasons underground vs. above ground.
1.) You have to deal with all the lag of the items that he drops(My frames per second became seconds per frame)
2.) You have to deal with all the gravel that comes down when he has a seizure.
3.) have to deal with all the other mobs that spawn when he makes his own artificial cave
It took me 4 totems, 5 golden apples, and 4 buckets of milk to kill this thing(no potions and no beacons)! All in all, good job mate!
I just fought the wither in the nether with my friends and seriously underestimated it. I didn't know that the java and bedrock version were that different and we all died and one of us lost everything

I used 40 Golden apples, 4 buckets of milk, maxed out netherite gear, and i did it in a cave. I almost died 18 times because I have seen videos about the Java wither but I did research and found out that bedrock Wither is twice as strong.

1)Full Netherite Armour with enchants.
2)Netherite Sword with Smite IV.
3)4 Golden Apples.
4)84 Arrows of Healing ll *(since they do a lot of damage to undead mobs)*
5)4 Totem of Undiying.
*Is this all enough or am I screwed?*

Tip: using healing splash potions will damage the wither since it's an undead mob,so you can use the healing arrows against it which would make it less difficult on bedrock edition
I watched a bunch of java players kill the wither pretty easily and always thought, wow I really suck at killing the wither. Then I realized the difference between java wither and bedrock wither.
This really inspired me to fight it since you took it down so easy and I have better gear. Thx really inspiring

Mad respect dude, I play on hard but I would never fight the wither above ground, I take the easy route.
It's actually easier to fight the Wither on the surface in Bedrock edition, more space to maneuver through and less lag
I did it in the end, when dragon dies, there's a portal so I spawned behind and he just stays there lol

We were 4 on the server, hard difficulty. Spawned on lvl 4, Wither made his way until the surface,it took about 1 hour to kill him,everybody died several times and we lost all the initial equipment.

Although java wither has regeneration, which makes it way harder. If you die once he heals up and u can start again. That ruined my first fight and i lost everything.

@@antonipersinte7492 Yeah i wanted to fight him properly, then haha i died ... thought i can trap him in obsidian aftermath with invis. But it has taken me 10 tries, cause he breaks free anyway.
But both are easy, if u just sprint, look up and shoot, sprint etc. That worked out pretty well for me. And second phase is no problem with proper gear

My hands hurt after beating bedrock wither in hard mode
Tried fighting this guy on bedrock and it’s ridiculous. I spawned him in an obsidian box which he destroyed insanely easy. Then he one shot me in full prot4 armor and targeted my items on the ground
All in all I used 2 stacks of totems of Undying, 3 sets of diamond armor (he broke through my first set after I died), 2 bows, 16 enchanted golden apples and more health potions than I can count. This guy is Broken to the point of it being unfun. I have no qualms about going into creative to spawn in beacons over fighting this thing. It’s not even fun
