    晴れの門出に相応しい良いお天気だったようで何よりでした。
    芸妓さんも舞妓さんも時々見せる笑顔と仕草が、改めて二十歳そこそこの女性なんだという事を垣間見せてくれますね^^
    今の時代にこの厳しい世界に14,5歳の頃から身を置き、沢山の習い事や厳格なしきたりや作法を学び芸舞妓さんになられる事は私達の知りえる事がない、強い信念と思い、そして大変なご苦労があったに違いがありません。
    また、その道へ進む事に後押しをしてくれた親御さん、その娘さん達を大切にそして一人前の芸舞妓に育てる為に尽力されている置屋さん地方さん、地域の方々達。
    一人の芸舞妓さんを育てると同時に日本の文化と伝統を守る役割を担っている関係各所の方達に感謝です。
    そして新たに芸舞妓になられた4人の娘さん、この度はおめでとうございます。

      山親爺さまがおっしゃられた通り私には想像もできないような強い信念がなければなることができない厳しい世界だと思います。
      私も、そのような強い信念をもって行動ができるようになりたいです。
      舞妓さんや、芸妓さんの所作一つに壮大な歴史と伝統が凝縮されているのだなと改めて実感いたしました。

      @@modtomodern The state of the arts in the west is not so good. Marxists have taken over, so all of the art being produced now is an attack on western traditions. Anyone who tries to revive western traditions through the arts is labelled a racist, a sexist, and every other 'ist' in the book. They get blacklisted and censored and even assaulted. Bomb threats are called on the venues. This kind of terrorism is how Communism takes over societies. Countries like China do the same thing to try to shut down Shen Yun, a traditional Chinese dance show that performs in the west. I wish it was as easy as you said, but we are at war and few people realize it.

    Most westerners do not know that those Kimonos cost over $20,000 usd. Most Japanese men pay more their wives Kimono's than the family car. (This is true, my wife is Japanese, her Kimono did cost me close to $20,000.) However my F250 cost me more than that, however we can't put her INTO my F250 in her Kimono, too high up. LOL So Kimono wins over F250

    • @micky4fun
      @micky4fun 4 года назад +2

      @Brent Barnhart
      : Like Western clothes, Japanese kimonos cover a wide range of prices. There are some that are inexpensive, reasonably priced. Likewise, there are others at the top end which -- for numerous reasons -- cost thousands and thousands of Yens, often not worn but for exhibition purposes only.

    • @brentbarnhart5827
      @brentbarnhart5827 4 года назад +1

      @@micky4fun Obviously they cover from cheap to expensive, but what you are speaking about "put on exhibition purposes only," I don't know any Japanese who "exhibits" their Kimono's... it is their CLOTHING. We don't exhibit our Levi's in the united States anymore than they their Kimonos, silly comment. My mother and wife WEAR their $15,000 to $20,000 Kimonos, it is their clothing. Many young people today "rent' their Kimonos for special graduations, etc. which is a fairly "new thing."

    • @brentbarnhart5827
      @brentbarnhart5827 4 года назад

      @@micky4fun I suggested my wife "exhibit" one of her Kimono's at our ranch in America, in a room I wanted to put in Tatami floors and decorate it in a Japanese style, and she thought I had "lost my mind," put her expensive Kimono on exhibit, NO WAY. It is carefully stored away, not even put on a hanger. (They have a special way of packaging them up.)

    • @micky4fun
      @micky4fun 4 года назад +2

      Brent: I just have one last comment -- do you think anybody here really cares how much you paid for your wife's kimono or why/how she wears it? Or that you purchased a F250? Seriously doubt it. If you are both happy, that is all that matters. It's your money.

    • @brentbarnhart5827

      Normal? Not really. It might come as surprise to many here that most Japanese have never seen a geisha. Geishas are in fact a very rare sight as there are only a few hundred left in Japan. I have been fortunate enough to encounter a couple of "real" geishas while visiting Tokyo. (Warning! There are many fake geishas around which may look like geishas but are really not, including tourists that dress up as geishas walking around Tokyo and elsewhere in Japan.).

      Erikae (襟替え, the turning of the collar) is a ceremony where a maiko (an apprentice geisha) becomes a geisha and begins to wear the white collar of a geisha instead of the red worn by apprentices. Her hairstyle would also be changed from the ofuku-style to the shimada worn by older women.
      Misedashi (店だし, making business public) in Japan is a ceremony where a shikomi (an aspiring geiko) becomes a maiko (an apprentice geiko) and officially begins their career. After the ceremony is over the maiko will be guided through the streets by an otokoshi-san (male dresser) to their teachers and other okiya to thank them for their support and let them know they have debuted.
      Thanks.

      Joselito Calugay They did greetings to owners of okiya
      okiya means maiko and geiko's house. It's like show business agency for maiko and geiko.
      they're finally becoming a geisha. so they said "thanks for okasan and please keep in touch from now on."
      they said "Ookini Okasan"
      Ookini = Thank you in Kansai dialect
      Okasan= mother

      @steve gale Even after the deed has been already done, while the situation continues it's natural to use ありがとうございます. This is typical mistake for beginner learners because they stick to that ありがとうございました is past form but ありがとうございます can be used for the past deed when the conclusion of the deed still exists. In this case, this video still exists on RUclips, so ありがとうございます is more natural.
      I passed N1 of JLPT, graduated from university in Japan and work at Japanese company but I don't feel ありがとうございます is wrong when I first saw the sentence. I asked this to my Japanese co-workers in today's lunch time, but all of them agreed with me. Plus, Japanese people in this comment use ありがとうございます actually.

    • @denischadima1175
      @denischadima1175 5 лет назад

      @steve gale すごいですね(悪い意味で)。JLPTが出来るから流暢に話せるとは思っていませんよ。私はちゃんと大学で日本語で講義を勉強し、会社では日本語を使って仕事をしています。だから、そう言っているのです。
      90年代以前と以後でそんなに違いがある訳ないでしょう。少なくとも私は90年代以前の日本人と以後の日本人と話してそう感じません。
      あと私がそのことに尋ねた同僚は皆1970年代に生まれたのが2人、1960年代に生まれたのが1人です。だから、あなたの指摘は値しませんね。仮にあなたの主張が正しいとすると、彼らが私に同意した事実と矛盾します。
      じゃああなたが日本語を書けばいいんじゃないですか?私の同僚は京都の人間で1960年代に生まれ、京都弁を話すが私は話してて理解できます。あなたは日本語が時代によって違うと理解しているようですが少なくともここ100年程は互いに理解できない違いはないです。私は三島由紀夫や川端康成等の昔の小説を読むが理解できます。
      あなたの日本語が理解されないのはただ下手なだけなのではないでしょうか。是非日本語で会話しましょう。あなたが書いた日本語を私が理解できなければそれで終わりでしょう。
