- Speedrunning is one of the most unique competitions in gaming. Nothing is more exciting that getting a personal best or world record time. Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life has some speedrun categories, so I spent a while doing some runs and got world record time for every category. The only thing left was for me to make my own challenge; Ceci%

Man, the audacity to find out the categories for your fave game, get a WR in all of them and make your own, only to end the video with "speedrunning was def something ive been itching to try"

I like that there are still some nods to the OG marriage candidates from the gamecube release of the game. The arranged marriage thing was something I remember from my childhood that made me want to save poor Ceci even when Nami was my favorite bachelorette.
I feel the same way about Muffy's cutscenes if you don't marry her lol. I feel so bad seeing them every chapter
To be fair, a few of those are simply time save from the faster loading of PC vs Switch
To be even more fair, I’ve timed a whole bunch of things between PC and Switch, and things like entering and leaving houses are actually slower on my PC. It might be different if you’re file is on a certain hard drive, but loading times for all of my runs are inconsequential. For example, entering and leaving Cecilia’s house takes more than 1 second longer on my WR ceci proposal run than the fastest switch run.
@@JackDuckGoose PC saves a ton of time throughout -- you can simply look at the intro of both versions to see a large difference. The game runs smoother and without lag on PC, it's not a debate.
@@DemoPlaysGames I've found truth in both of these sentiments. Playing on PC does save time in the long run. The comment I replied to specifically mentioned load times and I've seen the switch version outperform the PC version in certain scenarios. Granted, that might change if someone else has the game installed on a faster drive, has a newer graphics card, processor, faster RAM, etc. At no point was I implying that the switch runs "better" than PC. If I gave off that impression, I apologize.

My go to comfort food is the Pillsbury cinnabon cinnamon rolls. Theyre a nice warm snack that's easy enough to make when I have 0 energy.

I also wanted to comment on one of my faaaavorite comfort foods that might be a bit different from others (since at first I was gonna comment french toast since I just had it the other day and it just hits just saying).
Need to finally learn how to make this since my yiayia is getting older every day, but my favorite thing ever is her avgolemono soup. Avgolemono literally means egg lemon, which is the base used to thicken the soup. She puts rice and chicken/chicken broth in it as well, which is also very typical. It's like what she always used to make when we were sick, which is probably also why she doesn't season it very much. I think the blandness is why my siblings don't care too much for it lol but I think maybe since it was something she always made very slowly and with the intention to make us feel warm and better (getting a whole chicken and making stock from it) is why I might find it so comforting even if it it kind of bland haha XD

I do love myself some Greek food. Tzatziki is an incredibly underrated dip, sauce, dressing, whatever you want to call it, and I put it on everything lol
@@JackDuckGoose as a certified Greek, it is all of the above. Anything goes with Tzatziki if you’re brave enough (flatbread and tzatziki is a good healthy snack)

Fiance and I just started watching your content recently and we've loved it. First video was your 300 day movie for Harvest Moon and it was so relaxing to watch lol.
As for comfort food it is a toss up between chicken corn chowder(the go to food when I am sick) and creamy chicken pesto pasta(first dish I learned how to make). Both give me a lot of nostalgia. ♥

My comfort food is tom kha but with shrimp instead of chicken. I always order thai spicy (or whatever the equivalent of the spiciest option is). The spices and coconut milk soup base compliment each other so well and the warming aspect of soup make it my go-to comfort meal.
Mmmmm Thai food is amazing. I'm lucky enough to live in a town with a lot of cultural diversity so there's tons of great Thai, Vietnamese, and Laos food around that all scratch that super spicy itch I get once in a while lol

Chickn Katsu my beloved lol. Anyways, yeah there are a lot of HM/SoS speedruns out there. Some players speedrun getting the teddy bear in AWL, and I've seen some crazy, 24hr+ speedruns of people getting all the sprites in DS.

I recently played AWL for the first time through the GCN original, dropped it at the beginning of Year 3. This video is the first time I'm seeing remake footage. The remake isn't as visually charming but it looks way more fun to actually play
Yeah the remake isn't as "gritty" as the original, but they definitely made it more playable in the long term lol

If you wanted to try this is Magical Melody, when I was a kid I married Blue by/during/before my first Summer once. How I did it, not completely sure. I know I bought the house next door to the ranch, which is in the middle of town. I bought a milk from there and gave it to him every day. Somehow it worked out.
That is super impressive given how difficult it is to get affection up in Magical Melody lol

@@kirikat9365 From my experience, it takes about 3-4 loved gifts to get a character up a heart level. That combined with getting the 3rd house upgrade and buying the big bed makes that quite a feat in my opinion lol
@@JackDuckGoose So just looked at the prices for all of that, it's (give or take) 10,000G for upgrade costs, one heart with any of the carpenters to get the big bed, and the cost of one milk every day for 30ish days. On top of that there was the farming and foraging to fund it all that had to be done. Do you accept challenges? I kinda want to see if you can pull it off lol

I was also wondering why they/them pronouns give you the least amount of characters when they is longer than he or she? Does the they/them option remove other extra dialogue in the form of descriptors sometimes I wonder???
6 Days might be possible, but it would take a lot of testing. You can only trigger one "event" per day and each one (outside the introduction event) gives 1 affection heart. You need 8 to propose, so that means you need to get 5 hearts in 6 days. I would have to experiment a lot with gifts, and potentially try to grow a tomato to complete her request.
About the they/them descriptors; almost every time you talk to someone or someone is talking about you with that gender selection, the games dialogue system changes to only use the name you selected. So, every character will almost always refer to you as "i" if that's the name you put in the text box to start the game. It definitely does affect time. I've tested both female and male pronouns, along with using the japanese text for the game, and using they/them with one character has always been quicker by 10-15 seconds if not more.

Why would you give Nami dig site items when you could give her herbal soup though? Does she like it less than dig site items?
What makes Nami so endearing to me is that she's harder to romance than the other bachelorettes. All of the gifts that she "loves" that you can find in the early game are in the dig site. While she does "like" herbal soup, only gifting her items in that category takes much longer to get her up in affection.

Lol thats fair. I would say the hardest of this type of run would be Nami. I guess the main reason I chose Ceci was because it would be the quickest time, and everyone knows smaller number = better person in speedrunning lol

@@JackDuckGoose depends on how much water you add, but it can be anywhere from soupy to a stiff, mashed potato consistency. It’s a little bit grainy, but not like sand, more like oatmeal. Big soft grains. Quaker sells a variety pack, try it sometime. They’re easy to make, delicious, and have an insane shelf life

I could see Molly being more likely since it's possible to see all her cutscenes in the first season. Nami's alternative proposal cutscene can only be triggered in winter, so that's a lot of sleeping you need to do lol
