    Just as a clarification, the Grinnin' Blades ability was always 12" no visbility, but it previously applied only to ROUND 1. The new way it's worded means that it is now all game you're not visible outside of 12" - not just to shooting but anything that requires visibility (like spells). The cover based no shooting you're thinking of is "Covered in Mud", which was one of the dirty tricks.

      Could you have Man skewer bolt boys that are untouchable while still sniping across the map?
      Also can units that outside 12" and not visible still be affected by endless spells that just do area of effect damage like Skavem Warp Lighting?

      @@maxpower3990 They are indeed unable to be targeted by enemy shooting or spells that require vision. So they can sit there happily shooting at their maximum range and other units need to close to within 12" to hurt them. This is pretty good, because bolt boyz actually want to move and use their shorter range shot to get more chances for mortal wounds.
      They can indeed be affected by endless spells and AoE spells like Choking Mist. Endless spells usually need to be close to you anyway and don't require vision (EG purple sun) and AoE spells don't need their targets to be visible (just within distance of a certain model or point).

    Choking mist the way the audience proposes (you calculate who is affected immediately) is much smoother in terms of tracking, I prefer that interpretation.

    Enjoyable to watch, always personally glad to see more AoS being played (and nice to see some without Purple Sun being used).
    I agree that this seasons mixing things up has made playing more interesting again, constant monster mash got a bit old after a while.
    Reinforced units of Clanrats counting as 3 models each for objectives (and a Clawlord heroic action punching them so only D3 are lost come battleshock time) ftw.
    Also upvote for Skari.

    I’ve been looking for some decent Dreadwood list ideas for a while now! Drycha and some Spite Revenants were the first models I bought (after the Start Collecting! box). Not exactly anything groundbreaking list wise, but nice to see it in action.

    Gorgeous models! I am very found of the nasty sneaky Krule boyz (as an alternative to the fun hyperagressive normal orcs) thematically.
    The teleport hit and no response in meele then teleport back is obvioulsy broken. Once per game whould be very good but once per turn is ...

    Great game guys, thanks for putting it up and with quite balanced lists! re choking mist I think it would have said "any" unit in 6" is affected if it would have worked as a persisting cloud. as now it says "all" ie as of when the spell resolve, and therefore I think its a pulse nova

    Matt finally remembers he has a Waagh, but doesn't notice it's only on oruks (and 2 additional units) so it wouldn't do anything anyway... :)

      It works on any kruleboyz, no need for the Orruk keyword

    Fyi you couldn't have tried to dispell the Spiteswarm as it had to be visible and inside the trees or that close there wasn't Los so couldn't make the attempy

    I hate how Pot-Grot is kind of useless. I hope they fix that. I know he brews the potions and all and I know it technically adds more reach to the unit, but really...really that's important for a model with 3" range anyway? I know the shaman isn't really meant to be an attacker. But I wish having the Pot-Grot alive gave you an additional bonus, like having the Pot-Grot alive means +1 cast. And then he can be used to shrug off one damage like the Stab-grot. Seems like that would be great. It would make the shaman a little tankier for late game fights.

      My glade rule allowed me to do two units once per game as long as one unit was spots revenants .

      @@SkaredCast the tree-revenants in the second turn didn't use walk the hidden paths they used their ability "Musician" right?
      which allows them to teleport anywhere on the battlefield instead of moving which I don't think counts as a second use of walk the hidden paths

      They can be in the new ghb. For every one gutrippa you take as battleline you can take 1 hobgrot unit.

    I don't think you could have won on turn 3 even if you had've massacred the dryads, I think you can't cap anything turn 1 and can only cap 1 point each turn thereafter so turn 2 you each capped your home obj, Turn 3 you capped the mid obj thus couldn't cap the Sylvaneth home point until turn 4

    Concerning 'Choking Mist'-I know 'Rules as written' has been a thing for Matt for a long time (or 'Rules as Matt decides to interpret them after Olympian levels on mental gymnastics' as it might more accurately be known) but have any of Matt's takes proven to be right in the end, post clarification? And if not, is it possible the problem is with how he interacts with the rules rather than how they are written (since most people seem to interpret them differently to the way he does and the clarification proves him to be incorrect 9/10 if not all the time)? Just a thought :)
    No ill will towards Matt and I do get it-Some of those rules are pretty shaky. I'm just saying-Maybe bow to the majority opinion sometimes? Or at least give that opinion a fair consideration :)

      It might be due to reading into things in a very "fluffy" way, combined with also playing many other systems. As an exclusive AoS player you kind of get a feeling of how GW writes these rules and would write them, in case choking mist worked like a persistent zone/aura debuff, which is not the case, it would have been stated somewhere in the description. This carries into the aura/pulse discussions on some abilities. As it simply applies a "debuff" on the units in range until the next hero phase, it is great into being double turned. I will agree though that the rules could be far more airtight and the interpretation mostly comes down to what to emphasize in that sentence in the context of how all other rules "normally" work.

    Cruleboyz mortal wounds output is ridiculous, op and just not fun. Maybe it's just me thinking that though

      Have you seen what Lumineth can do ? Kruleboyz are very squishy and very slow. Matt didn't even bring any Boltboyz. You think its fun to bash your head against an army that hast 2+ saves all around even after -2 rend ??? Mortal wounds are the only answer to save stacking. Sylvaneth are especially problematic because most of them have a 3+ base save.

      @@SkaredCast I’m an optimizer when I play, so it bleeds over into how I view BRs. I’m also a little salty. I just finished my 30 dryads and 2 branch wraiths before the new book came out. Feels like a waste.

    Gutrippaz just die way to easily. Even after you used scare tactics 😢. I think you can not counter their teleport + attack without bolt boyz and unleash hell.

    Sylvaneth doesn't seem balanced at all. Oh look at our perfect screening unit that gets to move 12" after they unleash hell. Far to many opportunities for not interactive game play. You opponent gets to roll saves and doesn't even get to kill any models back.

      Ironjawz can charge them in the hero phase with mighty destroyers, since Unleash Hell can only be used in the charge phase (11.2). And since you charged, you get to pile in even after the archers retreated. Making them less usable as a screen if the main target is close enough behind them. You can use Ironsunz to charge them in the enemy charge phase if you opponent is out of CP. You can charge them with a weak ardboyz unit then then charge your main target with something else. Or you could just ignore them and play for objectives. They are pretty overprized for the damage they deal. How do you plan on beating things like Alarielle, Morathi, Archaon, Kragnos etc. if you have no way of doing damage besides meele ? If your gameplan is just "charge in and hope for the best" good luck ever beating a half-decent player.

    Too many terrain trees in these Sylanventh games. It isn't balanced. It gives Sylvaneth much too much of an advantage.

      The constant teleporting especially after fighting makes me despise this army. i don't mind the teleporting in general or teleport and charging, but to teleport , charge, fight, teleport away before getting hit back is just amazingly annoying.

      @@shadeling6717 Everything in the book is massively overcosted. If they have a TLA just for the guaranteed wyldwood, they pay 360 points just for that. You can block teleportation towards a wlydwood by having a unit within 3" of it. Unbind or dispel the spiteswarm hive and your opponent will have to rely on 9" charges and if they dont make it, their unit is completely out in the open and an easy target.
