  • A story of how a journey of self-discovery, healing and reconnection with nature evolved into a mission to save the world’s largest rainforest.
    Website: www.theplan.is

Drawn by geometry, nature, and purpose Irene completed her Architecture and Urbanism graduate degree in London. In 2012 she set up her independent journey theplan.is, to pursue her passion to create art installations, exhibitions, stage designs and festival structures. Two years ago she embarked on a journey to reconnect with nature and explore the world of ecological design, sustainability and permaculture. Along this journey she felt inspired to research and raise awareness on pressing environmental matters and recently created a campaign to spread awareness of deforestation. This led Irene on a 5 month-long reforestation mission in the Amazon rainforest.

Infinite love and respect for your work 💛 we are finally waking up. All the movements around stopping the consumption of other animals and plastics, healing our minds with plant medicines and nature's touch and sounds, is bringing people together to open hearts and let go of the old conditioning. I love you, let's plant more biodiversity!

You know...for the amount of money you spent on travel to take a drug, you could have literally bought several acres of the amazon to be conserved in perpetuity. It would have saved thousands of gallons of fuel, like that being drilled in Ecuador, and several pounds of co2. You could have done all of that with a push of a button. You could have also done a lot for our mother by finding out how your choices hurt her..things you do every day that you have the power to change.

Beautifully spoken. I and several people i am now connected to have also awakened in the Amazon and vowed to come back and help. Some have produced films, some written blogs and presented at conferences, or like me have not yet been able to return. How can we collaborate and increase the awareness and love?

I cried through this whole thing. I can't see the threads, but I know they are there because some westerners study them. We call it ecology. Everyone knows about the amazon. Nobody knows about the amazon of asia where the palm plantations burn the peat under heath and its so much worse to burn that one.

I am an Indigenous Person who has been fighting the Tailings Ponds in Northern Alberta. It is a place where Methane is created, and having found a way to Clean the TPs is not possible without consent with Local Indigenous Leaders who have been paid well to keep the Fossil Fuel Industry going for another 40 years. In another (Papua New Guinea) Country in Oceania, Tailings Ponds are released into the Great Barrier Reefs off the Coast to the South, and East of Australia, toxic mercury is killing off another Lung of the Planet. Most of the work is generated personally. Getting support to clean then Tailings, which are just in the backyards of the Cree People where animals drink water, or help the Trees grow from the Toxic Water that runoff from the Ponds after being Filled. I wish I had the resources or Platform to make People aware that many People before have tried to help clean, but all have failed because they did not have the Technology. CMW Technology would allow this water to be clean at 9-Log levels of purity and would be released into the Athabasca River, a great amount of work at producing a technology that would enable this to be a reality.

We are reconnecting. I’d fight for the rain forest. It’s a necessity of the earth. I’m a white guy from NYC. A concrete jungle. The furthest you can get from a real jungle. I hate what civilization has become lol Seriously... Someone walk me through your jungle to introduce me to ayahuasca please?
