Best Pool guy on RUclips. Thanks for all the great info. I'm a total newb to pool ownership and after watching nearly all of your videos, I now have some confidence to maintain my pool myself. Thanks so much for your awesome videos. Keep up the great work.
I needed to add ph increaser to go to normal range, but that made my alkalinity to go high (was good before). Now how do I reduce alkalinity without affecting the PH ? I have a 3400 gallon swim spa.
I've added about 6 pounds of washing soda to 10000 gallons, that's what poolmath app recommend. And it got very cloudy very fast. Overnight it all sank to the bottom and pH test shows no difference as far as I can tell.
Dang it. I know our pool will be hot enough to boil eggs next Summer! Would love to aerate to cool it down but I'm already having high pH and high alkalinity with light use. How do i keep it cool without going above the upper safe limit?
Drops should be dispensed vertically because if you hold the bottle horizontally, the size of the drop is changed by the larger surface area. Same with the strips: shaking of the water changes the size of those drops. And baking soda has a pH of 8: it increases pH *much less* than any other pool product, but it increases total alkalinity the most.
@@SwimUniversity i'll have to try that next. But I can confirm sticking a pool pole through the skimmer box to hold it in place with one end at the bottom of the middle of the water and the other end duct taped to a shop vacuum hose in the out-hole ran to an extension cable and ran on full blast works. Got my PH right where I wanted it 👍
My index pool 1925 gallons is on my back patio and I have tarps covering it about 10 feet above so I get very little sunlight . Shocked pool 4 days ago and my chlorine 2 days ago was 10 now 2 days later is 14. Haven’t added chorine since shocking it Do I just wait for it to go down ?
Hello I have problem with my pool First the water turn green I make test I found ph very high and chlorine very low I add chlorine next day I make test I found ph very low and Chlorine very high Can u tell me what happen?
The one pool guy I was actually able to speak to told me to dump the chemicals into the skimmer 🤬 I just took his word for it and didn’t really think it through but my PH is still low. My alkalinity is high. Pools been open since May and we haven’t used it once yet. About to be a lot of burning eyes.
I am constantly having low ph. I add ph up and check the next day and low ph. It never sends to go away. I also have good alkalinity. I can't figure out why it constantly drops.
It could be your chlorine. Dichlor granules or Trichlor tablets are acidic and can lower pH. You can also raise your pH by aerating the water (running water features or jets).
Hi added chlorine to my pool with low ph levels without research an my pool os showing no chlorine atall ive just bought some ph plus to increase ph level is it still ok to add ph plus to the pool even tho theres chlorine in it ??
Borax Works great but like adding anything add a bit at a time. You can always add more. bleach works as good as expensive chlorine. Same thing a bit at a time.

Wow, that's exactly why we do this! You're so welcome and so glad to hear you have the confidence to take care of your pool on your own.
If using the water feature to increase PH on a 12k gallon pool, how long to roughly run the water feature? One to two hours or more?

This is EXACTLY what I was looking for. Thanks!
Glad we could help!
Good info .. now to make an aerator 👍😎✊
Is it OK to add soda ash and chlorine granules at once.. Because both are low
Good job, very informative.

Thanks for the Advice 👍
No problem 👍

Baking soda definitely increases alkalinity the most. And good tips about water testing!
2:54 raising ph with baking soda
Great, very informative video! Thank you.
I am watching all of these over and over lol. Any video planned for "manually aerating" the water?
If you don't have a fountain, we recommend buying and installing a simple pool aerator. They're pretty cheap.

What about Borax?
We don't talk about Borax, but Dave does on his channel: ruclips.net/video/jDZf78bGQ3c/видео.html
