I just listened to the original Vanguard recording of this song. Then I found this recent video of Joan singing "Donna Donna". Both versions are the same, yet they are different. Both are beautiful. And in the 2018 version you can just hear the lifetime of experience Joan has poured into that song. I have been listening to Joan Baez since the '60's and I still find it a magical experience. (I still have the vinyl recording holding this song, and I know exactly where it is.)

I learned the first song of playing guitar was this one---Donna Donna. I still remember the vocab. 'swallow' that I learned it through this song.
She was 75 or 76 during this performance. Think about that. Fun fact. This song is a Yiddish song as was written in 1941, the same year Joan was born.
