RYAN'S STORY:
Diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, trumpeter Ryan Anthony started the Ryan Anthony Foundation with his wife Niki and created CancerBlows to offer fundraising and awareness events throughout the country to support cancer research. Trumpeters from around the world offered their talent and friendship to the cause.

For those who don't know: Ryan Anthony was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, an incurable cancer in 2014. He organized the first CancerBlows event with some of the world's finest players and it is now an annual concert/fundraiser for cancer research. Ryan fought hard but sadly passed in June 2020. RIP to a legend. I think his playing is even more beautiful knowing what's behind it.

I feel that Ryan was on loan by God to the rest of us to enjoy his talent that was entrusted to him by God!! His music definitely came straight from the heart, and touched all of our hearts. 🥰
This masterpiece of a song is the from the pain he felt of others with cancer as well, his wife said whenever he was really sad he played his best and that whenever he felt like giving up he reminded himself of all the people that needed his help and his music.

Rachel Muller He has an incurable form of cancer called Multiple Myeloma. That’s what these Cancerblows events are for, it’s his organization that raises money to find a cure, for cancer research as a whole too.
Ryan, because of you I have picked up my trumpet again. It's been 40 years but I lost my sight four years ago and thought I would try. Thank you !

I played this in my schools pit orchestra for the theatre department. This is one of my favorite pieces I have ever played and would do it again and again. I play bass trombone and the tenor trombone has the melody as a solo at one point. This is a beautiful version and it sounded incredible.

Lord listening to this has had such a profound impact, I first listened to it from a musical sense, I thought it was a moving piece of music. But as I got older and more specifically when Ryan Anthony passed away this piece made me sad to think about him. But a couple years ago I lost my aunt to cancer and now this piece makes me think about her, it's weird how this one song has basically been a marker to see how I have changed in my life.
I'm Japanese and his fan . I love to play his technique... I'm very sad because I canot listen to his trumpet song anymore..😢

It's Joseph Turrin's arrangement, he publishes it and has it available on his website last time I checked.
I keep listening and notice a tiny mistake he made, but only after I keep listing to it, amazing trumpet playing.
